I'm currently taking part in the "Flowers Magic Challenge" by Francisca Nunes.

We started by making a junk journal and now we are filling it with all kinds of flower projects. 

"Flowers Magic is a free challenge for mixed media artists and art journal lovers, who love and are inspired by the magic world of flowers."

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. 

For this page I was again inspired by a lesson from Joana Dornellas.

 The background as well as the vase and the flowers were painted with acrylic paint and finished off with oil pastels.

Voor deze pagina werd ik opnieuw geïnspireerd door een les van Joana Dornellas. De achtergrond, de vaas en de bloemen werden met acrylverf geschilderd en afgewerkt met olie pastels. 

 I picked colors that match with the page on the left.

Ik koos voor kleuren die passen bij de linker pagina.

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. 

For the left page I was inspired by a lesson from Joana Dornellas. I worked on top of a gel print.

Voor deze pagina werd ik geïnspireerd door een les van Joana Dornellas. De pagina waar ik op werkte is een gel print.

For the right page I was inspired by a pattern on a blouse. 

Voor de rechter pagina liet ik me inspireren door een patroon op een bloes.

I stamped squares with acrylic paint and drew flowers on top using acrylic paint and oil pastels. 

Hokjes gestempeld met acrylverf en daar bloemen op getekend met een combinatie van acrylverf en olie pastels. 

Art De Fleur

De techniek uit de vorige blogpost nog een keer toegepast.

The technique I used for these cards is described in the previous blogpost. 

 I wilde wel eens zien wat het effect zou zijn als ik felle kleuren gebruikte :)

Used bright colors here instead of neutrals, had to see the effect :)

Hier een vlak gekleurd met verschillende groene en blauwe oliekrijtjes. Daarna de randen gesprayed met Dylusions Inkt. Eerst water verneveld om een soort aquarel effect te krijgen.

Did the coloring of the centre panel with several green and blue oil pastels. I sprayed a mix of water and Dylusions Ink around the edges for a watercolor look.

Een roze/oranje versie. 

Deze stempel blijft één van mijn favorieten!

A pink/orange version. 

The stamp I used is still one of my favourites.

De witte accenten zijn gekrast met een pen.

In order to add some white accents I etched with a pen into the surface.

Neutrale kleuren: een echte uitdaging voor mij :)

Neutral colors: a big challenge for me :)

De gebruikte techniek komt uit de 'Craft Stamper' van oktober 2012.

Eerst een vlak gekleurd met een wit oliekrijtje. Daarna het witte vlak bedekt met gekleurde krijtjes. Na het stempelen tenslotte de randen gesprayed met Glimmer Mist en Dylusions Inkt. De oliekrijtjes werken hier als een resist.

Saw the technique I used in a 'Craft Stamper' issue (October 2012). First I colored the centre panel of the card with white oil pastel. Then colored over the white with gray/blue/yellow pastels. After stamping I finally sprayed Dylusions Ink and Glimmer Mist around the edges. The oil pastel works as a resist here.

Daarna komt het leuke deel: krassen. 

Then comes the fun part: etching highlights into the pastels. 

Met een pen kraste ik in het papier om het jurkje en de sokjes van het meisje wit te maken.

I scratched with a pen into the paper to turn the dress and socks of the little girl white.

Een stukje lint/ a piece of ribbon

Een stukje van een tandenstoker omwikkeld met glinsterende bakers twine.

I wrapped some bakers twine around a toothpick. 

Hier 'roosjes' gekrast in de 'Pages' stippen.

Here I etched 'roses' into the 'Pages' dots.

Hesse

Een kaartje gemaakt naar aanleiding van de geboorte van Hesse.

 Het papier eerst ingesmeerd met babyolie. Strepen aangebracht met oliekrijtjes en gedeeltelijk terug uitgeveegd met olie. Na het stempelen de tekening bijgekleurd met oliekrijtjes en een klein beetje potlood. Een variatie op een techniek van het ART Specially weekend, hier te vinden.

Hesse is a new born baby boy. I made a card to congratulate his parents.

First I've put some baby oil on the paper, then added some marks with oil pastels and faded them out again with oil. After stamping the boy, I added some color to the image with oil pastels and pencils.

Stempel en achtergrond zijn één laag.

Except for the hearts, it's a one layer card.

Een rij gaatjes gemaakt rond de kaart en valse steekjes aangebracht met een pen.

I made holes around the card and did some 'faux stitching' with a pen.

Voor deze techniek de oliekrijtjes opgediept. Ga ik vaker gebruiken, een heel leuk techniek om te doen!

Digged up my oil pastels for this technique. I'll use them more often from now on, a fun technique to practise!
