Medium Stencil Alphabet Jumble #2

I  made 2 cards using the new Alphabet Jumble stencil by Darkroom Door. I was inspired by a facebook live by Tim Holtz in which he demonstrated a few techniques with Distress Crayons.

Twee kaartjes gemaakt met de nieuwe Alphabet Jumble stencil van Darkroom Door. 

Ik zag een stukje van een facebook live van Tim Holtz waarin hij techieken toonde met Distress Crayons. 

I started by applying a layer of gel medium to the card bases. After drying I colored the backgrounds with Distress Crayons. On this photo you can see the brush strokes created with the gel medium, love the effect.

Eerst gel medium gesmeerd op 2 kaartachtergronden. Deze laag zorgt voor een mooie textuur. Na droging de achtergronden gekleurd met Distress Crayons. 

I removed some of the color by rubbing through the stencil with a baby wipe.

Kleur weggenomen doorheen de stencil met een babydoekje.

I finished both cards off by adding stamped images and a quote in black and white.

Beide kaarten verder afgewerkt met zwart/wit stempelwerk.

Always Flowers #2

After watching one of Dina Wakley's daily demo's I made a bunch of backgrounds using paint and stencils. Today's card was again done with one of these backgrounds.

On this card I stamped the flower straight to the background. Here I did the stamping on white paper.

Na het bekijken van één van Dina Wakley's dagelijkse filmpjes maakte ik een hele reeks achtergronden met verf en stencils. Voor de kaart van vandaag opnieuw één van deze achtergronden gebruikt.

Op deze kaart stempelde ik de bloem rechtstreeks op de achtergrond. Hier gekozen voor een witte bloem.

Collaging

After watching THIS VIDEO by Dina Wakley I did an attempt on collaging in my Dina Wakley Art Journal. 

Na het bekijken van DEZE VIDEO van Dina Wakley een poging gedaan om een collage te maken in mijn Dina Wakley Art Journal.

I started by creating a background using stencils and paint.

Begonnen met het maken van een achtergrond met stencils en verf.

For the collaging elements I used images from one of Dina's Collage Collective books together with bits and pieces that were on my desk.

Om de collage samen te stellen gebruikte ik elementen uit een Dina Wakley Media Collage Collective boek samen met dingen die ik op mijn werktafel vond.

Underneath the girl I adhered strips of paper.

Onder het meisje repen papier geplakt.

I also added torn strips of Dina's tissue paper.

Ook hier gescheurde stroken tissue papier opgeplakt.

According to Dina "connecting" is the key word when it comes to collaging.

Alle elementen met mekaar verbinden is de sleutel, volgens Dina.

I decorated the fabric page on the left with tissue paper flowers.

Voor de stoffen pagina links maakte ik bloemen van tissue papier.

The tissue paper was colored with Dylusions Ink Sprays.

Het tissue papier eerst gekleurd met Dylusions Ink Sprays.

 Next to the focal image I added more stamping using pink, white and orange paint.

Naast de zwarte bloem nog extra stempelwerk toegevoegd met oranje, witte en roze verf.

I finished the card off by adhering torn strips of tissue paper and by making white splatters.

Verder ook gescheurde strookjes tissue papier opgeplakt en witte spetters gemaakt.

Masking 3 Ways

Today I'm sharing 2 cards on which I applied the "Masking 3 Ways" technique.

Vandaag toon ik 2 kaartjes waarbij ik de "Masking 3 Ways" techniek toepaste.

The white leaves were done with the regular masking technique, the orange ones with the reverse masking technique.

De witte blaadjes deed ik met de gewone masking techniek, de oranje blaadjes zijn gedaan met de omgekeerde masking techniek.

To create the blue leaves I stamped with the mask.

Tenslotte stempelde ik nog met de blaadjes mask en blauwe verf.

On this card I used a home made mask. I punched a circle out of mixed media paper.

Voor dit kaartje een zelfgemaakt masker gebruikt. Ik ponste een cirkel uit stevig mixed media papier.
