Dit is de laatste pagina voor het Art Journal van Jessica.

Voor de schilderstape achtergrond vond ik inspiratie bij Karin. 

This is the fourth and final page for Jessica's Art Journal.

I made a background with masking tape. A tag by Karin inspired me.

Kriskras schilderstape geplakt en daar overheen gesprayed met Dylusions inkt.  Er nog een laagje gel medium over aangebracht om zeker te zijn dat de tape zou blijven kleven. Het gel medium geeft ook en subtiel glanslaagje aan het oppervlak.

I put strips of masking tape on the background an colored the surface with Dylusions Ink. Added a layer of gel medium to ensure the tape would stick to the page. The gel medium creates a subtle shimmery effect.

 De grote bloem is gestempeld met StazOn 'Cherry Pink'.

I stamped the large flower with StazOn 'Cherry Pink'.

Thrift Store Findings

Een gunstige wind bracht mij deze week deze gevouwen kraanvogel.

Een aardigheidje van Ingrid van ingthings. Meteen een goed onderwerp voor een foto.

I found this origami crane in my letter box last week, a random act of kindness by Ingrid (ingthings). A very good subject for a picture to me!

En om in de sfeer van Ingrid's blog te blijven hier een paar foto's met mijn nieuwe aanwinsten uit de kringwinkel.

Een punnikklosje...

Ingrid loves thrift store findings. She inspired me to take some pictures of my own thrift store findings.

A spool for French knitting...

...en een paar vogeltjes.  

...and some cute birds.

Zoals het meestal gaat met mijn kringloopvondsten: ik zet die een tijdje ergens neer, maak een paar foto's en veel kans dat die na een poos weer terug in de kringwinkel belanden.

 I put them in my neighborhood for some time, take some pictures and after a while they'll probably end up in the thrift store again. That's the way it usually goes with my findings.

Maar deze rode sterren komen volgende kerstperiode zeker weer tevoorschijn!

Quite sure these red stars will reappear next Christmas!

Soms kunnen kringloopvondsten ook perfect gerecycleerd worden.

De blokkenpuzzel werd een kadootje klik en voor één van de boeken met linnen kaft heb ik ook al een bestemming.

Thrift store findings can perfectly be recycled. I altered the puzzle click and I used one of the books with linen cover for a project I'm working on.

Dit weekend ga ik deze gerecycleerde boekenkaft vullen met pagina's. Wordt een boekje voor alle zelfgemaakte kerstkaarten die ik kreeg.

 Wordt vervolgd...

This weekend I'll make some time to fill this altered book cover with some pages. I have the intention to use it as an album for the homemade Christmas cards I received.

Hier nog een dubbele pagina voor het Prima Art Journal van Jessica.

This is another spread for Jessica's Art Journal by Prima.

Veel laagjes gesso en verf voor de achtergrond.

Lots of layers of gesso and paint for the background.

De stippen zijn gezet met StazOn stempelinkt.

Made the dots with StazOn ink.

De vogels zijn gestempeld op allerlei restjes papier.

I stamped the birds on scraps out of my stash.

Een tekststempel van Darkroom Door over de vogels gezet.

Did some stamping on top with a text stamp by Darkroom Door.

Prima #1

Ik maakte voor Jessica een paar pagina's voor haar Art Journal van Prima. 

 Jessica stuurde/gaf verschillende mensen een paar lege pagina's om te vullen. Het is de bedoeling dat het gevulde boekje daarna terug gestuurd wordt naar Prima.

I made a few pages for Jessica's Art Journal by Prima.

Jessica sent/gave several people a few blank pages to fill. The aim is to return the filled Art Journal to Prima.

De kraft kleur van de pagina bedekt met een dun laagje gesso en daarna strepen gezet met turquoise acrylverf. De 'Postcards' achtergrondstempel van Darkroom Door op verschillende plaatsen afgedrukt.

Covered the kraft page with a thin layer of gesso first. After drying I added stripes of turquoise paint. Did some random stamping with the 'Postcards' Background Stamp.

Daarna met verschillende templates aan de slag gegaan en een oude postzegel opgeplakt.

Used different templates to make all kinds of patterns and added an old stamp.

Het grote hart met Memories 'Black' afgedrukt en wat structuur aangebracht door kleine pomponnetjes op te kleven.

I stamped the big heart with Memories 'Black' and addes some texture with the small pompons.

A Year in Blog Posts

Een kleine samenvatting gemaakt van wat er het voorbije jaar zo al op mijn blog kwam. 

Made a summary of what happend at my blog last year. 

Januari/January

 In januari startte ik Stamp Carving 101 bij Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. De hartjes op de achtergrond van deze kaart zijn gestempeld met mijn eerste zelf gekerfde stempel ooit.

In January I started Stamp Carving 101, an online stamp carving class by Julie Fei-Fan Balzer. The hearts on the background of this card were stamped with my first hand carved stamp.

Februari/February

Deze quick & easy kaarten gingen op Pinterest een eigen leven leiden. Ze zijn ontelbare keren gepind. Nog elke dag worden ze bekeken op mijn blog. Besluit: het moet niet ingewikkeld zijn om succes te hebben :)

These quick & easy cards started their own life on Pinterest. They were/are pinned and repinned a lot of times. No need to make complicated cards, the simple cards are often the most popular ones :)

Maart/March

Veel met washi tape gewerkt dit jaar. Er staat ondertussen een 'washi tape' label hier in de kantlijn. Dat brengt je naar alle tape kaarten.

Used a lot of washi tape last year. There is a washi tape label in the right sidebar of this blog. This leads you to all of my tape projects.

April

 Elke week een Photoshop Friday lesje gevolgd bij Jessica Sprague. Het was de bedoeling om aan het eind van het jaar een boekje te maken van die 52 pagina's. Ik moet nog een ferme inhaalbeweging maken...

Each Friday there was a Photoshop Friday lesson by Jessica Sprague in my mailbox. I had the intention to make a book with the 52 lay-outs at the end of the year. There is still some catching up to do...

Ook af en toe een fotootje bewerkt.

From time to time I did some photo editing.

Juni/Juin

Niet veel boekjes gemaakt in 2012 maar daar zal dit jaar verandering in komen!

Didn't make a lot of books in 2012 but that will change in 2013!

Juli/July

Via online lesjes van Christy Tomlinson (Your Living Canvas) met een Art Journal gestart. Nog geen spijt van gehad!

Through an online workshop by Christy Tomlinson (Your Living Canvas) I started my own Art Journal last year. No regrets yet!

Augustus/August

De kleurige kaarten vind ik toch vaak de mooiste...

Bold colors...definitely my favorites...

September

Met de 'Cards & Tins' reeks ga ik gewoon door.

Oktober/October

Donna Downey persoonlijk ontmoet in Gent en veel van haar opgestoken!

I met Donna Downey in Gent (Belgium) and learned a lot of tips and tricks from her!

November

 In 2012 werd ik lid van het Art Journey design team en dat vind ik nog steeds heel leuk!

In 2012 I became a member of the Art Journey design team. I'm so honorred to be part of this team!

December

Make over van een sardienenblik. Dit jaar wil ik nog meer gaan recycleren.

Make over of a sardine tin. I'm intending to recycle more often this year.

En wat zal 2013 brengen? 

Er zitten al een paar dingen 'in de pijplijn' waar ik wel zin in heb!

What will 2013 bring me? 

There are few things 'in the pipeline' yet, I'm looking forward to it!
