Daisy Delight #1

To make this tag book I used the new Daisy Delight Background Stamp by Darkroom Door.

I started by making a bunch of gel prints using the Daisy Delight Background Stamp and acrylic paint. To make the 9 signatures I needed 18 gel prints (size 18 x 18 cm).

This tag book is inspired by an online workshop by Willa Wanders:

I assembled the prints 2 by 2 and made black stitches on the edges using my sewing machine.

The book was sewn on straps. This is how the spine looks like.

Het boekje genaaid op linten. Dit is hoe de rug er uitziet.

For the sewing I used waxed linen thread and made zigzag stitches.

I made tabs out of fabric, gauze and painted ribbon.

I made a black print with the background stamp on a gel print and cut 2 flowers out of that stamped image. I adhered those flowers to the front cover.

To create a loose style I left some of the black threads uncut.

To a few of the tags I added tag toppers.

Abstract 11 #2

I made this set of CAS cards using the new Abstract 11 stamp by Darkroom Door.

I stamped the spirals straight onto white cards  using Wendy Vecchi Make Art Blendable Dye Inks.

On top of the colored prints I stamped various wishes from the String Sentiments stamp set by Darkroom Door.
I finished the cards off by adding matching buttons.

Abstract 11 #1

Darkroom Door released a bunch of new stamps recently.
Today I'm sharing the first card I made with the new Abstract 11 stamp.

I started by making a black print with the Checkered Background Stamp on a mixed media panel. I randomly applied white and pink paint on top of that print. To stamp the dots, text, grid and marks I used a variety of Darkroom Door stamps. I stamped the Abstract 11 stamp at the left using Archival Ink Jet Black. To finish the card off I added the text.

Quickstart Watercolor #2

As you already know I'm joining the 'Quickstart Watercolor' online course by Rae Missigman and Sandi Keene. I learned to paint lots of loose flowers, branches and leaves using watercolor paint.

After cutting out I'm gathering all the bits and pieces in this cute bowl to use in future work.
Rae and Sandi taught us how to make cute flower stands with the painted flowers and leaves.

They can be used to send as a random act of kindness to a dear friend, to decorate a gift box with, to use as a book mark or to put in your workspace and just look at it from time to time :)

To make the stands I used wooden sticks that have the size of a tongue depressor.

Gemaakt op zo'n grote houten stokjes, type tongspatel.

Making a composition that is pleasing for the eye is not that simple, as usual :)

I randomly added white marks to the flowers. I painted the wooden sticks with paint and added black stamping on top.

I outlined some of the leaves with a black pen.

I'm intending to gather all my excersises from the 'Quikstart Watercolor' course in a tag book.

This is what I have so far.
To be continued...

Het begint al redelijk vorm te krijgen.
Wordt vervolgd...

Especially for You

I'm currently doing the online course 'Quickstart Watercolor' by Rae Missigman and Sandi Keene. I applied my new skills on today's cards :)

I started by painting colorful backgrounds.

Eerst de kleurige achtergronden gemaakt.

Next I stamped the branches and the birds onto the backgrounds.

The black lines were done with a stamp too.

I used paint markers to add colorful marks. The text was stamped on a paper scrap and attached to the background after punching out.

Voor de gekleurde stippen gebruikte ik verfmarkers. De tekst apart gestempeld en opgeplakt.

I stamped the birds again on watercolor paper and attached them to the card using 3D tape.
