Inspired by Kate Crane

 

A while ago I joined a Facebook Live course by Kate Crane about art journaling. 

Een tijd geleden deelgenomen aan een Facebook Live lesje van Kate Crane. Eindelijk tijd gevonden om de art journal lesjes af te werken.

I worked in my square Dina Wakley Art Journal and made 2 pages/spreads.

Ik werkte in mijn vierkante Dina Wakley Art Journal en maakte 2 pagina's/spreads. 

I used a circle punch to make a hole in the first page. This way I created a window...

Met een cirkelpons maakte ik een soort venster in de eerste pagina. Zo creëerde ik een doorkijkje...

...that shows the image on the second spread. The girl is from a paper pad by Jane Davenport.

...naar de afbeelding op de volgende spread. Het meisje tekend ik niet zelf. Ze komt uit een papierblokje van Jane Davenport. 

On the first page I used mainly shades of red, pink and yellow paint. On top of the painted background I applied lots of layers. I stamped, stenciled, made marks and added art journaling. 

Op de eerste pagina werkte ik voornamelijk met tinten rode, roze en gele tinten verf. Bovenop de verflagen veel laagjes aangebracht door middel van stempels, stencils, mark making, art journaling....

The texts I used are from a Dina Wakley Collage Tissue Paper set.

De teksten komen uit een set bedrukt tissue papier van Dina Wakley. 

On the second spread I used 'my' colors :)

Op de tweede spread 'mijn' kleuren gebruikt :)

I stamped on the background using various stamps and blue, green and fuchsia ink.

Op de achtergrond gestempeld met verschillende stempels en blauwe, groene en fuchsia inkt.

I created the circles using a home made stencil. I outlined each circle with a white pen and added dots with a paint marker. 

De cirkels gesponsd met een zelfgemaakte stencil. Rond de cirkels gekrabbeld met een witte pen en stippen aangebracht met een verfmarker.

Journal Soup 3 #4

This is another page I made for "Journal Soup #3", an online course by Kate Crane.

I again worked in my 15 x 15 cm Dina Wakley Journal.

Hier opnieuw een pagina die ik maakte voor de online cursus "Journal Soup #3" van Kate Crane.

Ik werkte opnieuw in mijn vierkante Dina Wakley Journal.

I started by painting the background with lime, turquoise, yellow, white, black and pink paint. I added various dots using stencils, lids from spray bottles and my fingers.

Eerst de ondergrond gekleurd met groene, turquoise, gele, witte, zwarte en roze verf. Daarna stippen gemaakt met stencils, dopjes van spray inkt en mijn vingers.

I've cut shapes out of handmade paper and adhered the shapes to the page by making machine stitches.

Vormen geknipt uit handgeschept papier en met stiksels vastgemaakt.

I added stamping using a script stamp and made lots of marks with a white pen.

Gestempeld met een script stempel en ook veel witte details aangebracht met een pen.

I did some journaling around the edges of the pink shapes.

Rond de roze vormen tekst geschreven.

Journal Soup 3 #3

This is another page I made for "Journal Soup #3", an online course by Kate Crane.

Hier opnieuw een pagina die ik maakte voor de online cursus "Journal Soup #3" van Kate Crane.

As on the previous page I started by painting a colorful background.

Net zoals bij de vorige pagina begonnen met het verven van een kleurige achtergrond.

Next I did some random stamping using tiny stamps. I created big and small dots using stencils.

Daarna gestempeld met allerlei kleine stempels. Grote en kleine stippen aangebracht met stencils. 

I painted a fish on the page and did some journaling around the edges of the fish.

Een vis geschilderd en rond de vis iets opgeschreven.

I finished the page off by adding lots of white details.

Tenslotte opnieuw veel accenten aangebracht met een witte pen.

Voor de online cursus "Journal Soup #3" van Kate Crane maakte ik deze pagina.

I used paint, stamps, a stencil and my fingers :)

Ik werkte met verf, stempels een stencil en mijn vingers :)

A touch of glitter was added to the flags using Stickles.

Zelfs een beetje glitter aangebracht op de vlaggetjes met Stickles.

I further decorated the page with washi tape and handmade paper.

Strookjes washi tape opgeplakt. De cirkel en de vlaggen sneed ik uit handgeschept papier.

Finally I added lots of marks and doodles. So fun to do!

Tenslotte nog een heleboel details aangebracht. Superleuk om te doen!

I worked in this new Art Journal.

Ik werkte in mijn nieuwe vierkante Art Journal.

I started by applying lots of layers using paint, stencils and small stamps.

Veel laagjes aangebracht met verf, stencils en kleine stempels.

I added details with a white pen, a white pencil, a black Stabilo pencil and Distress Crayons.

Details aangebracht met een witte pen, een wit potlood, een zwart Stabilo potlood en Distress Crayons.

The bird came with an older FLOW Magazine.

Het vogeltje zat ooit bij een FLOW.
