I'm currently joining Fodder Challenge 2026, an online event hosted by Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik.

Ik neem deze maand deel aan Fodder Challenge 2026, een online event georganiseerd door Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik.

Connie Fong taught us how to make paper dolls. 

Connie Fong leerde ons hoe je deze papieren poppetjes maakt.

Usually I don't do dolls, I never draw or paint faces neither.

Poppen en gezichten doe ik normaal nooit.

But after watching Connie's videos I had to give the dolls a try. To my surprise it was so fun to do, so I made 8 of them :)

Maar na het bekijken van Connie's videos kreeg ik toch wel zin om het te proberen. Tot mijn verbazing was het heel leuk om te doen, ik maakte er ineens 8 :)

As you can see I went all the way with the pompons.

In the next post I'll show you what I did with the girls.

Zoals je kan zien heb ik me helemaal uitgeleefd met de pompons.

In de volgende post toon ik wat ik deed met de meisjes.

In the first lesson Francine Dunigan showed us how to make colorful pears.

In de eerste les toonde Francine Dunigan hoe je kleurrijke peren maakt.

I painted tissue paper, made collage boards and cut out way too many pears :)

Ik verfde tissue papier, maakte collages en knipte veel te veel peren uit :)

I used some of my pears on tags.

Een aantal van de peren gebruikt op labels.

For the background of the tags I worked with modeling past, stencils and paint.

Om de achtergronden van de labels te maken werkte ik met modeling paste, stencils en verf.

To create this pear I punched inchies out of painted tissue paper.

Voor deze peer inchies geponst uit geverfd tissue papier.

This pear was cut out of a collage board made with strips of painted tissue paper.

Deze peer geknipt uit een collage gemaakt met stroken geverfd tissue papier.

I stamped the wishes on a scrap of white paper, set an eyelet and attached the wish to the tag with a Tim Holtz loop pin.

Ik stempelde de wensen op een restje wit papier, bevestigde een eyelet en maakte de wens vast aan het label met een Tim Holtz speldje.

For this pear I used gel prints on tissue paper.

Voor deze peer gebruikte ik gel prints op tissue papier.

To add interest I attached a tab to each tag.

Elk label kreeg een tabje.

I used strips of my home painted gauze as tag toppers.

Om de labels te versieren gebruikte ik stroken van mijn zelf geverfd gaas.

Fodder Challenge 2026 started October 01.

Op 1 oktober startte Fodder Challenge 2026.

In preparation for the new challenge I rummaged through my pile of 'collage fodder' and stumbled upon a bunch of mixed media toadstools I made 2 years ago during Fodder Challenge 2024.

Ter voorbereiding van de nieuwe challenge rommelde ik in mijn voorraad 'collage fodder' en kwam ik een hele stapel paddenstoelen tegen die ik 2 jaar geleden maakte tijdens de 'Fodder Challenge' 2024.

Back then I used some of the mushrooms on cards.

Toen maakte ik een reeks kaarten met de paddenstoelen.

Now I adhered them to tags.

Nu koos ik voor labels.

To do the background of the tags I sprayed with Dylusions Ink Sprays through stencils.

Om de achtergrond van de labels te maken sprayde ik Dylusions Ink Sprays doorheen stencils.

I did some black stamping...

Ik voegde zwart stempelwerk...

 ...and white stenciling on top of the inked backgrounds.

...en wit stencilwerk toe aan de beïnkte achtergronden.

I finished some of the tags off with strips of colored gauze.

Sommige labels werkte ik af met stroken gekleurd gaas.

Stamped numbers always look good :)

Gestempelde nummers staan altijd goed :)

The gauze was colored with Dylusions Ink Sprays as well.

Het gaas kleurde ik ook met Dylusions Ink Sprays.

For a black and white accent I used handmade paper on this tag.

Voor een zwart/wit accent een strook handgeschept papier opgeplakt.

For the wishes I used stamps by Different Colors... 

Voor de wensen stempels van Different Colors gebruikt...

...and one by Hero Arts. 

...en eentje van Hero Arts.

I have al lot of ribbon scraps, ideal for tag toppers.

Ik heb veel restjes lint, ideaal om de labels mee te versieren.

Sympathy Cards

 

I made a set of quick and easy Sympathy Cards.

Een reeks simpele sterkte kaarten gemaakt.

For the background I used gel prints from my stash.

Voor de achtergrond gel prints uit mijn voorraad gebruikt.

I overstamped the background with a quote stamp by Darkroom Door.

De achtergrond overstempeld met een stempel van Darkroom Door.

On the background of this card I used a stamped print.

Voor de achtergrond van deze kaart een gestempelde print gekozen.

I finished off each card by adhering a matching button.

Elke kaart afgewerkt met een bijpassende knoop.

Summer Creative Retreat #6

 

As part of the 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' I joined the class 'Colorful Watercolor Donuts' with Shannon Layne.

Bij de 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' nam ik deel aan de online les 'Colorful Watercolor Donuts' met Shannon Layne.

I painted a pink one as well as a chocolate one.

Ik schilderde een roze versie en een chocolade versie.

It was again an exercise in adding shadow and depth.

Het was opnieuw een oefening in het aanbrengen van diepte en schaduw.

I finished both pages off by making splatters with watercolor paint and white acrylic paint.

Beide pagina's afgewerkt met spetters. Ik maakte ze met aquarelverf en met witte acrylverf.

My donuts turned out quite wonky but I learned a lot and it was fun to do.

Niet echt blij met het resultaat maar ik heb veel bijgeleerd en het was leuk om te doen.
