Pink & Brown #2

 

I did a few experiments with new color combinations lately.

I applied brown, pink and green strips of paint to a gel printing plate and made a print.

Onlangs een aantal nieuwe kleurencombinaties uitgeprobeerd.

Bruine, roze en groene stroken verf aangebracht op de gel printing plate en een afdruk gemaakt.

I added dots, numbers and letters using stencils and paint. I overstamped the gel print with various stamps using paint. On the flower I applied the same colors as I used on the background.

I finished the card off by making marks with a white POSCA pen.

Letters, cijfers en stippen aangebracht met verf en stencils. Ook gestempeld op de gel print met verf. De bloem geverfd met dezelfde kleuren verf die ik ook voor de achtergrond gebruikte. De kaart afgewerkt met een witte pen.

I used stencils to add squares, dots and script.

On the bird I applied the same colors as I used on the background.

I finished the card off by making marks with a white POSCA pen.

De roze hokjes, de stippen en het script deed ik met stencils en verf.

Het vogeltje geverfd met dezelfde kleuren verf die ik ook voor de achtergrond gebruikte.

Details aangebracht met een witte POSCA pen.

Snippet Rolls #4

 

This time I used small parts of the Snippet Rolls from this blogpost as tabs.

Stukjes van de 'Snippet Rolls' uit deze blogpost dit keer ingezet als tabjes.

The backgrounds of today's cards were cut out of gel prints.

Voor de achtergrond van de kaarten van vandaag gebruikte ik gel prints.

I cut a matching part from a Snippet Roll and attached it to the card. I decorated the tab with a flower.

Een bijpassend stukje van de gestikte reep restjes afgeknipt en op de kaart bevestigd. Er nog een roosje overheen geplakt.

The wishes on the cards were done with stamps from the Birthday Greetings stamp set by Darkroom Door.

De verjaardagswensen deed ik met stempels uit de recente Birthday Greetings stempelset van Darkroom Door.

I stamped the flowers straight onto the gel prints.

De bloemen rechtstreeks op de gel prints gestempeld.

Leftovers #2

 

I again used a leftover background on this card. It was made using a stencil and Distress Oxide Ink. I wasn't happy with the result at the time but now I managed to hide most of the imperfections behind the flower :)

Opnieuw een achtergrond gebruikt van de stapel restjes. Gemaakt met een stencil en Distress Oxide Inkt en niet helemaal goed gelukt. De minst mooie delen zitten verstopt onder de bloem :)

I picked the flower from the pile of leftover stamped prints. The wish was stamped straight onto the card.

De bloem komt ook uit de restjesbak. De wens stempelde ik rechtstreeks op de kaart.

When looking at the finished card I noticed the strips of paper that are underneath the flower are just a bit too short. I tried to make things look longer by adding a piece of waxed thread :)

Achteraf gezien vond ik de strookjes papier onder de bloem net iets tekort. Het koordje helpt mee om hieraan te verhelpen en het geheel langer te doen lijken :)

Leftovers #1

 

Recently I sorted out all kinds of unfinished projects and leftovers from projects. I ended up with a pile of backgrounds and a pile of stamped/painted... prints. Today's card was made with one of the backgrounds and a few leftover painted flowers and leaves.

Onlangs onafgewerkte projecten en restjes gesorteerd en opgeruimd. Ik eindigde met een stapel achtergronden en een stapel gestempelde/geverfde... afbeeldingen. Een achtergrond van de ene stapel en een paar bloemen en blaadjes van de andere stapel leverde deze kaart op.

On top of the gel printed background I added white and fuchsia stamping. 

The flowers and leaves were painted with watercolor paint. 

De achtergrond is een gel print waar ik met witte verf en fuchsia inkt op stempelde.

De bloemen en de blaadjes verfde ik met aquarelverf.

Snippet Rolls #3

 

Obviously I had to try the Snippet Rolls from this blogpost on cards as well.

Natuurlijk wilde ik de stroken papier uit deze blogpost ook op kaarten uitproberen.

I trimmed 2 pieces to size and attached them to black card stock.

 Twee stukken op maat gesneden en op zwart kaart karton gepakt.

Love how the colors stand out against the black background.

Op het zwarte papier komen de felle kleurtjes extra goed uit.

I stamped text on small strips of white paper and glued that over the colored scraps.

Tekst gestempeld op reepjes wit papier en over de gekleurde restjes gekleefd.

Snippet Rolls #2

 

I used two pieces of the Snippet Rolls I shared in my previous blogpost on two basic Ikea notebooks.

Twee stukken van de stroken papier die ik in de vorige blogpost toonde gebruikt om twee simpele Ikea schriftjes te versieren.

I've cut the piece to size and attached a button to one end of the strip of paper. I machine stitched a piece of ribbon to the other end of the paper.

Een stuk op maat gesneden. Aan het ene uiteinde een knoop erop genaaid en aan de andere kant een stuk zelf geverfd lint opgestikt.

I attached the colored strips to the notebooks using double-sided tape.

De kleurige stroken op de kaften gekleefd met dubbelzijdige tape.

I folded the strips of paper over the spine to the backside of the notebooks.

De stroken papier over de rug gevouwen en laten doorlopen op de achterkant van de schriftjes.

The ribbon can be wrapped around the notebook twice and attached around the button as a closure.

Om het schrift dicht te maken kan het lint twee keer rond het schrift worden gewikkeld en dan worden vastgezet rond de knoop.

I'm joining 'Willa Journals', an online bookbinding workshop by Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik. In one of the bonus lessons she demonstrates how to make these 'Snippet Rolls'.

Ik schreef me vorig jaar in voor de online workshop 'Willa Journals' van Willa Wanders aka Wendy Solganik. In één van de bonus lessen demonstreert ze hoe je deze 'Snippet Rolls' maakt.

All there's required: lots of scraps :)

Alles wat er nodig is: véél restjes :)

Even the tiniest bits and bobs are useful.

Zelfs de kleinste stukjes zijn bruikbaar.

Finally I could use the tag that I have for ages. It came with a set of washi tape.

Eindelijk kon ik het label gebruiken dat ik al jaren bewaar. Het zat bij een set washi tape.

I used leftover gel prints, patterned paper, packaging paper, tissue paper, ribbon, stamped prints, painted paper, handmade paper....

Ik gebruikte restjes van gel prints, gedessineerd papier, inpakpapier, tissue papier, lint, gestempelde prints, geverfd papier, handgeschept papier....

These rolls are great to have at the ready. I already used parts of the rolls on a few projects.
