In dit lesje uit de Watercolor Blooms cursus leerden we een boeket schilderen op een droge ondergrond.

This lesson from the Watercolor Blooms course was about painting a bouquet on a dry surface.

Als Alisa het voordoet lijkt het zo makkelijk, maar dat is het echt niet :)

Judging from what I saw in Alisa's video tutorial I thought it would be easy but it wasn't :)

Iets ging niet helemaal goed, ik heb er een vogel over geplakt...

I used this bird to hide a few mistakes...

Voor dit kaartje de achtergrond eerst in kleurige strepen geverfd. Daar overheen gestempeld met witte verf.

To create the background of this card I first painted colorful stripes. Next I overstamped the dry surface randomly using white paint. 

Het jurkje van het meisje deed ik met de 'paper piecing' techniek. Ik knipte het jurkje uit een stempelafdruk. Die maakte ik met de Darkroom Door Polka Dots achtergrondstempel en  Distress Inkt Ripe Persimmon en Picked Raspberry.

For the girl's dress I used the paper piecing technique. I stamped the dress on a Polka Dots print. Did that print with a Darkroom Door Background stamp using Distress Ink Ripe Persimmon and Picked Raspberry.

Koordjes in haar staartjes gebonden.

I decorated her hair with scraps of cord.

Een éénlaagskaartje gemaakt met de Darkroom Door Book Stack fotostempel.

De boeken gestempeld op een witte kaart. Daarvoor eerst de rest van de stempel afgeplakt en zodoende alleen de stapel boeken gestempeld. 

I created a onelayer card with the Darkroom Door Book Stack Photo Stamp.

I stamped the books on a white card panel with Archival Ink 'Jet Black', masked off the frame before inking up the stamp.

De boeken ingekleurd met Distress Inkt en een waterpenseel. Onderaan een rand gekleurd met Distress Paint 'Wilted Violet'. Met een witte pen wat accenten aangebracht. De boeken en onderkant van de kaart met een mask bedekt en alles overstempeld met de Polka Dots achtergrondstempel en Distress Inkt 'Mermaid Lagoon'. 

I colored the books with Distress Inks using a water brush. I painted the bottom of the card with Distress Paint 'Wilted Violet', added highlights with a white pen. I masked off the books and the bottom of the card before adding the dots. Did the stamping with the Polka Dots Background Stamp and Distress Ink 'Mermaid Lagoon'.

Watercolor Blooms #4

Voor mijn Watercolor Blooms lesjes geoefend in het schilderen van bloemen. Ik was niet zo tevreden met het resultaat. De blaadjes stonden niet op de juiste plaats enz...Dus alles maar uitgeknipt, anders geschikt en er een kaart van gemaakt. De compositie ziet er nu iets beter uit :)

For the Watercolor Blooms online course I had to practice painting flowers. I wasn't happy with the outcome, the composition of the flowers and leaves wasn't ok. So I cut the flowers and leaves out and rearranged the items on a card. Now I'm happy with the result :)

Voor de achtergrond kleurde ik een stukje aquarelpapier met sterk verdunde aquarelverf. Hierop geschreven met een dunne verfpen. Afgewerkt met een stukje tape, restjes papier, een touwtje, een grote kraal en een paar mini nietjes. 

For the background I colored a watercolor paper panel with diluted watercolor paint and wrote text on it with a white paint pen. I decorated the card with tape, patterned paper scraps, cord, a bead and a few mini staples.
