On the background I used paint, stamps and a stencil. The green squares were heat embossed.

Case Bound Book #1

A long time ago I took part in a series of bookbinding courses. Last week I stumbled upon a box in which I found a few text blocks I sewed at that time. I decided to make a case bound book using one of the 5 x 5" text blocks. 

Héél lang geleden volgde ik een aantal cursussen boekbinden. Ik vond onlangs een doos terug met daarin een aantal reeds genaaide boekblokken/tekstblokken die nog dateren uit die tijd. De afgelopen week met zo'n boekblokje van 12,5 op 12,5 cm een boekje gemaakt met harde kaft.

On the spine I used turquoise bookbinding linen cloth. The covers were decorated with handmade paper. 

Voor de rug gebruikte ik turquoise boekbindlinnen. De kartonnen kaften beplakte ik met handgeschept papier.

I painted a stamped bird in matching colors.

Een gestempeld vogeltje in bijpassende kleuren geverfd.

The text block was made out of cream colored copy paper.

Het boekblok bestaat uit crèmekleurig schrijfpapier. 

For the end papers I used paper from a paper pad by Tim Holtz.

Voor de schutbladen gebruikte ik papier uit een papierblok van Tim Holtz.

I decorated the reading ribbons with 2 beads.

Voor aan het leeslint 2 bijpassende kralen uitgezocht.

Fallen Leaves #2

This is a quick and easy card I made using the new Fallen Leaves Texture Stamp by Darkroom Door. 

Hier een heel simpel kaartje dat ik maakte met de nieuwe Fallen Leaves Texture Stamp van Darkroom Door.

I started by painting this background and cutting it in half.

Eerst deze achtergrond geverfd en in 2 gesneden.

I stamped parts of the Fallen Leaves and Dandelions stamp on top using black ink. I adhered the panel to a top fold card. To finish the card off I added white marks and a wish.

De Fallen Leaves en de Dandelions stempel gedeeltelijk afgedrukt met zwarte inkt. Witte stippen getekend en ook nog een wens opgeplakt. Alles op een dubbele kaart geplakt.

Fallen Leaves #1

This is the first card of a series of 4 I made with the new Fallen Leaves Texture Stamp by Darkroom Door.

Hier het eerste van 4 kaartjes dat ik maakte met de nieuwe Fallen Leaves Texture Stamp van Darkroom Door.

I started by painting lime, turquoise, yellow and pink stripes on the background with a flat brush. Next I stamped the Fallen Leaves randomly using the same colors. I added black stamping with a stamp from the Fine Leaves stamp set. 

Met een platte borstel verfde ik eerst roze, gele, turquoise en groene strepen op de achtergrond. De Fallen Leaves afgedrukt met dezelfde verf. Met een stempel uit de Fine Leaves ook nog zwarte blaadjes gestempeld hier en daar.

I stamped the Fallen Leaves twice on white paper. I punched 2 circles out of those prints and 2 circles out of white paper. I cut stems out of white paper and assembled the flowers as shown. To finish the card off I stamped 2 sentiments along the stems.

De Fallen Leaves 2 keer gestempeld op wit papier en uit deze prints cirkels geponst. De cirkels ook nog eens uit wit papier geponst. Met deze cirkels bloemen gemaakt. Langs de stelen tekst gestempeld.

Today I made 2 quick and easy cards for 2 little boys.

Snel 2 kaartjes gemaakt voor 2 jongetjes die binnenkort iets te vieren hebben.

The prints of the birds were in my stash. I only had to cut them out and glue them onto gel prints. To finish the cards off I stamped a wish.

De stempelafdrukken van de vogels had ik nog liggen. Ik hoefde ze alleen uit te knippen en op gel prints te plakken. Nog een wens gestempeld en toen waren de kaartjes al klaar.
