Joyful Christmas #2

 

On this Christmas card I used the Santa stamp from the new Joyful Christmas stamp set by Darkroom Door.

Voor deze kerstkaart gebruikte ik de stempel van de kerstman uit de nieuwe Joyful Christmas stempelset van Darkroom Door.

To create the background I started by coloring tissue paper with Dylusions Ink Sprays . As you can see I used a lot of colors.

Voor het maken van de achtergrond ben ik begonnen met het kleuren van tissue papier met Dylusions Ink Sprays. Ik gebruikte een heleboel kleuren.

I cut various sizes of squares and rectangles out of the tissue paper and made a collage on a card panel. I stamped the Santa on white paper and attached it to the card after cutting out.

Allerlei vierkanten en rechthoeken uit het tissue papier geknipt en op een kaart geplakt. De kerstman afgedrukt op wit papier, uitgeknipt en opgeplakt.

The text is from the same Joyful Christmas stamp set.

De tekst komt ook uit de Joyful Christmas stempelset.

I decorated the card using a metal embellishment.

Afgewerkt met een metalen embellishment.

Frame

For this spread in my large Dylusions Journal I was inspired by the Online Class 1 by Dyan Reavely on Facebook. I used Dyan's paint, ink sprays and stencils but translated the lesson into my own style.

Voor deze pagina's in mijn groot Dylusions Journal was ik geïnspireerd door de Online Class 1 van Dyan Reavely op Facebook. Ik gebruikte haar verf, inkt en stencils maar maakte er verder mijn eigen versie van.

I created the background using paint and stencils.

De achtergrond gemaakt met verf en stencils.

We had to make a frame using stamped images.

Het was de bedoeling om een soort van frame te maken met uitgeknipt stempelwerk.

So I had to cut out lots and lots of flowers and leaves :)

Dus heel veel bloemen en blaadjes gestempeld en uitgeknipt :)

I colored all the images with Dylusions paint and Dylusions Ink Sprays.

Alles ingekleurd met Dylusions verf en Dylusions Ink Sprays.

I had to try a few compositions before I was happy with the result.

Eindeloos geschoven met alle onderdelen tot ik tevreden was met het resultaat.

The background of this card was done with a stencil and Dylusions Ink Spray.

De achtergrond van dit kaartje deed ik met een stencil en Dylusions Ink Spray.

The flower and the big leaves were stamped on tissue paper and colored with paint.

De bloem en grote blaadjes stempelde ik op tissue papier. Ingekleurd met verf en daarna op de achtergrond geplakt. 

The black circles were stamped on tissue paper as well.

De rondjes werden ook eerst op tissue papier gestempeld.

Inky Script #3

This is one of the cards I made for Darkroom Door a while ago with their new Inky Script Background Stamp.

Dit is nog een kaartje dat ik een tijdje geleden maakte voor Darkroom Door met hun nieuwe Inky Script achtergrondstempel.

I colored the background using Dylusions Ink Sprays Fresh Lime, Vibrant Turquoise, London Blue and Cut Grass.

De achtergrond kleurde ik met Dylusions Inkt Sprays Fresh Lime, Vibrant Turquoise, London Blue en Cut Grass.

This flower stamp is an oldie but still one of my favorites. I colored the flower with Distress Inks in matching colors and used 3D tape to attach it to the card.

Deze stempel blijft een favoriet. Subtiel ingekleurd met Distress Inkt in de kleuren van de achtergrond en verhoogd opgeplakt.

I've cut a square panel out of a background I did on the gelli plate using stencils and Dylusions Ink Sprays. For the reindeer I used my new craft die by SSS. You'll definitely see more of this reindeer on future cards I'm afraid :)

Een vierkant kaartje gesneden uit een achtergrond die ik maakte met de gelli plate in combinatie met stencils en Dylusions Ink Sprays. Voor het rendiertje gebruikte ik mijn nieuwe SSS stans. Er zullen nog een aantal kaartjes volgen met dit rendier vrees ik :)

Inky Script #1

For Darkroom Door I made a series of cards using the new Inky Script Background Stamp. I'm sure this stamp will become a favorite of mine!

Voor Darkroom Door maakte ik een reeks kaartjes met de nieuwe Inky Script achtergrondstempel. Deze wordt heel zeker één van mijn favoriete stempels!

I worked on a watercolor card panel. I started by stamping green flowers randomly using Distress Ink Twisted Citron. Next I stamped the Inky Script Background Stamp on top. I colored the background with Dylusions Ink Spray. I put the small 'Circles' stencil on the panel, sprayed water on top and let the water react with the ink. I blotted off the water with a paper towel before removing the stencil. 

Gewerkt op aquarelpapier. Eerst vage groene bloemen gestempeld op de achtergrond met Distress Inkt Twisted Citron. Daar de tekst overheen gestempeld. Vervolgens de achtergrond gekleurd met Dylusions Ink Spray. Een cirkelstempel over de achtergrond gelegd, daar water over verneveld. Het water laten reageren met de inkt waardoor de afdruk van de stencil vaag te zien is.

I stamped the leaf using various colors of green paint. I cut the leaf out and attached it to the card with 3D tape. I finished the card off by making splashes with white paint.

Het blad stempelde ik met verschillende tinten groene verf. Uitgeknipt en verhoogd opgeplakt.

Tenslotte nog wat spetters gemaakt met witte verf.

From Gel Print to...#4

Theme of the gel printing challenge today is 'spray inks'.

Vandaag is het onderwerp van de gel printing challenge 'spray inkten'. 

For this topic I created a small art journal, identical to THIS ONE.

Ik maakte weer een soort art journal met ongelijke pagina's, net zoals DIT BOEKJE.

I decorated the cover with the new Dina Wakley tissue paper.

Tissue papier van Dina Wakley op de cover geplakt.

I added stamping, stenciling and doodles...

Verder ook nog stempel- en stencilwerk, doodles...toegevoegd.

The inside pages were colored with Dylusions spray inks.

De pagina's binnenin werden gekleurd met Dylusions spray inkt.

Putting a stencil on the gelli plate, spraying inks and pulling prints.

Een stencil op de gelli plate leggen, sprayen en afdrukken maar. 

The result is always surprising. While making the print on the right page I sprayed too much ink so I lost most of the details of the stencil. To bring back the pattern I sponged some white paint through the stencil.

Altijd een verrassend resultaat. Bij de print op de rechterpagina waren nog slechts weinig details van de stencil zichtbaar. Te veel inkt gebruikt waarschijnlijk. Daarom met witte verf gesponst om het patroon terug te brengen.

Each time I pulled a print while the stencil was still on the gelli plate and one without the stencil. On some pages I made a reverse print only using the inked up stencil.

Elke keer een print gemaakt met de stencil nog op de gelli plate en eentje na het wegnemen van de stencil. Ook een paar keer gewoon de beïnkte/nog natte stencil op het papier afgedrukt.

I did the binding using duct tape and washi tape.

I didn't want to hide the colorful background, just added a few balloons and a wish.

Ik wilde de kleurige achtergrond niet verstoppen, dus alleen wat ballonnen en een wens erbij gebruikt.

After making THIS art journal I ended up with lots of leftover prints and ghost prints. On today's card I've used one of these prints. 

Na het maken van DIT boekje bleven er nog veel restjes en ghostprints over. Eén ervan gebruikt voor deze kaart. 

All the flowers I used on this card were in my stash. They ended up there because of coloring issues or printing issues or I simply stamped too much flowers while working on previous projects. Today I decided to use them anyway :) 

Alle bloemen vond ik in de restjesbak. Ooit afgekeurd wegens niet de juiste kleur, niet perfect afgedrukt of er gewoon teveel van gestempeld. Vandaag mochten ze toch op een kaart :)

After making the card I ended up with new leftovers :) I used them to create this tag. I saw the idea of a card and matching gift tag at Mariken's blog.

Bij Mariken zag ik al een paar een kaart met bijpassend kadolabeltje voorbij komen. Vandaar mijn idee om met de restjes van de restjes een labeltje te maken :)
