Wonky Bits #10

 

Last week I made another spread in my tiny Pocket Journal.

Afgelopen week nog eens een spread gemaakt in mijn kleine Pocket Journal.

To create the turquoise and fuchsia dots I applied paint through 2 different stencils.

Voor de fuchsia en turquoise stippen gebruikte ik 2 verschillende stencils en verf.

With paint markers I added lots of marks.

Met verfmarkers stippen, strepen en kruisjes toegevoegd.

The big circles were done with my blending tool using a small amount of pink and orange paint.

De grote cirkels deed ik met mijn blending tool en een heel klein beetje oranje en roze verf.

I decorated the pages with a few of my 'Wonky Bits'. A while ago I took an online course by Willa Wanders. In this course Wendy shows how to draw botanical elements using a fine tip applicator and black paint.

Due to the fact the paint doesn't come out of the tip equally the result is a bit wonky but that's just the intention :)

De pagina's versierd met een paar van mijn 'Wonky Bits'. Een tijd geleden volgde ik een online cursus van Willa Wanders. Daar leerde ik van Wendy bloemen en blaadjes tekenen met een 'fine tip applicator' en zwarte verf.

Tekenen met zo'n applicator waar de verf dan soms ook nog onregelmatig uitkomt zorgt voor een soort van slordig resultaat, maar dat is net de bedoeling :)

To create the green marks I used a paint brush and green paint.

I outlined the marks and dots with a white pen.

Met een penseel en groene verf een rand stippen gemaakt.

De fuchsia rondjes en groene stippen omlijnd met een witte pen.

And of course I added some colored ribbon :)

Kleurige lintjes mochten natuurlijk niet ontbreken :)

 For the 'Tree' topic I made a spread in my large Dylusions Journal.

On the background I used Dylusions Ink Spray, paint and the 'Large Stencil Dots' by Darkroom Door.

Voor het thema 'Tree' maakte ik een spread in mijn groot Dylusions Journal. Op de achtergrond gewerkt met Dylusions Ink Spray, verf en de 'Large Stencil - Dots' van Darkroom Door.

To stamp the tree I used a large foam stamp by Prima and black paint.

I added black stamping to the background using stamps from the 'Grunge Marks' stamp set.

De boom stempelde ik met een grote foam stempel van Prima die ik beïnkte met zwarte verf. Verder nog stempelwerk toegevoegd met stempels uit de 'Grunge Marks' stempelset.

For the quote on the left I used stamps from the 'Sketched Alphabet' stamp set.

De tekst links deed ik met stempels uit de 'Sketched Alphabet' stempelset.

Birthday Cards #1

 

I was in the urgent need of 'fresh' birthday cards so I made a whole bunch of birthday cards in one take.

Ik had niet zoveel verjaardagskaarten meer in voorraad dus ik maakte er ineens maar een hele reeks.

I started by making gel prints. I was inspired by this YouTube video by Denise Lush.

Ik ben begonnen met het maken van gel prints. Ik liet me inspireren door deze YouTube video van Denise Lush.

On the gel prints I added lots of layers using stencils and paint.

 Op de gel prints veel laagjes aangebracht, vooral met stencils en verf.

Most of the birthday wishes I used are by Darkroom Door.

De meeste verjaardagswensen zijn van Darkroom Door.

The black stamping on the backgrounds was done with Rubber Dance stamps.

Het zwarte stempelwerk op de achtergronden deed ik met stempels van Rubber Dance.

The text stamp I used on this card is by Altenew.

De tekst stempel die ik op deze kaart gebruikte is van Altenew.

I was able to cut 12 backgrounds out of the 6 gel prints.

Uit de 6 gel prints kon ik 12 achtergronden snijden.

I will share the 4 remaining cards of this series in the next blogpost.

In een volgende blogpost ga ik de 4 resterende kaarten van deze reeks tonen.

I stamped a beautiful quote stamp by Darkroom Door on top of one of my backgrounds.

Met een mooie tekststempel van Darkroom Door op één van mijn achtergronden gestempeld.

To create the background I applied paint through several stencils. I die cut a panel out of that stenciled background and adhered it to a white card base using 3D tape.

Voor die achtergrond werkte ik met verf en met verschillende stencils. Met een stans een paneeltje uit de achtergrond gesneden en dit verhoogd op een witte kaart geplakt.

Sketched Alphabet #2

The big letters from the Sketched Alphabet stamp set by Darkroom Door are perfect to use in a large Art Journal. This page was done in my Dina Wakley Media Journal.

De grote letters uit de Sketched Alphabet stempelset van Darkroom Door zijn ideaal om te gebruiken in een groot Art Journal. Voor deze pagina werkte ik in mijn Dina Wakley Media Journal.

I started by painting randomly with turquoise and pink paint. To create the circles, dots, crosses and  diamonds I used the Large Stencil Dots, Circles and Grunge Borders by Darkroom Door.

Begonnen met het verven van gedeeltes van de pagina met turquoise en roze verf. Voor de cirkels, stippen, kruisjes en ruiten gebruikte ik de Large Stencil Dots, Circles en Grunge Borders van Darkroom Door. 

I did some stamping on top using stamps from the Number Medley and Grunge Marks set.

I loaded the Large Stencil - Circles with turquoise paint and stamped with that stencil on the background. I added yellow paint using a palette knife. 

Vervolgens ook nog gestempeld met stempels uit de Number Medley en Grunge Marks set.

De Large Stencil -  Circles ingesmeerd met turquoise verf en daarmee gestempeld. Met een paletmes ook hier en daar gele verf aangebracht.

I stamped the letters straight on the background. 

De letters rechtstreeks gestempeld op de achtergrond. 

The large flower from the Gerbera Daisy stamp set was stamped on white paper and cut out. For a 3D effect I curled up the petals.

De grote bloem uit de nieuwe Gerbera Daisy stempelset op dun papier gestempeld en uitgeknipt. Voor een 3D effect de blaadjes een beetje opgekruld.

In did some journaling in the fuchsia circles and made marks with a pink paint marker.

Geschreven in de fuchsia cirkels met een witte pen en ook nog stippen gezet met een roze verfmarker.

Frame

For this spread in my large Dylusions Journal I was inspired by the Online Class 1 by Dyan Reavely on Facebook. I used Dyan's paint, ink sprays and stencils but translated the lesson into my own style.

Voor deze pagina's in mijn groot Dylusions Journal was ik geïnspireerd door de Online Class 1 van Dyan Reavely op Facebook. Ik gebruikte haar verf, inkt en stencils maar maakte er verder mijn eigen versie van.

I created the background using paint and stencils.

De achtergrond gemaakt met verf en stencils.

We had to make a frame using stamped images.

Het was de bedoeling om een soort van frame te maken met uitgeknipt stempelwerk.

So I had to cut out lots and lots of flowers and leaves :)

Dus heel veel bloemen en blaadjes gestempeld en uitgeknipt :)

I colored all the images with Dylusions paint and Dylusions Ink Sprays.

Alles ingekleurd met Dylusions verf en Dylusions Ink Sprays.

I had to try a few compositions before I was happy with the result.

Eindeloos geschoven met alle onderdelen tot ik tevreden was met het resultaat.

Medium Stencil - Alphabet Jumble #3

Last week I made this small book. It measures 10,5 x 15 cm.

Afgelopen week maakte ik dit kleine boekje. Het meet 10,5 x 15 cm.

For the cover I used the new Alphabet Jumble stencil by Darkroom Door in combination with new Dylusions paints.

Voor de kaft gebruikte ik de Alphabet Jumble stencil van Darkroom Door samen met de nieuwe Dylusions verf.

I applied several colors of paint on my large gel printing plate with a brayer. I put the stencil on top to pick up the paint. After misting the loaded stencil with water I made a print on mixed media paper.

Verschillende kleuren verf aangebracht op mijn grote gel printing plate. Daar de stencil overheen gelegd en op die manier verf opgenomen. De stencil weggenomen, er water over verneveld en met deze 'beïnkte' stencil een afdruk gemaakt op mixed media papier.

I glued a gel print to the reverse side of the cover. I used the same paint colors and stencil to make that gel print.

Tegen de binnenkant van de kaft een gel print geplakt. Om de print te maken gebruikte ik dezelfde stencil en dezelfde kleuren Dylusions verf.

For the 2 sections I folded pages out of pink 80 grs paper.

Voor de katernen pagina's gevouwen uit 80 grs roze papier.

 I colored white ribbon with Dylusions paint and attached it to an eyelet that was set into the front cover.

Wit lint gekleurd met Dylusions verf en 3 stroken van dat lint aan de kaft geknoopt. Daarvoor bevestigde ik een eyelet aan het kaftje.

To attach the sections to the cover I applied a 2 section binding by Keith Smith. It's called 'Lattice'.

Om de katernen vast te maken aan de kaft paste ik een boekbindtechniek toe uit een boek van Keith Smith. De naam van de binding is Lattice/Hekwerk.

To bind the book I used green wax thread.

Om te naaien gebruikte ik groene wax draad.
