Christmas 2024 #1

 

I'm sharing two Christmas cards in green and pink today.

Vandaag toon ik 2 kerstkaarten in groen en roze kleuren.

For the background and the wooden trees I used paint. 

Op de achtergrond en de houten boompjes werkte ik met verf.

For the details I grabbed my paint markers.

Voor de details mijn verf markers gebruikt.

Acrylic Paint & Oil Pastels #2

 

I'm currently taking part in the "Flowers Magic Challenge" by Francisca Nunes.

We started by making a junk journal and now we are filling it with all kinds of flower projects. 

"Flowers Magic is a free challenge for mixed media artists and art journal lovers, who love and are inspired by the magic world of flowers."

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. 

For this page I was again inspired by a lesson from Joana Dornellas.

 The background as well as the vase and the flowers were painted with acrylic paint and finished off with oil pastels.

Voor deze pagina werd ik opnieuw geïnspireerd door een les van Joana Dornellas. De achtergrond, de vaas en de bloemen werden met acrylverf geschilderd en afgewerkt met olie pastels. 

 I picked colors that match with the page on the left.

Ik koos voor kleuren die passen bij de linker pagina.

For the left page I was inspired by a lesson from Joana Dornellas. I worked on top of a gel print.

Voor deze pagina werd ik geïnspireerd door een les van Joana Dornellas. De pagina waar ik op werkte is een gel print.

For the right page I was inspired by a pattern on a blouse. 

Voor de rechter pagina liet ik me inspireren door een patroon op een bloes.

I stamped squares with acrylic paint and drew flowers on top using acrylic paint and oil pastels. 

Hokjes gestempeld met acrylverf en daar bloemen op getekend met een combinatie van acrylverf en olie pastels.

More sweets on today's  birthday card :)

The background was colored with acrylic paint. I randomly overstamped that background with the 'Square' stamp by Different Colors using Archival Ink 'Picked Raspberry'. I added a strip of patterned tissue paper as well.

Ik blijf nog even in de zoetigheden hangen, wat mijn kaarten betreft toch :)

Gewerkt met een acrylverf achtergrond. Daar op verschillende plaatsen vierkantjes op gestempeld met de 'Square' stempel van Different Colors en Archival Inkt 'Picked Raspberry'. Ook een strookje bedrukt tissue papier opgeplakt.

The cupcakes were stamped on scraps of watercolor paper, colored with watercolor paint and adhered to the card after cutting out. I stamped an extra strawberry and put it behind both cupcakes. 

De cupcakes op restjes aquarelpapier gestempeld, geverfd met aquarelverf, uitgeknipt en opgeplakt. De aardbei nog eens extra gestempeld en achter de cupcakes geplakt.

On the background of this card I used acrylic paint and stencils. On the leaves I used watercolor paint.

De achtergrond van dit kaartje gemaakt met acrylverf en stencils. Voor de blaadjes gebruikte ik aquarelverf.

I finished the card off with one of my favorite Darkroom Door text stamps.

Afgewerkt met een favoriete tekst stempel van Darkroom Door.

Puzzle Pieces #1

 

Today I'm sharing two cards featuring the new Puzzle Pieces stamp set by Darkroom Door.

Twee kaartjes gemaakt met de nieuwe Puzzle Pieces stempelset van Darkroom Door in de hoofdrol.

I started by making a lot of backgrounds using acrylic paint.

Begonnen met het maken van een aantal ondergronden met acrylverf.

On one of those backgrounds I stamped various numbers with stamps from the Number Medley set.

Op één van deze achtergronden verschillende nummers gestempeld met stempels uit de Number Medley set.

To stamp the flowers I used a stamp from the Fine Flowers Vol 2 stamp set. The puzzle pieces were stamped on a scrap of paper and colored with paint. I worked with the same colors as I used on the background.

Ook 3 bloemen gestempeld uit de Fine Flowers Vol 2 set. Het rijtje puzzelstukjes gestempeld op een restje papier en gekleurd met verf in de kleuren van de achtergrond.

On this background I stamped numbers as well as a grid pattern.

Bij deze kaart stempelde ik naast nummers ook nog een raster op willekleurige plaatsen.

I added puzzle pieces using various colors of Archival Ink. I stamped the black circles using the lid of a mini mister. The white splatters were done with a Posca pen.

Puzzelstukjes op de achtergrond gestempeld in verschillende kleuren Archival Inkt. Voor de zwarte cirkels gebruikte ik het dopje van een mini mister. Ook nog spetters aangebracht met een witte Posca pen.

The Puzzle Pieces set includes lots of beautiful quotes. I used one on the foreground and stamped another one randomly on the background as well.

De Puzzle Pieces set bevat naast allerlei puzzelstukjes ook een aantal toffe teksten. Ik gebruikte tekst op de voorgrond zowel als op de achtergrond.

Snowdrops

A touch of spring on today's card.

I started by stamping circles on a painted background using white paint.

I stamped the snowdrops on white paper and colored the image with Distress Ink.

Een lentekaartje vandaag.

Op de geverfde achtergrond stempelde ik eerst de witte cirkels.

De sneeuwklokjes apart gestempeld en opgeplakt. Ze werken gekleurd met Distress Inkt.

For the tag topper I used scraps of ribbon.

Allerlei restjes bijpassend lint bij mekaar gezocht.

To create this card I started with a kraft card base and added layers using a stamp, stencils, paint and tape. 

Opnieuw laagjes aangebracht met een stempel, stencils, verf en tape. Gewerkt op een kraft ondergrond.

Last year I made stuffed hearts for Craft Stamper using the same technique.

Scribbly Bird Cousins

On this card I used one of Dina Wakley's Scribbly Birds.

To create the background I started by sponging through an alphabet stencil using Distress Ink 'Mermaid Lagoon'. I continued stenciling using the Blazonry stencil by TCW and light blue paint. The purple dots were done with a brand new stencil by Darkroom Door: Polka Dots.

Nog eens een Scribbly Bird van Dina Wakley gebruikt op dit kaartje. 

Op de achtergrond eerst grote letters aangebracht door met Distress Inkt 'Mermaid Lagoon' doorheen een alfabet stencil te sponzen. Daarna ovalen gesponst met lichtblauwe verf. De paarse stippen deed ik met de splinternieuwe Polka Dots stencil van Darkroom Door.

I stamped the green circles and pink dots using stamps from the Darkroom Door Grunge Marks set. 

Voor de groene ringen en roze dots gebruikte ik stempels uit de Darkroom Door Grunge Marks set.

First I created color blocks by stamping with a small gel printing plate using paint. 

Voor dit kaartje ben ik begonnen met het maken van kleurblokken. Gestempeld met verf en een kleine vierkante gel printing plate.

Next I added white and pink circles using stencils.

Daarna witte en roze cirkels gemaakt met stencils.

I overstamped the background with turquoise and white paint, Distress Oxide Ink 'Worn Lipstick' and black Archival Ink.

With Love

I started by coloring the card randomly using Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry and Ripe Persimmon.

Eerst kleine stukjes van de kaart gekleurd met Distress Inkt Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry en Ripe Persimmon.

Next I've built up multiple layers using stencils and paint. 

Daarna verschillende laagjes aangebracht met behulp van verf en verschillende stencils. 

I did some mark making to finish the card off.

Ook nog marks gemaakt met een witte en zwarte pen.

I tried to make the pink colors a bit more vivid by using a small amount of orange and magenta paint.

Born to Dance #1

I made this collage for a 14 year old girl who loves dancing. 

I worked on a sheet of mixed media paper, A4 size.

Gemaakt in opdracht, voor een meisje van 14 dat van dansen houdt.

Op een vel mixed media papier gewerkt, A4 formaat. 

I've built up layers using paint, stencils, stamps, book text and tissue paper.

Veel laagjes aangebracht met verf, stempels, stencils, boektekst en stukjes tissue papier.

I spotted the ballerina on Pinterest. I painted her dress in a matching color.

De ballerina vond ik op Pinterest. Haar jurk verfde ik in een bijpassende kleur.

Four different kinds of text. 

Vier soorten tekst bij mekaar.

The girl has a twin sister who loves dancing as well. For her I made the same collage in pink. I will show it later this week so stay tuned :)

Het meisje heeft een tweelingzus met dezelfde hobby. Voor haar maakte ik een roze versie. Die toon ik de volgende keer.
