Opnieuw een kaartje gemaakt voor mijn 'Birds' reeks vandaag.

I've made another card for my 'Birds' series today.

Verf op de achtergrond aangebracht met een brayer. Daarop cirkels gestempeld, eerst met witte inkt en daarop nog een aantal afdrukken gemaakt met oranje inkt.

I applied paint to the card with a brayer and stamped circles on top with white ink. I overstamped this background with the same circle stamp using orange ink.

De vogels ingekleurd met Distress Markers.

I colored the birds with Distress Markers.

Een bijpassend postzegeltje opgeplakt.

I added a matching post stamp.

Een nieuw jaar...dat betekent ook weer nieuwe voornemens.

Oudere en/of weinig gebruikte stempels van onder het stof halen bijvoorbeeld.

Vandaag was een collage stempel van Crafty Individuals aan de beurt.

De stempel ingekleurd met Distress Inkten en een waterpenseel.

Verder heb ik het vrij sober gehouden. Ik ben nogal voor 'clean & simple' de laatste tijd :)

I have the intention to use more of my older stamps in 2014. 

So today I made a card with one of my collage stamp by Crafty Individuals.

Colored the stamp print with Distress Inks and my water brush.

Kept it clean and simple. CAS is my motto these days :)

Cards and Tins 15

Weer een kaartje gemaakt voor mijn 'Cards and Tins' reeks.

Made another card for my 'Cards and Tins' series.

Het begint natuurlijk met het uitkiezen van een blik. 

It all starts with choosing a tin out of my collection.

Dit keer koos ik een groot exemplaar. Ik bewaar er een deel van mijn restjes in.

I keep some of my leftovers in this extra large tin.

Daarna passende stempels uitzoeken....

Step 2: looking for appropriate stamps...

...en dan kan ik aan de slag. 

De stippen zijn geëmbossed met Seafoam White embossingpoeder. Daarna het papier gekleurd met Distress Inkt 'Evergreen Bough'.

...and then I'm ready to start. 

I heat embossed the dots with Seafoam White embossing powder. Colored the background with Distress Ink 'Evergreen Bough'.

De cirkel gekleurd met verschillende kleuren Distress Inkt (craft sheet/water techniek). De takjes gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Coffee'.

I colored the circle with Distress Ink (craft sheet/water technique). Stamped the branches with Archival Ink 'Coffee'.

Vogels en besjes gekleurd met Distress Inkt en een waterpenseel. Tenslotte nog een randje parels gekleefd en een paar stoffen bloemetjes gekleurd en opgeplakt.

Colored the birds and the berries with Distress Ink and a water brush. Added beads and fabric flowers to finish it off.

Ik ben van plan om dit oude boek dit jaar helemaal te vullen met stempels......

Alvast begonnen met een eerste pagina. 

Een prima gelegenheid om eens mijn vergeten stempels aan te spreken.

 This is the first post of a new series.  It's my intention to illustrate some vintage book pages this year.

An excellent opportunity to use my forgotten stamps.

Eerst gesso gesmeerd en daarna gestempeld.

De stempelafdruk heb ik ingekleurd met Derwent potloden.

Before stamping I added a layer of gesso to the page.

I did the coloring with my Derwent pencils.

Birds

 Voor dit kaartje de achtergrond gesponst en gestempeld met Distress Inkt.

De vogels zijn gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Coffee' en ingekleurd met kleurpotloden.

I made the background of this card with Distress Ink and a blending tool. Did the stamping in the back with Distress Ink too. The birds are stamped with Archival Ink 'Coffee' and colored with pencils.

Een heel oude postzegel uit mijn voorraad en een reepje washi tape opgeplakt. Rolletjes gemaakt van heel mooi handgeverfd papier. 

I adhered an old stamp out of my stash and a some strips of washi tape on the card. Made some rolls out of hand painted paper.

Heel deze voorraad geverfd/gestempeld papier kreeg ik van Cynnie. Ik was één van de winnaars van de give away op haar blog. Een paar van die papiertjes worden vast boekenkaftjes.

Stamp Carving 101 #3

Geïnspireerd door vogelquilts in "Sew Somerset". Een papieren versie gemaakt met mijn nieuwe zelf gegutste 'contained chevron' stempel.

Inspired by the bird quilts in the latest "Sew Somerset". Made a paper version with my brand new hand carved 'contained chevron' stamp.

Het was de bedoeling een randje steekjes te gutsen op de rand van de stempel maar dat mislukte. Ik heb hier dan maar een randje steekjes gemaakt met Scrappers Floss.

I had the intention to carve stitches at the edges of the stamp but it went wrong at that stage. I made some stitches with Scrappers Floss instead.

Wit handgeschept papier, steekjes, Basic Grey papier en strookjes rood papier...

White handmade paper, stitches, scraps of Basic Grey paper and red paper...

ATC Freebie

Op mijn 'blogronde' kwam ik deze schitterende ATC's tegen. Evelyn van "voor mij-voor jouw" maakte ze en geeft ze zomaar gratis weg! Ze zijn eigenlijk veel te mooi om gewoon als achtergrond te gebruiken. Daarom maakte ik er een kaart en label omheen :)


During my daily 'blog hop' I spotted these gorgeous ATC's. Evelyn from the Dutch  "voor mij-voor jouw" blog made them and offers them for free on her blog. They are way to nice to use only as backgrounds so I made a card and tag and put one of the ATC's as an eye catcher in the middle.



Groen papier van Basic Grey bestempeld met Archival Ink #Coffee.

Accenten aangebracht op de takjes met een witte pen. De bloem maakte ik van een bestaande bloem (Prima Flowers) en een gehaakt bloemetje uit mijn voorraad.



I stamped on green Basic Grey paper with Archival Ink #Coffee.
Put some accents on the branch on top with a white pen. The flower is a combination of a 'Prima Flower' and a crocheted flower out of my stash.



De witte cirkels op de ATC accentueerde ik met steekjes. De meisjes gestempeld op een stukje van een identieke ATC, uitgeponst en in de cirkels gekleefd. 


I made some stitches on the white circles to become a frame. I stamped the girls on a scrap from the same ATC, punched a circle out of the print and glued it in the 'frame'.

Nog eens dezelfde ATC gebruikt voor deze tag. De steekjes hier vervangen door streepjes gemaakt met een witte pen. Roosjes en lint zijn van Tim Holtz (Tim Holtz Trimmings). 


Used the same ATC again for this tag. Instead of stitches I used my white pen to put some details on the white circles. The ribbon and roses are Tim Holtz Trimmings.

A Month-A Book 6Een Maand-Een Boek 6

Na 2 maanden rust hebben Dymphie en ik de draad van ons boekenproject weer opgepakt.  Om er weer in te komen startten we met iets eenvoudigs , alhoewel...De uitdaging bestond erin om een miniboekje te maken. Ik heb lang getwijfeld: maak ik een kaftje van knopen of kroonkurken? Het werd uiteindelijk een boekje met lederen kaft van 6 op 4 cm, niet zo héél erg mini dus :)

Summer break is over, so Dymphie and I made another book for our 'A Month-A Book' project. We started with something "easy": a mini book. I had in mind to use bottle caps or buttons as a cover first, that would have been a real mini! Finally I decided to make a mini leather journal. It measures 2,4 x 1,6", small but not that small after all :)

Een dergelijk boekje met lederen kaft wilde ik al heel lang eens naaien!

Making a leather journal like this was on my 'to do' list for a long time!

De sluiting is gemaakt van een reepje leder dat ik met wat steekjes aan de kaft naaide.

Used a leather strip as a closure. Attached it to the cover with some stitches.

Het boekje bestaat uit 5 katernen van crèmekleurig papier. De pagina's heb ik gescheurd in plaats van gesneden. Past beter bij het leder vind ik.

 I used cream paper for the sections. I torned the pages instead of cutting them. That vintage look fits well with the leather I believe.

Post Card

 Op mijn vakantieadres heb ik onder andere dit postkaartje gestempeld.

 Het is mijn inzending voor de Each Card Is Unique Challenge van de maand augustus. Bianca wil graag zomerse kaarten zien.

Instead of buying a post card I stamped one, during my latest trip. This card is my entry for the Each Card Is Unique Challenge of the month of August. Bianca would like to see summery cards.

De achtergrond is gemaakt met Distress Inkt en water en daarna bewerkt met verschillende achtergrondstempels van Darkroom Door. De fotostempel is ingekleurd met Distress Inkt. Zonder enveloppe verstuurd, dus verder volledig vlak gelaten.

I made the background with Distress Ink and water. Used several Darkroom Door background stamps. THe photostamp is colored with Distress Ink and a water brush. I sent the card without an envelop so I didn't put embelishments on it neither.

Ecoline and Flowers

 Een kaartje in lentekleuren. De bruine achtergrond is afkomstig van een kartonnen doos en is gemat op paars vellum.

I chose spring colors for this card. The corrugated cardboard is packaging material, I stuck it onto purple vellum.

Een knoopje gekleefd op een bloem in vilt en deze  versierd met touw en kraaltjes. Een stukje gescheurd van een restje 'Plaid' achtergrond.

I glued a button on a felt flower, used some cord and beads as well.

I teared a leftover 'Plaid' background apart to use on this card.

De achtergrond is gemaakt met ecoline/zout. De bloemen zijn ingekleurd met Derwent potloden.

The background is made with ecoline/salt. Colored the flowers with Derwent pencils.

 De flesjes ecoline stonden nog op de keukentafel na het maken van mijn eierdoosboek deze week. Nog enkele papiertjes extra gekleurd. In het doosje zie je de kleur van het effectzout na gebruik, vond ik wel een foto waard :)

The bottles with ecoline were still on my kitchen table after making the egg carton book this week. I colored a few sheets of paper extra as well. In the tin you see the color of the salt after using it.
