Botanical Notes #2

 

I'm sharing two clean and simple cards today.

For the backgrounds I picked 2 gel prints from my stash. Before pulling the prints I made a pattern into the wet paint using burlap, hence the grid pattern.

I looked for matching images through the 'Collage Sheets - Botanical Notes' set by Darkroom Door. I stamped on top of the photos with Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. I adhered the photos on the backgrounds and drew dotted frames with a black fineliner.

Twee simpele kaartjes vandaag.

Voor de achtergronden koos ik 2 mooie gel prints uit mijn voorraad. Vooraleer de afdrukken te maken drukte ik een stuk jute stof in de nog natte verf, vandaar het rasterpatroon. 

Bijpassende afbeeldingen gezocht in de 'Collage Sheets - Botanical Notes' set van Darkroom Door. Over de foto's heen gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black'. De foto's op de gel prints geplakt en randjes getekend met een zwart pennetje.

Small Stencil - Three Circles Set #2

 

On this card I again used the 'Small Stencil - Three Circles Set' by Darkroom Door.

I picked a colorful gel print from my stash to start with. I stamped dots, text and grid on top of the gel print with various Darkroom Door stamps using StazOn Ink 'Teal Blue' & 'Cactus Green' and white paint.

Voor dit kaartje werkte ik opnieuw met de 'Small Stencil - Three Circles Set' van Darkroom Door.

Ik koos een kleurige gel print uit om mee te beginnen. Tekst, stippen en een raster over de gel print heen gestempeld met verschillende Darkroom Door stempels en StazOn Inkt 'Teal Blue' & 'Cactus Green' en witte verf.

I created three flowers by applying modeling paste through the largest circle of the stencil.

Drie bloemen gemaakt door structuurpasta aan te brengen doorheen de grootste cirkel van de stencil.

I used one of the masks from the set on the flowers that overlap.

Ook een maskertje uit de set gebruikt bij de bloemen die mekaar overlappen.

After drying I colored the flowers with Gelatos. I applied pigment with the Gelatos sticks and spread the colors with my fingers. By making circular movements I tried to imitate roses.

To draw the stems I used a black pen.

Na het drogen de cirkels ingekleurd met Gelatos. Pigment aangebracht met de Gelatos sticks en de kleuren met mijn vingers verspreid. Door cirkelvormige bewegingen te maken geprobeerd om rozen te imiteren.

Stelen getekend met een zwarte pen.

On this photo you can see another brand new stencil by Darkroom Door, the 'Small Stencil - Five Strips'.

On today's card I used this stencil together with the 'Small Stencil - Three Circles' and the 'Small Stencil - Semicircles'.

Op de foto zie je nog een nieuwe stencil van Darkroom Door, de 'Small Stencil - Five Strips'. 

Voor de kaart van vandaag gebruikte ik deze stencil samen met de Small Stencil - Three Circles en de Small Stencil -Semicircles.

I made a pattern on my 15 x 15 cm gel printing plate using pan pastels. I applied a thin layer of white paint on top to pull the print.

Een patroon van strepen, cirkels en halve cirkels gemaakt op mijn 15 x 15 cm gel printing plate met pan pastels. Een dunne laag witte verf aangebracht om de print te maken.

Print and ghost print.

Twee prints kunnen maken.

The flower was stamped on a scrap of white paper. I added some black stamping on top of the gel print and drew a frame around the card with a black fineliner.

De bloem op een restje wit papier gestempeld en uitgeknipt. Verder op de achtergrond nog wat zwart stempelwerk toegevoegd en een randje getekend met een zwarte fineliner.

Darkroom Door also released new Collage Sheets this week. On the 3 cards I'm sharing today I used some of the largest images from the 'Botanical Notes' set. 

Naast stencils bracht Darkroom Door ook 'Collage Sheets' uit deze week. Voor de 3 kaarten van vandaag gebruikte ik enkele van de grootste afbeeldingen uit de 'Botanical Notes' set. 

For the first two cards I've chosen this beautiful flower print. Due to the soft colors it's perfectly possible to stamp a quote on top. 

Ik koos deze mooie bloemenafbeelding om er de twee eerste kaartjes mee te maken. De zachte kleuren laten het toe om er een quote overheen te stempelen. 

I adhered the image to a top fold white card and wrapped some pink thread with a few beads around the card.

Alles op een dubbele witte kaart geplakt en om af te werken een roze touwtje met kralen rond de kaart gewikkeld.

For this Sympathy Card I've chosen another image from the 'Botanical Notes' set.

Voor dit sterkte kaartje een andere afbeelding gekozen uit de 'Botanical Notes' set.

Pocket Fodder Book

 

I'm taking part in the 'FodderChallenge' on Instagram. One of the lessons was about making an accordion book.

Ik doe mee met de 'Fodder Challenge' op Instagram. Voor één van de lessen maakte ik dit accordeon boekje.

On the front and back covers I used gel prints made with alcohol inks.

Op de kaften voor en achter kleefde ik gel prints die ik maakte met alcohol inkt.

I found some very old paper flowers in my stash that I used to decorate the front cover. 

I took out my POSCA pen to add some withe details to the petals.

Hele oude bloemetjes opgevist uit mijn voorraad om de kaft mee te versieren.

Met een POSCA pen witte accenten aangebracht op de blaadjes.

The back cover was decorated with a vintage paper doll by Tim Holtz and a heart from my stash. 

Op de achterkant een afbeelding van Tim Holtz gekleefd samen met een hart uit mijn voorraad.

I did the paper weaving on the picture for a 'FodderChallenge' lesson as well.

Het papieren weefwerkje op de foto maakte ik voor een ander lesje van de 'FodderChallenge'.

The inside pages were folded out of one sheet of scrapbook paper.

De pagina's werden gevouwen uit één vel scrapbook papier.

Each inside page has a pocket to hold...fodder of course :)

For now I've put some scraps of gel prints inside the pockets.

Elke pagina heeft een 'pocket' om restjes in bij te houden natuurlijk :)

Voor nu stopte ik er restjes gel prints in.

I tore 2 strips from a piece of pink fabric to make the closure.

Voor de sluiting 2 repen gescheurd uit een stuk roze stof.
