For Darkroom Door I made a few projects using the new Sentiment Stamps Friendship.

Voor Darkroom Door mocht ik aan de slag met een nieuwe Sentiment Stamps set. Een strook met teksten over vriendschap.

The project I'm sharing today is a pocket that holds a heart.

Mijn eerste project is een soort van envelopje/zakje waar een hart in past.

I started by inking up the Small Stencil - Polka Dots with Distress Ink. I sprayed water on top and made a reverse print of the stencil on watercolor paper. I die cut a scalloped strip out of that print using an older Tim Holtz die.

De Small Stencil - Polka Dots beïnkt met Distress Inkt, daar water over verneveld en hiermee een afdruk gemaakt op aquarelpapier. Ik gebruikte deze print om er met een oudere Tim Holtz die een gegolfd strookje uit te stansen.

To make the pocket I folded a 10,5 x 15 cm card out of mixed media paper. I turned the card with the fold at the bottom. I cut away a strip of 3 cm from the top of the front part. I stamped text to the left of the pocket with the Sentiment Stamps Friendship using Archival Ink Tiger Lily. I adhered the scalloped strip as shown and closed the pocket by making machine stitches along both edges.

Voor het zakje een dubbele 10,5 x 15 cm kaart gevouwen uit mixed media papier. De kaart gedraaid zodat de vouw onderaan kwam te liggen. Aan de bovenkant van de bovenste laag een strook van 3 cm weggeknipt. Links een strook tekst gestempeld met de Sentiments Stamps Friendship en Archival Inkt Tiger Lily. De gegolfde strook bovenaan vastgekleefd en de zijkanten van het zakje dichtgestikt met de naaimachine.

To create the heart I first stamped a text pattern by stamping 3 strips of text next to each other. I cut a heart out of that print and another one out of white paper.

Voor het hart de tekststrook 3 keer naast mekaar gestempeld. Daar een hartvorm uit geknipt. Dezelfde hartvorm ook nog een keer uit wit papier geknipt.

To achieve a 3D effect I sandwiched some filling material in between the 2 hearts. I attached a hanging loop at the inside using strong tape and made blanket stitches by hand to close the heart.

Om het hart wat 'body' te geven vulde ik het lichtjes op met vulmiddel. Dichtgenaaid met een dekensteek. Eerst nog een ophanglusje bevestigd aan de binnenkant.
