Today I'm sharing a card I made for a newborn baby girl. I made cards like this before but there is one condition though, the name cannot count more than 5 letters :)

For the background I used paper by Masterpiece Design. I added 2 strips of leftover handmade paper. The letters were done with alphabet dies. For a 3D effect, I glued 5 layers on top of each other.

Vandaag toon ik een kaartje dat ik maakte voor een pasgeboren meisje. Ik maakte al vaker kaartjes met dit design. Er is echter één voorwaarde, de naam mag uit niet meer dan 5 letters bestaan :)

Voor de achtergrond papier van Masterpiece Design gebruikt. Onderaan 2 restjes handgeschept papier opgekleefd.  Voor de letters gebruikte ik alfabet stansen. Voor een 3D effect kleefde ik telkens 5 laagjes op  mekaar.

To further decorate the card I added a felt star and a text strip with computer generated text. Did some stamping on the card and envelope using 2 small stamps from the Hello Baby Vol 1 stamp set by Darkroom Door. 

Het kaartje verder afgewerkt met een vilten ster en een tekstje dat ik maakte met de computer. Gestempeld op het kaartje en de enveloppe met 2 stempeltjes uit de Hello Baby Vol 1 stempelset van Darkroom Door.

I have 2 more baby cards to share today. 

They were made for newborn baby boys.

Twee baby kaartjes gemaakt voor pasgeboren jongens.

I made a gel print on the tags first. 

Op de labels maakte ik eerst een gel print. 

I bought the fluffy animals in a haberdashery store. They are made to pimp an outfit or a bag but in my opinion they look nice on a card as well.

De pluizige diertjes kocht ik in een winkel voor naaibenodigdheden. Ze zijn eigenlijk bedoeld om kledij of tassen mee te versieren maar ze staan ook leuk op kaartjes vind ik.

For the tag toppers I used home colored ribbon that matches with the background.

Voor de tag topper 3 zelf gekleurde lintjes gezocht in de kleuren van de gel prints. 

This tag has the same design but I used softer colors.

 

Dit label is op dezelfde manier gemaakt. Ik gebruikte zachtere kleuren.

Today I have a baby card to share.

The grid pattern on the background was done using small inkpads. I 'stamped' with the inkpads straight onto the tag. For this technique I was inspired by stampingmathilda.

Een label gemaakt voor de geboorte van een baby.

Het raster op de achtergrond maakte ik door met 2 kleine inktkussens rechtstreeks op het label te 'stempelen'. Ik keek de techniek af van stampingmathilda.

Het pluizige diertje kocht ik in een winkel voor naaibenodigdheden en is eigenlijk bedoeld om kledij of tassen op te pimpen. Toen ik het zag dacht ik meteen dat het ook wel mooi zou staan op een babykaart :)

There's always some matching ribbon in my stash :)

Ik vond nog 2 stukjes bijpassend lint in mijn voorraad :)

Ik maakte al vaker deze gepersonaliseerde babykaartjes. Deze keer voor de geboorte van de kleine Walt.

 Each letter consists out of 5 layers. For the bottom layer I used blue cardstock.

Elke letter bestaat uit 5 laagjes en voor de onderste laag gebruikte ik blauw kaartkarton.

When colleagues give birth I like to make a personalized card.

Als collega's bevallen maak ik graag een gepersonaliseerd kaartje ter gelegenheid van de geboorte.

Each letter consists out of 5 layers. I used die cuts to cut out the letters.

De letters elk 5 keer uitgestanst en op mekaar geplakt. 

The only condition to make cards like this is the name. The amount of characters is limited :)

Enige voorwaarde voor zo'n kaart is dat de naam van de baby niet te lang mag zijn :)

A Star is Born

I made 2 cards for 2 newborn baby boys. 

I made similar cards for girls before: HERE

Twee gepersonaliseerde kaartjes gemaakt voor 2 pasgeboren baby's. 

Ik maakte vroeger al eens gelijkaardige kaartjes voor meisjes: HIER

A felt star, die cut letters, washi tape and a small stamp, that's all I needed to create these cards.

Een vilten ster, uitgestanste letters, washi tape, een kleine stempel, dat is alles wat er nodig was om deze kaartjes te maken.

Each letter was built out of 5 layers. I die cut the bottom layer out of dark blue cardstock.

Elke letter bestaat uit 5 laagjes. Het onderste laagje stanste ik uit donkerblauw kaartkarton.

I looked through my stash for some cute tape. 

Mooie tape uitgezocht.

A top fold card, a good quality cardstock, rounded corners...It's all in the details :)

De vouw bovenaan, een goede kwaliteit kaartkarton, afgeronde hoekjes...Het zit'm in de details :)

Abstract 03 #2

Today I made a babycard using the new Abstract 03 border stamp by Darkroom Door. I colored the background using the Polka Dots stencil and Distress Ink. I tapped with various ink pads straight onto the stencil, sprayed water on top and made a print on watercolor paper.

Ik maakte vandaag een babykaartje met de Abstract 03 stempel van Darkroom Door. Ik kleurde eerst de achtergrond met de Polka Dots stencil en Distress Inkt. Verschillende stempelkussens rechtstreeks op de stencil afgedrukt, hier water over verneveld en een print gemaakt op aquarelpapier.

I made a print with the Abstract 03 stamp using Versamark ink. I heat embossed that print with pink embossing powder. 

De Abstract 03 stempel afgedrukt met Versamark inkt en de print een laagje roze embossing gegeven.

I stamped the bear using Distress Ink. I added accents with a pink ZIG Clean Color Real Brush marker.

De teddybeer afgedrukt met Distress Inkt, de strik ingekleurd met een roze ZIG Clean Color Real Brush marker.

I made this card for a newborn baby boy. For the name I glued 6 layers of die cut letters on top of each other and colored the top layer with paint.

I finished the card off with tape and a small stamp.

Een kaartje gemaakt voor een geboorte. Voor de naam zes laagjes uitgestanste  letters op mekaar geplakt en de bovenste laag geverfd. Verder afgewerkt met tape en een kleine stempel.

I made a CAS card to welcome a newborn babygirl.

I stamped the background stamp on watercolor paper using Distress Ink. Just added some text to finish the card off.

Een CAS babykaartje gemaakt.

De achtergrondstempel werd afgedrukt met Distress Inkt op aquarelpapier. Verder alleen tekst toegevoegd.

Here's another card I made with the new Baby Sentiment Stamps by Darkroom Door.

I started by inking up the Triangles Background Stamp using various colors of Distress Ink, did the stamping on a 10 x 10 watercolor panel. 

I stamped the text on vellum, wrapped the strip of vellum around the card and attached it to the back. I marked the word 'sweet' using pink scrapper's floss. 

Opnieuw een babykaart die ik maakte met de nieuwe Baby Sentiment Stamps van Darkroom Door.

Eerst de Triangles achtergrondstempel beïnkt met verschillende kleuren Distress Inkt. Hier water over verneveld en de stempel afgedrukt op aquarelpapier van 10 x 10 cm. De tekst stempelde ik op een strook vellum. De strook rond de kaart gevouwen en aan de achterkant vastgemaakt.

Het woordje 'sweet' gemarkeerd met roze scrapper's floss.

These 2 cards were made with the new Baby Sentiment Stamps by Darkroom Door.

Deze 2 kaartjes maakte ik ook met de nieuwe Baby Sentiment Stamps van Darkroom Door.

I created a pattern on the background using small stamps. I inked up the stamps with light-colored pink ink. 

I overstamped that print with the text strip.

Een patroon op de achtergrond gestempeld met lichtroze inkt en een kleine stempel. 

Deze keer de tekststrook in zijn geheel afgedrukt.

I finished both cards off with black thread and a pink rabbit.

Beide kaarten afgewerkt met een zwart touwtje en een roze konijn.

Baby Sentiment Stamps #1

Rachel from Darkroom Door asked me to make a few samples for the blog with the new Baby Sentiment Stamps.

Here's the first card.

I started by inking up the Triangles Background Stamp using various colors of Distress Ink and stamped on watercolor paper. I stamped a frame on top of that print.

Rachel van Darkroom Door vroeg me om voor haar blog een aantal voorbeelden te maken met de nieuwe Baby Sentiment Stamps.

Hier de eerste kaart van de reeks.

De Triangles achtergrondstempel afgedrukt op aquarelpapier met verschillende kleuren Distress Inkt. Daar een frame overheen gestempeld.

To stamp the sentiments I used Distress Ink as well. I pinned the text strips to the 'notice-board' using enamel dots.

De teksten gestempeld met dezelfde kleuren Distress inkt en ze op het 'prikbord' vastgepind met enamel dots.

To finish the card off I added some black stamping using small stamps from the Hello Baby Vol 1 stamp set.

Als laatste nog wat zwart stempelwerk toegevoegd met kleine stempeltjes uit de Hello Baby Vol 1 set.

I made a clean and simple card to welcome a newborn baby. The sentiment is from a new Darkroom Door text stamp. To stamp the hearts I used various colors of Distress Inks.

I bought the stamp of the girl months ago, time to ink it up!

De stempel van het meisje heb ik al een poosje, het werd tijd om die eens te gebruiken! 

I did the coloring with ZIG brush markers and Distress Inks.

I have a babycard to show today. 

I created the flower by sponging through a stencil with paint. Keeping the white space spotless was the hardest part :)

Een babykaart vandaag. 

De bloem deed ik met een stencil en verf. 

Het witte gedeelte wit houden was het moeilijkste :)

This bear is an oldie but one of my favorite stamps. 

I used a die to create the faux stitches at the edges.

Deze beer blijf ik een hele mooie vinden. 

De steekjesrand deed ik met een die.
