For this card I stamped the 'Bottlebrush Trees' by Tim Holtz using various colors of Distress Oxide Ink.

I'm wishing you all a wonderful Christmas time.

Ransom Alphabet #3

 

Today I'm sharing another card I made using the new Ransom Alphabet stamp set by Darkroom Door. First I picked a range of Distress Oxide Inks out of my stash.

Nog een kaartje dat ik maakte met de nieuwe Ransom Alphabet stempel set van Darkroom Door. Hiervoor een heleboel kleurtjes Distress Oxide Inkt uit de kast getrokken.

Next I created a grid pattern by sponging various colors of Distress Oxide Inks through the 'Small Stencil - Square Set'. I cut a square panel ( 6 x 6'') out of that grid pattern.

Eerst een rasterpatroon gemaakt door met verschillende kleuren Distress Oxide Inkt te sponzen doorheen de 'Small Stencil - Square Set'. Uit dit raster een vierkant gesneden van 15 x 15 cm.

I randomly overstamped the colored background using stamps from the new Mini Marks stamp set.

I looked for a quote about 'color' and stamped the letters on scraps of white paper using Archival Ink 'Jet Black' and Distress Oxide Ink. After cutting out I put the letters in the right order and adhered them to the card.

Cutting out these letters is definitely a piece of cake :)

I added a few accents with a black fineliner.

Met stempels uit de nieuwe Mini Marks stempel set op willekeurige plaatsen gestempeld op de kaart. 

Een quote over 'kleur' gezocht en de letters hiervoor gestempeld op restjes wit papier met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black' en ook met Distress Oxide Inkt. Na het uitknippen de quote samengesteld en de letters op de kaart geplakt. Het uitknippen van die letters, dat is echt een meevaller :)

Nog wat accenten aangebracht met een zwarte fineliner.

I recently joined the 'Tis the Season' workshop on Facebook by Jo Firth-Young.

For this card I was inspired by this workshop. 

Recent nam ik deel aan de 'Tis the Season' workshop op Facebook van Jo Firth-Young. Dit kaartje is geïnspireerd op deze workshop. 

It was all about the new stamp set JoFY 119, the one with the large wobbly tree.

All the stamps used on this card are from this set, except for the Christmas wish.

De stempels die ik gebruikte komen allemaal uit de nieuwe JoFY 119 set, behalve de wens. De workshop stond dan ook in het teken van deze nieuwe stempelset.

I also made 2 cards using the cute 'Mini Marks' stamps by Darkroom Door.

Ook nog 2 kaartjes gemaakt met de leuke 'Mini Marks' stempels van Darkroom Door in de hoofdrol.

I started by making a few gel prints to use on the background. I applied various colors of acrylic paint onto a gel printing plate and pulled some prints. For this card I used a ghost print.

Voor de achtergronden van beide kaarten eerst gel prints gemaakt. Verschillende kleuren acrylverf in strepen aangebracht op een gel printing plate en prints gemaakt. Voor deze kaart gebruikte ik een ghost print.

I overstamped the gel prints randomly with stamps from the 'Mini Marks' set using various colors of Archival Ink. The beautiful quote is from the new 'Sunflowers' stamp set.

Met verschillende kleuren Archival Inkt en stempels uit de 'Mini Marks' set willekeurig gestempeld over de achtergrond. De mooie quote komt uit de nieuwe 'Sunflowers' stempel set. 

This card was done the same way. I finished it off by stamping leaves and a birthday wish.

Voor deze kaart op dezelfde manier te werk gegaan. Afgewerkt met een takje en een verjaardagswens.

Darkroom Door recently released a lot of new stamp sets. 

On this set of tags I used the new 'Mini Marks' stamp set.

Recent bracht Darkroom Door weer veel nieuwe stempels uit.  

Voor de 3 labels van vandaag werkte ik met de nieuwe 'Mini Marks' stempel set.

I started by die cutting tags out of watercolor paper and stamped the sunflowers, dots, squares and script onto the tags using white acrylic paint. The tags were colored with Distress Ink. I used the new color 'Lumberjack Plaid', tried out a few color combinations with that vibrant red color.

Eerst de labels gesneden uit aquarelpapier. Daarna met witte acrylverf de zonnebloemen, het script, de dots en de hokjes gestempeld. Daarna de labels gekleurd met Distress Inkt. Ik werkte met de nieuwe kleur 'Lumberjack Plaid'. Ik probeerde een drietal kleurcombinaties uit met deze levendige rode kleur. 

For each tag I applied 3 colors of Distress Ink onto a craft sheet, sprayed water on top and dragged the tags through that puddle. The white paint works as a resist, love the outcome! After drying I made some splatters on the tags using water.

Telkens 3 kleuren inkt op een craft sheet aangebracht, daar water over verneveld en de labels door die inkt 'gesleept'. De witte verf werkt als een resist, het resultaat verraste me. Na het drogen spetters gemaakt met water. 

I used stamps from the 'Mini Marks' set to overstamp the colored background. For the stamping I used the same colors as I used on the background but in the Oxide version. 

Met stempels van de 'Mini Marks' set gestempeld over de gekleurde achtergrond. Ik gebruikte dezelfde kleuren inkt maar in de Oxide versie.

There are 18 stamps in the set so there is a lot of choice! Yet I limited myself to 2 à 3 different stamps per tag. Together with the tone on tone stamping this ensures an outcome that is not too busy.

Er zitten 18 motieven in de set, veel keuze dus! Ik koos er toch voor om maar 2 à 3 verschillende stempels te gebruiken per label. Samen met de toon op toon kleuren zorgt dit ervoor dat het eindresultaat niet al te druk wordt.
