Photo a Day 'January'

Heel hartelijk bedankt voor de vele enthousiaste reacties bij het bericht over het fotoboek dat ik maakte met mijn dagelijkse foto's van 2013. 

Daar ben ik heel blij mee!

Dit jaar ga ik gewoon verder met het project.

Dit jaar doe ik mee met fmsphotoaday. Elke maand wordt daar een lijstje met opdrachten aangeleverd. Ik gebruik dat lijstje als inspiratiebron. 

We posten met een hele bende elke dag onze foto's op Instagram.

Art Journey Challenge #42 '75% White'

 Er start vandaag een nieuwe uitdaging bij Art Journey Design Team Blog. Deze keer was ik aan de beurt om het thema te kiezen en ik koos voor '75% Wit'

Ik maakte deze kaartjes als voorbeeld voor de challenge.

I made this set of cards to inspire you.

Op een 10 x 10 kaartje gestempeld met tekst stempels. Daar een paar lagen gesso overheen gezet. 

Stamped on a 4 x 4" card with text stamps. Added a few coats of gesso on top.

Structuur aangebracht met gesso en een sjabloon.

Added texture with gesso and a template.

Deze  fuchsia versie is op dezelfde manier opgebouwd.

This fuchsia card was build up the same way.

De gesso structuur iets 'naar voor' gehaald door er met stempelinkt lichtjes overheen te gaan.

Highlighted the texture with ink from an inkpad.

Ik ben altijd op zoek naar mooie knoopjes. Af en toe komen ze dan van pas.

I'm always on the hunt for cute buttons. Used 2 of them on these cards.

Cards and Tins 27

Weer eens een kaartje gemaakt voor mijn 'Cards and Tins' reeks, dat was lang geleden!

En deze keer heb ik mijn maatje Godelieve uitgedaagd om met hetzelfde blikje aan de slag te gaan. Ik ben heel benieuwd hoe zij dat aanpakte, jullie ook?

Made another card for my 'Cards and Tins' series. 

This time I asked my friend Godelieve to join me. I've sent her an identical tin and asked her to make a card inspired by this tin.

Voor deze uitdaging koos ik dit mooie drankblikje uit.

For this challenge I've chosen this beautiful beverage can.

Er stelde zich al meteen een probleem: die groene kleur van het blikje....

Ik heb mijn meest lijkende kleur acrylverf gezocht en een gelli print gemaakt om te gebruiken als achtergrond.

The tin has an unusual green color, quite a challenge in itself :)

I picked the most corresponding tube acrylic paint out of my stash and made a gelli print to use as a background for this card.

Mijn granaatappel sjabloon kwam hier goed van pas. Gewerkt met structuurpasta en de print na droging gekleurd met 2 soorten rode acrylverf en gesso.

Used my pomegranate template in combination with molding paste, red acrylic paints and gesso. 

Een klaproos getransformeerd in een granaatappel. Hiervoor een paar lagen gesloopt van een bestaande bloem en er kralen ingeplakt met gel medium.

Transformed a poppy into a pomegranate. Removed the centre out of a ready made poppy and added a lot of beads. Glued them in place with gel medium.

De randjes van het blik nagebootst met washi tape. Ook een dun goudkleurig ijzerdraadje bevestigd langs de tape rand.

Added washi tape and wire to the top and the bottom of the card.

Vilten letters met gesso bewerkt.

Colored felt letters with gesso.

Let it Snow

(Nog) geen sneeuw hier maar dat heeft mij niet belet om een sneeuwbal in hartvorm te maken :)

Zo'n mini canvasje (10 x 10cm) maken is heel leuk, zeker als je het in goed gezelschap kan doen.

Haven't seen snow yet here this winter but that didn't prevent me from making a heart shaped snowball :)

Making a mini canvas (4 x 4") is fun to do, especially when you're in good company!

Laagjes gemaakt van papier, tissue papier, verf....

Build up layers of paper, tissue paper, paint...

Een hart gemaakt met structuurpasta en daar met een tandenstoker motiefjes in aangebracht.

Made a heart with molding paste. Used a skewer to add details.

Letters, sneeuwvlokken en stippen aangebracht met verf, StazOn inkt en sjablonen.

Added lettres, dots and snowflakes with StazOn ink, paint and templates.

Details getekend met een zwart pennetje.

Added some penwork with a black fineliner.

Ik heb stapels gedessineerd papier liggen en ik gebruikt het bijna nooit. Meestal kleur, verf, stempel...ik de achtergronden van mijn kaartjes. Voor deze kaart toch eens een papiertje gebruikt uit de mooie collectie van Eline's Huis.

I have lots of patterned paper and I never use it. I usually stamp or paint the backgrounds of my cards. Today it was time for a change :)

Used paper from the 'Eline's Huis' collection.

Alleen het jurkje van het meisje lichtjes ingekleurd met een roze Distress Marker. Op de jute bloemetjes plakte ik een plakparel.

I colored the dress of the girl with a pink Distress Marker. 

Added enamel dots to the centre of the burlap flowers.

Filmstrip tape paste hier goed.

Used filmstrip washi tape.
