I made a Wrapped Journal using the new 'Daisy Chain Border Stamp' by Darkroom Door.

Een 'Wrapped Journal' gemaakt waarbij ik de nieuwe 'Daisy Chain Border Stamps' van Darkroom Door gebruikte.

I die cut the journal cover out of 300 grs watercolor paper using the Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal die. I started by stamping the Daisy Chain twice on the cover using Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. 

De kaft gesneden uit aquarelpapier van 300 gr met behulp van de Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal stans. De Daisy Chain 2 keer afgedrukt op de kaft met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black'.

I colored the flowers by making a print on top of each flower using a small gel printing plate and Scribble Sticks. I dipped the Scribble Sticks in water, drew a circle on the plate using 2 different colors and made a print.

De bloemen gekleurd door met een kleine gel printing plate en Scribble Sticks een cirkel te printen op elke bloem. De punt van de Scribble Sticks nat gemaakt, een cirkel getekend op de gel printing plate met 2 verschillende kleuren en een afdruk gemaakt.

In between the flowers I applied light green squares by sponging through the 'Small Stencil - Checkered' with Distress Ink 'Cracked Pistachio'.

Tussen de bloemen lichtgroene vierkantjes aangebracht. Daarvoor met Distress Inkt 'Cracked Pistachio' gesponsd doorheen de 'Small Stencil - Checkered'.

 I adhered strips of washi tape randomly. I used a black and a white pen to add doodles and marks.

Hier en daar stukjes washi tape opgeplakt. Met een zwarte en witte pen lijnen getekend en doodles aangebracht.

As a closure I used green elastic cord. I decorated the closure with 2 pompons.

Voor de sluiting gebruikte ik groene elastiek die ik versierde met 2 pomponnen.

For the inserts I've cut 20 pages out of mixed media paper, size 19,5 x 11 cm. I folded each page in half and nested 5 pages into each other to make 4 signatures.

Voor de katernen 20 pagina's van 19,5 x 11cm gesneden uit mixed media papier. De pagina's in 2 gevouwen en per 5 in mekaar geschoven om zo 4 katernen te maken.

I've woven green elastic cord through the holes. I ended up with 4 strips of elastic cord at the inside of the book, these hold the inserts in place.

Groene elastiek door de gaten geweven zodat er aan de binnenkant 4 repen elastiek komen te liggen die de katernen op hun plaats houden. 

I glued handmade paper to the inside of the cover.

Op de binnenkant van de kaft plakte ik handgeschept papier.

This is how the binding looks like along the spine.

Zo ziet de binding er uit op de rug van het boekje.

I made a Wrapped Journal using the new Abstract 09 stamp by Darkroom Door.

Een 'Wrapped Journal' gemaakt waarbij ik de nieuwe Abstract 09 stempel van Darkroom Door gebruikte.

I die cut the journal cover out of 300 grs watercolor paper using the Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal die. 

De kaft gesneden uit aquarelpapier van 300 gr met behulp van de Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal stans.

I stamped a pattern on the cover of the journal with acrylic paint.

I added doodling using a black fineliner.

Met acrylverf een patroon gestempeld op de kaft. 

Lijntjes getekend met een zwart stiftje.

Roze elastiek door de gaten geweven zodat er aan de binnenkant 4 repen elastiek komen te liggen die de katernen op hun plaats houden. 

This is how the binding looks like along the spine.

Zo ziet de binding eruit op de rug van het boekje.

I adhered handmade paper to the inside of the cover.

Aan de binnenkant van de kaft plakte ik handgeschept papier.

The signatures can be removed to work on.

De katernen zijn uitneembaar.

Gel Printing with Scribble Sticks

For the March edition of Craft Stamper I made a Wrapped Journal and a tag. I did the colorful flowers using Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks.

I again made a Wrapped Journal. I've die cut the cover out of 300grs watercolor paper using the Sizzix 'Wrapped Journal' die by Eileen Hull. A quick and easy way to cut a cover without measuring. 

Opnieuw een Wrapped Journal gemaakt. De kaft gesneden uit 300grs aquarelpapier met behulp van de Sizzix 'Wrapped Journal' stans van Eileen Hull. Een snelle manier om een kaft te snijden zonder meten. 

I decorated the cover with a gel print. I applied paint on my large gel printing plate and made marks into the paint before printing. I made the marks with a lace stamp and a few background stamps.

Op de kaft kwam een gel print. Eerst verf uitgerold op mijn grote gel printing plate. Daar de kantstempel en ook nog een aantal achtergrondstempels in afgedrukt en een print gemaakt.

I did a ghost print on the reverse side of the cover. 

Een ghost print gemaakt op de binnenkant van de kaft.

I decorated the front cover with pompon ribbon. I machine stitched the ribbon to the cover. I added 2 tissue paper flowers as well. 

Aan de voorkant van het boekje stikte ik pompon lint. Verder ook nog 2 bloemen van tissue papier opgeplakt.

To create the flowers I colored white tissue paper with Dylusions Ink Spray. 

Voor de bloemen wit tissue papier gekleurd met Dylusions Ink Spray. 

Love how the gel print turned out.

Gel printen is altijd verrassend, wel blij met het resultaat.

I've woven orange and fuchsia elastic cord through the holes to attach the signatures.

Ik schoof dunne oranje en fuchsia elastiek door de gaten om de katernen aan te bevestigen.

For the inserts I've cut 20 pages out of mixed media paper, size 19,5 x 11 cm. I folded each page in half and nested 5 pages into each other to make 4 signatures.

Voor de katernen 20 pagina's gesneden uit mixed media papier. De pagina's in 2 gevouwen en per 5 in mekaar geschoven om zo 4 katernen te maken.

I repeated the lace theme on the inside by folding a paper doily around each signature.

Het kant thema van op de kaft nog eens herhaald binnenin het boekje. Ik vouwde een taartkantje rond elke katern.

Wrapped Journal #5

Last week I again made a wrapped journal. As on this journal I used modeling paste on the cover.

Opnieuw een Wrapped Journal gemaakt. Net als bij deze versie structuurpasta aangebracht op de kaft.

I've die cut the cover out of 300grs watercolor paper using the Sizzix 'Wrapped Journal' die by Eileen Hull. A quick and easy way to cut a cover without measuring. 

De kaft gesneden uit 300grs aquarelpapier met behulp van de Sizzix 'Wrapped Journal' stans van Eileen Hull. Een snelle manier om een kaft te snijden zonder meten. 

To create the pattern I applied modeling paste through the Small Stencil - Circles by Darkroom Door.

Om het patroon te maken bracht ik structuurpasta aan doorheen de Small Stencil - Circles van Darkroom Door.

After drying I painted the cover with lime paint. Next I added 2 layers of glaze. 

I mixed Golden Fluid Acrylics Teal with Golden Glazing Liquid and applied a layer of that mixture on top of the paint. After waiting a few minutes I wiped away most of the glaze using baby wipes. I repeated that step with white paint. I stamped randomly using Archival Ink Mermaid Lagoon.

Na het drogen de kaft geverfd met groene verf. Vervolgens 2 glaze lagen over de kaft geborsteld. Daarvoor eerst Golden Fluid Acrylics Teal gemengd met Golden Glazing Liquid. Dit over het verfwerk aangebracht met een platte borstel. Even gewacht en het meeste weer weggeveegd met babydoekjes. Deze stap nog een keer herhaald met witte verf. Tenslotte hier en daar nog wat gestempeld met Archival Inkt Mermaid Lagoon.

I've woven 4 pieces of pink elastic cord through the holes and made knots at the outside.

Ik schoof 4 stukken roze elastiek door de gaten en maakte aan de buitenkant telkens een knoopje bovenaan en onderaan.

 De binnenkant van de kaft verfde ik egaal groen.

I die cut the journal cover out of 300 grs watercolor paper using the Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal die. I put the Large Stencil - Dots on top and applied modeling paste through the stencil with a palette knife. I avoided the parts were the fold marks are. After drying I colored the cover with shades of pink, fuchsia and orange paint. Next I added 2 layers of glaze. I mixed Golden Fluid Acrylics Paynes Gray with Golden Glazing Liquid and I applied a layer of that mixture on top of the paint. After waiting a few minutes I wiped away most of the glaze using baby wipes. I repeated that step with white paint.

I stamped randomly on the cover with the Inky Script Background Stamp using StazOn Ink Cherry Pink.

De kaft gesneden uit 300 grs aquarelpapier met behulp van de Eileen Hull Wrapped Journal stans. Daarna met een paletmes structuurpasta opgesmeerd doorheen de Large Stencil-Dots. Op de delen waar de vouwlijnen zitten bracht ik geen structuurpasta aan. Na het drogen de kaft geverfd met verschillende tinten roze, fuchsia en oranje verf. Vervolgens 2 glaze lagen over de kaft geborsteld. Daarvoor eerst Golden Fluid Acrylics Paynes Gray gemend met Golden Glazing Liquid. Dat over het verfwerk aangebracht met een platte borstel. Even gewacht en het meeste weer weggeveegd met babydoekjes. Deze stap nog eens over gedaan met witte verf. 

Tenslotte ook nog hier en daar gestempeld met de Inky Script achtergrondstempel en StazOn inkt Cherry Pink.

I stamped the tulip twice on watercolor paper. I colored the flowers with Distress Ink Ripe Persimmon and Picked Raspberry. After cutting out I glued the tulips to the front cover.

De tulp 2 keer gestempeld op aquarelpapier. Gekleurd met Distress Inkt Ripe Persimmon en Picked Raspberry. Uitgeknipt en op de voorkant van de kaft geplakt.

The glaze layers make the dots stand out more because the blue and white paint gets into all the nooks and crannies of the modeling paste.

De glaze lagen zorgen ervoor dat de stippen extra goed uitkomen. De blauwe en witte verf nestelt zich in de randjes en kleine scheurtjes van de modeling paste.

I painted the reverse side of the cover with pink paint.

De binnenkant van de kaft verfde ik egaal roze.
