It looks like I can't get enough of this tree stamp by PaperArtsy :)

Het lijkt erop dat ik niet genoeg kan krijgen van deze PaperArtsy boom :)

Today's cards are similar to those in this blogpost.

De kaarten van vandaag zijn gebaseerd op de kaarten uit deze blogpost.

Only I worked on craft paper this time and I glued the panels on white slimeline cards.

Alleen werkte ik nu op kraft papier en matte de kraft paneeltjes op witte langwerpige kaarten. Bij de kaarten van de vorige post deed ik het net omgekeerd.

I already used buttons, birds, flowers...to decorate the trees on the previous cards but obviously I had to use pompons as well :)

Bij de vorige kaarten gebruikte ik al knopen, vogels, bloemen...om de bomen te versieren. Natuurlijk mochten pomponnen niet ontbreken :)

De kaarten van vandaag zijn opnieuw geïnspireerd op de 'Oh Christmas Tree' Facebook Live van Jo Firth-Young.

I made the cards 'my own' by adding details such as the strip of paper, the cord and the metal token.

Door de touwtjes, het stukje papier en het metalen rondje werden het 'mijn' kaarten.

For the Christmas wish I mixed text stamps from different JoFY stamp sets.

Voor de wens hier stempels uit 2 verschillende JoFY sets gecombineerd.

Another card I made using scraps and bits & bobs from last year's Christmas cards.

Opnieuw met allerlei restjes van de kerstkaarten van vorig jaar aan de slag gegaan.

I found the yarn tree, the strips of paper and the deer in my scrap box 'Christmas'.

De wollen boom zat kant en klaar in de restjesdoos 'Kerst', net als de strookjes papier en het hert.

I trimmed the strip of red handmade paper to the perfect size. With the leftover strip I made a scarf for the deer.

Het rode strookje handgeschept papier vond ik wat te breed. Met het stukje wat ik er vanaf sneed knoopte ik een sjaal voor het hert.

I only had to glue this stamped print in place.

Ook dit stempelafdrukje had ik alleen maar op te plakken.

A while ago I took part in the 'Oh Christmas Tree' Facebook Live by Jo Firth-Young.

Today's cards are again inspired by that workshop.

Nog 3 kaartjes die ik maakte naar aanleiding van de 'Oh Christmas Tree' Facebook Live van Jo Firth-Young die ik onlangs volgde.

I applied the same paper piecing technique as on these cards.

Dezelfde paper piecing techniek toegepast als bij deze kaarten.

I've cut off the lower section of the tree so the tree fits on a standard card size.

Deze keer het onderste deel van de boom afgeknipt, zo past de boom op een gewone kaart. 

Searching for various decorations for the trees is quite a challenge :)

Telkens iets anders verzinnen om de bomen mee te versieren is een uitdaging :)

I heat embossed the wish with WOW embossing powder 'Opaque Bright White'. 

De wens bewerkt met WOW embossing poeder 'Opaque Bright White'.

I made this card using scraps and bits and bobs from last year's Christmas cards.

After lots of trials and errors I ended up with this card.

Deze keer met allerlei restjes van de kerstkaarten van vorig jaar aan de slag gegaan.

Na veel proberen kwam ik tot dit resultaat.

I found the yarn tree and the paper trees in my scrap box 'Christmas'.

I added a few strips of paper and a piece of ribbon.

De wollen boom zat kant en klaar in de restjesdoos 'Kerst', net als de papieren boompjes.

Ik combineerde de bomen met een paar strookjes papier en een stukje roze lint.

Thanks to Jo Firth-Young I rediscovered the paper piecing technique. JoFY stamps are great stamps to apply this technique on.

Dankzij Jo Firth-Young herontdekte ik de paper piecing techniek. Deze techniek is dan ook heel goed toepasbaar op de stempels die Jo ontwerpt.

I made 3 cards using this cute squirrel. Today I'm kicking the series off with a birthday card.

Ik maakte 3 kaarten met deze leuke eekhoorn. De eerste kaart van de reeks is een verjaardagskaart.

With a circle die I made an apperture in a top fold white card. I sponged a panel with Distress Ink 'Salvaged Patina' and glued the panel behind the apperture. 

I bought the dies I used for the leaves and the squirrel at Crafts & Things. 

Met een stans maakte ik een cirkelvormige opening in de voorkant van een dubbele witte kaart. Ik kleurde een paneeltje met Distress Inkt 'Salvaged Patina' en kleefde dit achter de opening. 

 De stansjes waarmee ik de blaadjes en de eekhoorn sneed kocht ik bij Crafts & Things. 

I cut the leaves out of painted paper and the squirrel out of kraft paper. I colored the acorn with Distress Markers and sponged the edges of the squirrel with Distress Ink 'Gathered Twigs'.

Voor de blaadjes gebruikte ik restjes geverfd papier en voor de eekhoorn kraft papier. Ik kleurde de eikel met Distress Markers en sponsde de randjes van de eekhoorn met Distress Inkt 'Gathered Twigs'.

Last Saturday I joined the 'Oh Christmas Tree' Facebook Live by Jo Firth-Young.

Today's cards are inspired by that workshop.

Deze 3 kaartjes maakte ik naar aanleiding van de 'Oh Christmas Tree' Facebook Live van Jo Firth-Young die ik vorige zaterdag volgde.

I again dug up my patterned paper.

Opnieuw mijn voorraad gedessineerd papier aangesproken.

And of course I added my 'own' details such as the velvet trims...

Natuurlijk ook mijn eigen details toegevoegd zoals dit fluwelen lint...

...and the buttons.

...en de knoopjes.

For each tree I found matching buttons in my stash.

Voor elke boom vond ik passende knopen.

 I have a big stash :)

Ik heb dan ook een grote voorraad :)

On today's Christmas cards I used patterned paper.

Rumbling through my stash to find suitable papers is fun to do :)

Twee kerstkaartjes gemaakt met gedessineerd papier in de hoofdrol.

Mooie papiertjes uitzoeken is een heel tof werkje :)

To cut the trees I used an ECD die.

I sponged the edges of the card and the trees with Distress Ink.

De bomen uitgesneden met behulp van een ECD stans.

De randen van de kaart en van elke boom gesponsd met Distress Inkt.

Coptic Binding

 

Practiced another coptic binding lately.

I decorated the covers with handmade paper that I painted white. On the front cover I randomly sponged pink, green and orange paint through the Small Stencil - Checkered by Darkroom Door.

Onlangs nog een keer een koptische binding geoefend.

Om de kaften te bekleden gebruikte ik handgeschept papier dat ik eerst wit verfde. Op de voorkant hier en daar groene, oranje en roze verf aangebracht doorheen de Small Stencil - Checkered van Darkroom Door.

 I stamped the sunflowers on watercolor paper using Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. I colored the flowers with Distress Ink and a water brush. For the stems and leaves I used scraps of painted paper.

De zonnebloemen gestempeld op aquarelpapier met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black'. De bloemen ingekleurd met Distress Inkt en een waterpenseel. Voor de stelen en de blaadjes gebruikte ik restjes geverfd papier.

I folded 18 sections out of  mixed media paper.

Van mixed media papier vouwde ik 18 katernen.

For the coptic binding I used waxed thread.

Voor de koptische binding gebruikte ik gewaxte draad.
