Cards and Tins 9

Vanaf vandaag ga ik op woensdag weer kaartjes maken voor mijn 'Cards and Tins' serie. Het zijn kaartjes die geïnspireerd zijn op een blikken doosje uit mijn collectie.

After a short break I restarted the 'Cards and Tins' item on my blog today. Each Wednesday I'll show a card inspired by a tin out of my collection.

Bij het zien van dit knopendoosje dacht ik onmiddellijk aan een volledig witte kaart met een rij gekleurde knopen erop.

The moment I saw this tin I had a white card in mind, decorated with a row of colored buttons.

 Gewoon 5 knopen op een stuk wit papier kleven had ook gekund maar ik wilde graag een witte laagjeskaart maken.  Dus eerst wit papier, zakjes, lint....van tussen mijn spullen gevist.

I could have made a CAS card -5 buttons on a blank card f.i.- but I prefered to make a layered card. So I started collecting white papers, pockets, ribbon....

Na wat puzzelen en schuiven werd dit het resultaat.

After shuffling a while with all the components, this became the end result.

Voor de bloemen ponste ik cirkels uit glassine zakjes. Je kan dat materiaal mooi kreuken zodat de bloemen wat volume krijgen. Telkens drie cirkels aan elkaar bevestigd met een nietje en er een knoop op gekleefd. Onder de bloemen zie je een nog een glassine zakje, ribbelkarton en gaas.

For the flowers I punhed circles out of glassine pockets. I rumpled the circles and fastened them with a staple. Glued a button on top.

I put a layer of glassine, corrugated cardboard and gauze underneath the flowers.

De kantstempel afgedrukt met Versamark en geëmbossed. Verder nog een taartpapiertje en een kledinglabel gebruikt.

I heat embossed the lace print, added a paper doily and a clothing label too.

Dit embossingpoeder zorgt echt voor een WOW effect!

This embossing powder causes a WOW effect, yes indeed!

Moodboard

Vanaf deze maand herneem ik weer het 'Cards and Tins' item op mijn blog. Ik koos gisteren een blikje uit en maakte alvast een moodboard voor de kaart van volgende woensdag.

Twee tape kaartjes vandaag en een lesje 'tape fronsen'.

De hartjes van deze kaart zijn met een pons gemaakt. 

Two cards made with washi tape today and a tutorial on how to ruffle tape.

The hearts on the card were made with a punch.

Ik toonde al eens eerder hoe ik deze hartjes maak klik. Ik deed het nu op dezelfde manier.

I showed you before how I made these hearts click. Did it the same way now.

Gefronste tape gemaakt met 2 laagjes masking tape.

Made a ruffle with 2 layers of masking tape.

Washi tape vind ik ideaal voor het maken van 'snel klaar kaarten'.

De bloemetjes zijn gemaakt van kleine houten platte kralen.

 I glued small wooden beads on the card to make flowers.

Hieronder toon ik aan de hand van een paar foto's hoe ik de tape fronste.

Below I show you step by step how I made the ruffles.

Nodig: een elastiekje, tape, een schaar en een paar helpende handen.

Supplies: a rubber band, tape, scissors and a pair of helping hands.

1. Snij het elastiekje doormidden.

1. Cut the rubber band in half.

2. Leg een stuk tape met de plakkant naar boven en kleef daar het elastiekje op. Let op: trek zoveel mogelijk aan het elastiekje terwijl je plakt.

2. Put a piece of tape on the table (sticky side up) and attach the rubber band to the tape. Try to strech the rubber band as much as possible while attaching.

3. Kleef daaroverheen nog een laag tape.

3. Stick another layer of tape on top.

4. Goed aandrukken dat het elastiekje goed vast komt te zitten.

4. Press firmly to make the rubber band stay in place.

5. En nu loslaten....Voilà, daar verschijnt de ruche.

5. Hands off now......There it is, the 'ruffle'.

Zelf maakte ik ook een aantal voorbeelden voor de foto uitdaging. Eerst en vooral heb ik gestempeld op de achterflap en rug van een oud boek.

I made a few examples for this photo challenge. First I stamped on the back cover and spine of an old book.

Op rommelmarkten kijk ik uit naar oude boeken met een linnen kaft. Als je daar een laagje gesso op zet blijf je de linnen structuur zien, heel mooi!

On local flea markets I look for old books with linen covers. Such books are great for altering!

De kaft en rug heb ik eerst ingesmeerd met gesso en er daarna op gestempeld en er ook wat vegen Distress Inkt op gezet. Een fimo roosje opgeplakt ter versiering. De foto heb ik eerst bewerkt in PSE, daarna afgeprint en opgeplakt.

Het polaroid masker is een freebie van Dymphie klik.

De spreuk onder de foto is ook een Art Journey stempel.

First I put a layer of gesso and some Distress Ink on top of the book cover and spine. I did the stamping with gesso and Distress Ink. Adhered a rose made of polymer clay. Edited the photo in PSE first, printed it and glued it on the book cover. The polaroid template is a freebie by Dymphie click.

 The quote underneath the photo is an Art Journey stamp too.

Een stukje wit linnen dient als ophanglus.

Used a scrap of white linen as a loop, so I can hang this altered piece on the wall.

Als tweede voorbeeld maakte ik een canvas met een foto transfer van één van mijn gerbera foto's. Ik gebruikte gel medium om te transfereren.

My second example for the challenge is a canvas. I transfered one of my gerbera photos. Used gel medium for the transfer. 

De foto heb ik op een canvas gekleefd. Deze is eerst geverfd met acrylverf en daarna bestempeld met StazOn inkt. De stempel sets van Art Journey bevatten heel veel mooie kleine stempeltjes.

I glued the photo transfer onto a canvas. Colored the canvas with acrylic paint first. Did the stamping with several colors of StazOn Ink. Art Journey has a lot of beautiful small stamps in it's collection.

Het rode van de bloemen moest nog eens herhaald worden vond ik :)

Thought it woul be nice to repeat the red color of the flowers on the canvas.

Tenslotte maakte ik ook nog een kaart met een foto. 

Art Journey stempels, washi tape en plakletters van  Kaisercraft zijn de ingrediënten. Het papier is van Basic Grey.
