Let it Snow #2

Deze twee 'sneeuwkaartjes' gemaakt met achtergrondjes uit mijn voorraad. Ze werden door de Cuttlebug gehaald met een 'noppen' folder en daarna lichtjes opgeschuurd.

I made these 2 cards with backgrounds out of my supplies. I embossed them in the Cuttlebug and sanded the surface lightly, so white dots appeared.

Achtergrond gemaakt met een beetje Glimmer Mist Chalkboard # Charcoal, een druppel Distress Inkt # Weathered Wood uit een navulflesje en water.

Gemat op een stuk papier dat gekleurd werd met dezelfde kleur onverdunde Glimmer Mist.

I made this background with some Glimmer Mist Chalkboard #Charcoal, a drop of Weathered Wood Distress Ink from a refill bottle and water.

I glued the background on a piece of paper that was colored with the same Glimmer Mist.

Achtergrond gemaakt met verschillende kleuren blauwe Distress Inkt en Pumice Stone.

The background is made of several colors of blue Distress Ink and Pumice Stone.

De letters werden ook geëmbossed met Seafoam White.

Stamping with Paint #2

Dit kerstkaartje in rood en groen is ook met acrylverf gemaakt.

For this Christmas card in green and red, I only used acrylic paint.

De kleine vierkantjes zijn gestempeld met verf en op dunne kartonnetjes geplakt.


The little squares are stamped with paint and glued onto thin cardboard.

Voor de rode achtergrond een stuk papier met acrylverf geschilderd, door de Cuttlebug gehaald, opgeschuurd, ingesmeerd met Gesso en het teveel er weer afgehaald met een babydoekje.

The red background is painted with red acrylic paint, embossed in the Cuttlebug and sanded. After painting with Gesso, I wiped of the Gesso with a baby wipe.

Stamping with Paint #1

Een beetje geëxperimenteerd met acrylverf vandaag. Voor deze kaartjes heb ik een 'negatiefstempel' en een Cuttlebug embossingfolder ingesmeerd met verf.

Ik beschik alleen over acrylverf in tubes, ik heb geen zo'n handige Paint Dabbers in mijn voorraad. Het was dus wel even knoeien om de verf goed op de stempel te krijgen. Een stempelkussen blijft handiger om mee te stempelen, dat is zeker :)

Today I did some experimenting with acrylic paint. To make these cards I put paint on a negative stamp and on a Cuttlebug embossingfolder.

I have no Paint Dabbers in my supplies, so it took me a while to get the paint on the stamp in the right way. I made a hugh mess as well, so I certainly prefer inkpads for stamping :)

De gekleurde inktkussens in de doos gelaten deze keer. Ik wilde een kaartje maken in bruine tinten, een kleur waar ik meestal niet zo vlug naar grijp. Het chocolade thema past hier wel bij vind ik :)

Het  meisje is een freebie van Elizabeth van the last door...down the hall. 

I left the colored inkpads in the box this time. I wanted to make a card in brown colors, not an obvious choise for me. I think the chocolate theme  fits well here :)

Floral Fantasy

Voor deze kaartjes heb ik mijn inspiratie gehaald uit het Art Specially magazine "Louise's Journey". Daarin beschrijft Louise Kolker stap voor stap de hier gebruikte techniek.

These cards are inspired by an example I saw in  Art Specially magazine "Louise's Journey". In this magazine, Louise Kolker describes step by step the technique I used here.

De Cuttlebug mal Floral Fantasy aan één kant beïnkten met dyebased inkt (hier Adirondack Lettuce, Cranberry en Raspberry), bespuiten met water, papier inleggen en het geheel door de Cuttlebug halen. Mijn afdrukken zijn feller van kleur dan bij het voorbeeld van Louise, het resultaat hangt af van de hoeveelheid inkt en water. Het meisje is een stempel uit de Gorgeous Kids set van Art Journey.

Put dyebased ink (here Adirondack Lettuce, Raspberry and Cranberry) on one half of the Floral Fantasy Cuttlebug template. Spray water on top of the ink, add paper  and emboss in the Cuttlebug. My prints are a lot darker than those of Louise, the result depends on the quantity of ink and water that's used. The girl is a stamp out of the Gorgeous Kids collection from Art Journey.

Pink and brown

Wegens een constant gebrek aan tijd, ben ik te vinden voor kaartjes waar weinig werk aan is, maar waar je toch veel effect mee bekomt. Het volgende kaartje is er zo eentje. 

Because I'm always short of time, I love simple cards with great effect. The next card is such one.

 

Gemaakt van een restje handgeschept papier dat door de Cuttlebug gehaald werd. Daarna het oppervlak bewerkt met een dun laagje witte stempelinkt (Color Box Frost White). Het kralenlint komt van de kringloopwinkel, het medaillon is van Making Memories.

Made of a left-over of handmade paper. The paper is embossed in the Cuttlebug and treated wit a thin layer of white stamp ink (Color Box Frost White). I found the ribbon with the little beads in the recycle shop, the embellishment is from Making Memories.
