Rachel Greig van Darkroom Door organiseert gedurende de maand augustus een challenge op Instagram. Er is elke dag een onderwerp waar je mee aan de slag kan. 

 For the 'Tree' topic I made a spread in my large Dylusions Journal.

On the background I used Dylusions Ink Spray, paint and the 'Large Stencil Dots' by Darkroom Door.

Voor het thema 'Tree' maakte ik een spread in mijn groot Dylusions Journal. Op de achtergrond gewerkt met Dylusions Ink Spray, verf en de 'Large Stencil - Dots' van Darkroom Door.

To stamp the tree I used a large foam stamp by Prima and black paint.

I added black stamping to the background using stamps from the 'Grunge Marks' stamp set.

De boom stempelde ik met een grote foam stempel van Prima die ik beïnkte met zwarte verf. Verder nog stempelwerk toegevoegd met stempels uit de 'Grunge Marks' stempelset.

For the quote on the left I used stamps from the 'Sketched Alphabet' stamp set.

De tekst links deed ik met stempels uit de 'Sketched Alphabet' stempelset.

I made 3 sympathy cards using a set of Dutch quote stamps.

Ik maakte 3 sterkte kaartjes en daarvoor gebruikte ik een setje Nederlandstalige tekststempels.

For the backgrounds I used gel prints. On this background I added black stamping.

Voor de achtergronden koos ik een aantal mooie gel prints uit. Hier stempelde ik  ook nog 2 takken bovenop de gel print.

On this card and the following one I only added text.

Deze en volgende gel print waren mooi genoeg op zich.

I created the flower using an old foam stamp, still one of my favorites.

Voor de bloem gebruikte ik een oude foam stempel. Nog steeds één van mijn favorieten.

For the background of these sympathy cards I used gel prints.

To create the gel prints I used a large foam flower stamp.

Whit lots of gel prints ready on my worktable it's super easy to make cards these days :)

En kant en klare gel print van de stapel genomen. Op die manier gaat kaartjes maken snel tegenwoordig :)

To stamp the birds I used a whimsical bird stamp that came with the latest Craft Stamper.

I colored the wings using Distress Ink.

De stempel van het vogeltje zat gratis bij de laatste Craft Stamper.

Hun vleugels ingekleurd met Distress Inkt.

I made these prints for the 'foam stamps' topic of the gel printing challenge.

Ik maakte deze prints voor de uitdaging 'foam stempels'.

Birgit made a video tutorial on how to make your own flexible texture plates. I made 2 of those 'stamps', see orange and pink texture plates on the photo.

For the texture tube on the left I've cut squares out of self adhesive craft foam and attached those to a paper tube. On the wood block I glued felt pads/floor protectors from the hardware store. 

Birgit maakte een instructiefilmpje over hoe je zelf makkelijk buigbare 'texture plates' kan maken om te gebruiken op de gelli plate.

Ik maakte 2 van deze 'stempels', zie de oranje en roze foam platen op de foto. Ik knipte ook vierkantjes uit zelfklevend knutselfoam en plakte deze op een stevige kartonnen rol. Op het houtblokje kleefde ik vilten rondjes die bedoeld zijn om onder meubels te kleven als vloerbescherming. 

I stamped on the prints using the wood block, love the effect.

Achteraf op de prints gestempeld met het houtblokje met vilten rondjes.

Elke tool van de foto gebruikt op elke print :)

I used all of my foam tools on each print :)

From Gel Print to...#3

I finished off one of my A4 gelli prints and glued it in my big Dylusions journal.

Eén van mijn A4 gelli prints afgewerkt en in mijn groot Dylusions journal gekleefd.

I made this print for the 'lines' topic of the gel printing challenge. I applied red, blue and white paint to the plate and made some scribbles into the wet paint with a Dina Wakley tool.

Deze achtergrond maakte ik voor het thema 'lijnen' van de art printing challenge. Ik bracht rode, blauwe en witte verf aan op de gel printing plate en krabbelde erin met een Dina Wakley tool.

I overstamped the print with a tree using black paint. I used an older foam stamp by Donna Downey (A4 size), still one of my favorites.

Op de print een boom gestempeld met zwarte verf. Ik gebruikte een oudere foam stempel van Donna Downey, A4 formaat. Het blijft een favoriet.

Het raam werd op een stukje van een gelli plate print gestempeld.

To make this card I inked up two stamps I haven't used a lot.

The window was stamped on a gelli plate print.

Mixed Media Stamp #3

Nog een kaart gemaakt met mijn Prima Mixed Media Stempel. Deze keer had ik het idee om de stempel met Versamark af te drukken op een gelli plate print. Na het embossen van de stempelafdruk met WOW embossingpoeder 'Opaque Bright White' nog wat extra bloemetjes op de voorgrond gezet. Daarvoor een extra afdruk gemaakt met StazOn inkt 'Teal Blue' en daar een aantal bloemen uit geknipt.

I've made another card with my Prima Mixed Media stamp. This time I stamped with Versamark on a gelli plate print and heat embossing the stamped image with WOW embossing powder 'Opaque Bright White'. I stamped an extra print with StazOn ink 'Teal Blue', cut out a few flowers and adhered them to the front of the card.

On these cards I used the stamp from this blogpost as a background stamp.

Gestempeld met groene acrylverf. 

De kaarten verder versierd met gestempelde bloemen die ik op een gelli plate print afdrukte.

I did the stamping with green acrylic paint. 

I decorated the cards with flowers which I stamped on a gelli plate print.

 Twee bloemen op mekaar zorgen voor iets meer 'body'.

On this card I layered two flowers on top of each other.

Mixed Media Stamp #1

Een kaartje gemaakt met een stempel die ik al een tijdje heb liggen. 

I've made a card with a stamp that's in my stash for quite a while now.

Ik deed er nog niks mee omdat ik het een moeilijke vind. Nu toch maar eens uitgetest wat er allemaal mee kan.

I haven't used the stamp yet because in my opinion it's a tough one. High time to give it a try and to see what I can do with it.

Voor mijn eerste poging de stempelafdruk ingekleurd met vier tinten lentegroen. Voor de rest nog enamel dots gekleefd, zwart garen rond de kaart gewikkeld en er een wens bovenop gekleefd.

On my first attempt I colored the stamped print with pencils using four shades of green. I decorated the card with enamel dots, wrapped some black thread around the card and glued a wish on top.

Birds

Een kaartje gemaakt met 'restjes' van vorige projecten. 

I made a card with scraps from previous projects.

Bloemen geëmbossed en daarna de achtergrond met Dylusions Spray Inkt gekleurd. Nog wat extra bloemen gestempeld in de open ruimtes.

I heat embossed some flowers first. Then coloured the background with Dylusions Spray Ink and stamped some extra flowers in blue.

Ik vind de vogels wel passen op de 'exotische' achtergrond. Ze zijn bestempeld met een Hero Arts definitiestempel. Dezelfde stempel nog eens afgedrukt op wit papier en daar de woorden 'happy' en 'birthday' uit geknipt.

In my opinion the birds fit well on the rather 'exotic' background. I overstamped the birds with a Hero Arts dictionary stamp. For the wish I stamped the same stamp on a piece of white paper and cut out the words 'happy' and 'birthday'.

Voor dit label een resist techniek toegepast. Daarvoor een stencil gebruikt in combinatie met Distress Stain 'Picked Fence'. Gesprayed met Dylusions Inkt.

On this tag I used a resit technique with a stencil and Distress Stain 'Picked Fence'. Did the coloring with Dylusions Ink.

Van alles verzamelen en dan schuiven met de verschillende elementen tot het goed is....een leuk werkje :)

Gathering all kinds of stuff and putting everything in place, love it :)

Ik stempelde de vogel met een lichte kleur. Daarna nog wat laagjes inkt/verf toegevoegd.

I stamped the bird with a soft color and added different layers of ink/paint.

Als tag topper een restje keukenpapier gebruikt waarmee ik het teveel aan Dylusions inkt wegdepte.

Added some kitchen towel as tag topper here. Used this towel to remove some of the Dylusions Ink after spraying the background.

Een frame van Melissa Frances op het hartje geplakt. Het resje lint belandde haast 'vanzelf' onder het hart :)

Glued a Melissa Frances frame on top of the heart. The ribbon scrap ended up under the heart by coincidence but I didn't remove it :)

Weer een gesso/verf achtergrondje hier. 

Used another gesso-ed/painted background for this card.

Over de verf heen gestempeld met een achtergrondstempel en StazOn inkt 'Teal Blue'. Daarna cirkels gemaakt met witte acrylverf en een sjabloon. Deze cirkels kleur gegeven met Distress Markers.

Overstamped the paint with a background stamp and StazOn ink 'Teal Blue'. Added dots with white acrylic paint and a template. Colored the circles with Distress Markers.

De vogels eerst gestempeld met Faber Castell Gelatos. Daarna de printafdrukken bewerkt met Dylusions inkt en sjablonen.

Pink and White

Twee canvasjes van 30 x 30 cm gemaakt voor een kinderkamer.

Made two 12 x 12 " canvases for a kids room.

Voor de achtergrond eerst laagjes bedrukt en wit tissue papier geplakt. Daar vegen roze en witte verf over aangebracht met een oud bankpasje.

Started with adding layers of white and patterned tissue paper to the background. Colored the tissue paper with pink and white acrylic paint.

Bloemen gemaakt met rondjes papier en tissue papier.

Made layered flowers from paper and tissue paper.

De boom eerst gestempeld met witte verf en daarna met oranje verf. 

De schapen kregen een pels van structuurpasta.

Stamped the tree with white paint and overstamped it with orange paint.

Used molding paste for the sheep.

Op de achtergrond ook nog letters, cijfers en stippen aangebracht met verf en StazOn Inkt 'Dove Gray'.

Added dots, numbers and letters to the background with paint and StazOn Ink 'Dove Gray'.

Met een sjabloon en structuurpasta deze doily gemaakt. 

Made the doilies with a template and molding paste.

De huisjes geknipt uit gedessineerd papier dat nog een extra laagje verf kreeg. De daken zijn gemaakt van restjes van een gelli print.

Cut houses out of patterned paper and added yellow and orange paint. Made the roofs out of gelli prints.

De pomponnen één voor één opgeplakt :)

Glued the pompons to the roofs one by one :)

Reepjes tape gescheurd.

Added strips of torn tissue tape.

Veel structuur...Dat valt moeilijk over te brengen via foto's.

It's very difficult to capture the structure of the canvas with the camera.

Aangepaste bloemetjes gezocht in mijn voorraad.

Looked for matching flowers in my stash.
