Happy Birthday

Een paar kaartjes gemaakt geïnspireerd op een techniek uit het boekje 'KIJK' van Hermine Koster.

Hermine maakte gesso cirkels met een rond sponsje. Dat heb ik niet, ik heb gewoon een sjabloon met cirkels gebruikt. En ik heb me ook helemaal laten gaan wat het aantal cirkels betreft :)

Made some cards inspired by a technique from Hermine Koster's book 'KIJK'.

I used a template to do the circles, instead of a Hein Design sponge. Made a lot more dots as on the sample in the book too :)

De ondergrond gekleurd met Distress Inkt.

Coloured the background with Distress Ink.

Tulpen en tekst gestempeld. Daarna de tulpen ingekleurd met Distress Inkt en een waterpenseel. De cirkels bijgekleurd en omlijnd met Distress Markers.

Stamped the tulips and the text with black ink. Coloured the tulips with Distress Ink and a water brush. Coloured and outlined the dots with Distress Markers.

Voor de achtergrond van dit 'éénlaagskaartje' eerst gesso gesmeerd en daar verschillende kleuren acrylverf over aangebracht.

For this 'one layer card' I started with applying gesso to the background. Added layers of acrylic paint after drying.

Op de verf gestempeld en motieven aangebracht met een sjabloon en witte verf.

Did some random stamping and added a pattern with white paint and a template.

Tegelijk alvast een pagina in mijn Art Journal voorbereid.

In the meantime I prepared an Art Journal page too.

Ik maakte onderstaand kaartje als voorbeeld voor de uitdaging.

Een laagje gesso op een acrylblok gesmeerd en daar een afdruk mee gemaakt op een kraft kaartje.

I stamped a white rectangle on a kraft card with gesso and an acrylic block.

Daar met zwarte inkt op gestempeld. 

Stamped on it with black ink.

Gesso cirkels gemaakt met een sjabloon. Deze ingekleurd met Neocolors.

Made gesso circles with a template. Did the coloring with Neocolors.

Een deel van de jurk gemaskerd alvorens de tekst te stempelen.

Masked a part of the dress before stamping the text.

Santa

Eén van mijn favoriete technieken gebruikt hier, de gesso resist techniek.

Used one of my favourite techniques for these cards, the gesso resist technique.

Eerst gestempeld met gesso en daarna de ondergrond gekleurd met Distress Inkt. Rechtstreeks met het stempelkussen over het papier geveegd.

After stamping with gesso I colored the background with Distress Ink. 

De mooie Santa gestempeld op glad papier met Distress Inkt 'Iced Spruce'.

Stamped the beautiful Santa on smooth paper with Distress Ink 'Iced Spruce'.

De rode kaart gekleurd en gestempeld met Distress Inkt 'Festive Berries'.

On the red card I did the stamping and coloring with Distress Ink 'Festive Berries'.

Voor het kerstboompje op dit kaartje haalde ik mijn inspiratie bij Inge. Zij maakte de gaatjes met de Big Bite. Zo'n instrument heb ik niet. Net zoals Miranda gebruikte ik de tools van mijn eyelet set. 

For the Christmas tree on this card I was inspired by Inge. As I do not own a Big Bite I had to look for an alternative to make the holes. Did it the same way as Miranda: with the tools of my eyelet set.

Birthday Card

Voor dit verjaardagskaartje eerst bedrukt tissue papier gekleefd en daar gesso overheen gesmeerd. Deze achtergrond gekleurd met Gelatos.

De bloemen gemaakt met gesso en een sjabloon. Nog wat stempel- en sponswerk toegevoegd om het af te werken.

For this birthday card I started with collaging patterned tissue paper on a blank card base. Put a layer of gesso on top and colored the background with Gelatos.

Made the flowers with gesso and a template. Added some stamping and sponging to finish it off.

The Art of Goodness 'The Gate'

Na lange tijd weer eens een pagina gemaakt in mijn Art Journal.

Geïnspireerd door de online workshop "The Art of Goodness" van Junelle Jacobsen. De eerste pagina van mijn Art Journal was nog leeg, ik vond dit hekje er wel op passen.

It's been a while since I worked in my Art Journal.

For this page I was inspired by "The Art of Goodness", an online course by Junelle Jacobsen. Thought this fence would fit well on the first page.

Gesso gesmeerd en daar acrylverf over aangebracht met een bankpasje.

Put gesso on the page and covered it with acrylic paint.

Voor het hek eerst papierstroken gekleefd.

Sketched a fence and 'collaged' it on the page with paper strips.

Veel laagjes verf erover gezet om het hekje een oude look te geven.

Added lots of layers to give the fence a vintage look.

Een 'kransje' gemaakt van jute en stof.

Made a wreath from burlap and fabric.

Penwerk in zwart en wit.

Black and white penwork.

Ik werk aan nog een paar leuke projecten uit deze cursus.

Did the stamping on a kraft card base.

Accenten aangebracht met een wit potlood.

Added some accents with a white pencil.

Het sponswerk deed ik met gesso.

Sponged with gesso.

Tot slot nog wat rode accenten aangebracht met een Distress Marker.

Added some red accents with a Distress Marker to finish it off.

Telkens een ander sjabloon gebruikt.

Used three different templates by The Crafter's Workshop.

New Art Journey Stamps #2

Voor dit kaartje de stempels uit de nieuwe Postcard set van Art Journey gecombineerd met oudere stempels.

For this card I mixed stamps from Art Journey's brand new  Postcard set with some of their older stamps.

Op een kraft kaart gesso gesmeerd. De gesso eerst gekleurd met een paar druppels uit een navulflesje van Distress Inkt.

Put a layer of gesso on a kraft card. Colored the gesso with a few drops of reinker (Distress Ink).

Dit leuke vogeltje komt uit de Fairy Tale set (ook nieuw!) en heb ik in de postzegel gemikt.

This cute bird is from the Fairy Tale set (new!). 

Drie rode kruisjes geborduurd.

Made three cross-stitches.

Hier stempels uit de Postcard set gecombineerd met een vlinder uit de Butterflies set.

For this card I mixed stamps from the Postcard set with a butterfly from the new Butterflies set.

Beide kaartjes 'ingepakt' met een koordje.

Wrapped both cards with some bakers twine.

Gesso Resist

De achtergrond van deze kaarten is gemaakt met een gesso resist techniek.

Als mijn inspiratie het laat afweten rommel ik eens door mijn Darkroom Door stempels, dat helpt altijd :)

When I have a lack of inspiration I go through my Darkroom Door stamps, that really helps me :)

Gestempeld met gesso op aquarelpapier. De achtergrond daarna gekleurd met Distress Stains.

Did the stamping with gesso on watercolor paper. Colored the background with Distress Stains.

Een beetje water verneveld om de kleuren mooi te laten overlopen. Na droging worden de gesso letters goed zichtbaar.

Sprayed some water on top to let the colors blend nicely. The text shows up well after drying.

De bloemen zijn ook gestempeld met dezelfde kleuren Stains.

The flowers were stamped with Stains too.

Deze achtergrond vind ik mooier, die viel iets levendiger uit dan bij de eerste kaart.

I love this background more, it turned out brighter than the one on the first card.

I made this card to inspire you.

Voor de achtergrond één van mijn gelli prints gebruikt. Daar de letters op gestempeld met gesso.

For the background I used one of my gelli prints. Stamped on it with gesso.

Gescheurd: een stuk papier uit de beschuitrol en tissue papier dat met Dylusions Inkt geverfd werd.

Used packaging material from biscuits and tissue paper that I colored with Dylusions Ink. 

De peer is gestempeld met StazOn 'Cactus Green'.

I stamped the pear with StazOn 'Cactus Green'.

Een paar lagen gesso op een kledinglabel gesmeerd en in de natte gesso gestempeld.

Put a few layers of gesso on a clothing label and stamped into the wet gesso.
