Every Sunday evening Jo Firth-Young (designer of the JoFY stamps) is doing a free Facebook Live in her JoFY Jamboree!! Facebook group. She's making Christmas cards with one of her older JoFY stamp sets each week. 

I watched another video and ended up with this set of Christmas cards.

Elke zondagavond organiseert Jo Firth-Young (ontwerper van de JoFY stempels) een gratis Facebook Live in haar JoFY Jamboree!! Facebook groep. Ze maakt kerstkaarten, telkens met één van haar oudere JoFY stempelsets. 

Opnieuw één van haar videos bekeken en deze drie kerstkaartjes gemaakt.

Wedding Cards

 

I made a series of cards to wish just married couples all the luck in the world.

Een reeks kaarten gemaakt om jonggehuwden te feliciteren.

For each card I started with a gel print. I randomly overstamped this gel print using small stamps.

Voor elke kaart een gel print gebruikt. Deze gel print overstempeld met allerlei kleinere stempels.

I decorated each card with one or two sunflowers.

Op elke kaart één of meer zonnebloemen geplakt.

On this background I stamped hearts as well.

Hier ook harten gestempeld op de achtergrond.

I stamped the sunflowers on watercolor paper using Versamark ink. I heat embossed the prints with WOW embossing powder 'Opaque Bright White'.

De zonnebloemen gestempeld op aquarelpapier met Versamark inkt. Wow embossing powder 'Opaque Bright White' over de print gestrooid en verhit met mijn heat tool.

Each sunflower was colored with watercolor paint.

Elke zonnebloem ingekleurd met aquarelverf.

A felt heart, the perfect decoration for a wedding card :)

Een vilten hart, de ideale versiering voor een trouwkaart :)

Cutting out all the sunflowers was quite a job :)

Alle zonnebloemen uitknippen was wel even een werkje :)

I own a lot of her stamps and she has a style that speaks to me so...I watched another video and ended up with this set of Christmas cards.

Ik heb veel van haar stempels, haar stijl spreekt me heel erg aan dus ja...opnieuw één van haar videos bekeken en deze set kerstkaartjes gemaakt.

Jo's often using the paper piecing technique. The perfect occasion for me to digg up my old Basic Gray paper pads.

Jo gebruikt vaak de paper piecing techniek. Een ideale gelegenheid voor mij om mijn oude Basic Gray papierblokjes nog eens boven te halen. 

I adhered each kraft panel to a white slimline card (10,5 x 20,5cm).

Elk kraft paneeltje op een langwerpige witte kaart geplakt (10,5 x 20,5 cm).

I love the details Jo adds to her cards: a strip of washi tape, white accents...

Het zijn de details die me zo aanspreken bij de kaarten van Jo: een strookje washi tape, een wit lijntje...

Every weekend (first on Fridays, now on Sundays) for 16 weeks (until Christmas) Jo Firth-Young (designer of the JoFY stamps) is doing a free Facebook Live on her JoFY Jamboree!! Facebook page. She's making Christmas cards with one of her older JoFY stamp sets each week. 

I own a lot of her stamps and she has a style that speaks to me so...after watching one of her videos I ended up with 2 more Christmas cards.

Ik was eigenlijk nog niet van plan om al aan mijn kerstkaarten te beginnen maar Jo Firth-Young (ontwerper van de JoFY stempels) heeft daar verandering in gebracht.

Elk weekend (eerst op vrijdag, nu op zondag) en dat voor 16 weken (tot Kerstmis) doet ze een gratis Facebook Live op haar JoFY Jamboree!! Facebook pagina. Ze maakt kerstkaarten, telkens met één van haar oudere JoFY stempelsets. 

Ik heb veel van haar stempels, haar stijl spreekt me heel erg aan dus ja...na het bekijken van één van haar videos maakte ik opnieuw 2 kaarten.

Wonky Bits #10

 

Last week I made another spread in my tiny Pocket Journal.

Afgelopen week nog eens een spread gemaakt in mijn kleine Pocket Journal.

To create the turquoise and fuchsia dots I applied paint through 2 different stencils.

Voor de fuchsia en turquoise stippen gebruikte ik 2 verschillende stencils en verf.

With paint markers I added lots of marks.

Met verfmarkers stippen, strepen en kruisjes toegevoegd.

The big circles were done with my blending tool using a small amount of pink and orange paint.

De grote cirkels deed ik met mijn blending tool en een heel klein beetje oranje en roze verf.

I decorated the pages with a few of my 'Wonky Bits'. A while ago I took an online course by Willa Wanders. In this course Wendy shows how to draw botanical elements using a fine tip applicator and black paint.

Due to the fact the paint doesn't come out of the tip equally the result is a bit wonky but that's just the intention :)

De pagina's versierd met een paar van mijn 'Wonky Bits'. Een tijd geleden volgde ik een online cursus van Willa Wanders. Daar leerde ik van Wendy bloemen en blaadjes tekenen met een 'fine tip applicator' en zwarte verf.

Tekenen met zo'n applicator waar de verf dan soms ook nog onregelmatig uitkomt zorgt voor een soort van slordig resultaat, maar dat is net de bedoeling :)

To create the green marks I used a paint brush and green paint.

I outlined the marks and dots with a white pen.

Met een penseel en groene verf een rand stippen gemaakt.

De fuchsia rondjes en groene stippen omlijnd met een witte pen.

And of course I added some colored ribbon :)

Kleurige lintjes mochten natuurlijk niet ontbreken :)

Party Balloons #4

 

I made this set of CAS cards for children using the new 'Party Balloons' stamp set by Darkroom Door.

Een set eenvoudige kaarten gemaakt voor kinderen met de nieuwe 'Party Balloons' stempelset van Darkroom Door.

I stamped the balloons with black ink straight onto the card and applied the paper piecing technique on the balloons.

De ballonnen twee keer op elke kaart gestempeld met zwarte inkt. De 'paper piecing' techniek toegepast op de ballonnen.

They were stamped again on patterned paper, cut out and attached on top of the stamped images on the card. 

For a 3D effect I attached one of the balloons with 3 D tape.

Ze werden nog een keer gestempeld op gedessineerd papier, uitgeknipt en over de gestempelde afbeeldingen op de kaart gekleefd. 

Voor een 3D effect de ballon op de voorgrond verhoogd opgeplakt.

I stamped the 'wish' using a stamp from the same Party Balloons set. Love the font!

De wens deed ik ook met een stempel uit de Party Balloons stempelset. Ik vind het een heel mooi lettertype.

Baby Cards #2

 

I have 2 more baby cards to share today. 

They were made for newborn baby boys.

Twee baby kaartjes gemaakt voor pasgeboren jongens.

I made a gel print on the tags first. 

Op de labels maakte ik eerst een gel print. 

I bought the fluffy animals in a haberdashery store. They are made to pimp an outfit or a bag but in my opinion they look nice on a card as well.

De pluizige diertjes kocht ik in een winkel voor naaibenodigdheden. Ze zijn eigenlijk bedoeld om kledij of tassen mee te versieren maar ze staan ook leuk op kaartjes vind ik.

For the tag toppers I used home colored ribbon that matches with the background.

Voor de tag topper 3 zelf gekleurde lintjes gezocht in de kleuren van de gel prints. 

This tag has the same design but I used softer colors.

 

Dit label is op dezelfde manier gemaakt. Ik gebruikte zachtere kleuren.

Do more with your stamps is the theme of today :)

On this Christmas card I used a balloon stamp from the new Party Balloons stamp set by Darkroom Door. If stamped upside down this balloon looks like a Christmas bauble in my opinion. 

Doe meer met je stempels is het thema van vandaag :)

Voor dit kerstkaartje gebruikte ik een ballon uit de nieuwe Party Balloons stempelset van Darkroom Door. Ondersteboven gestempeld kan deze ballon voor een kerstbal doorgaan vind ik. 

For the design of this card I was inspired by the JoFY cards from my previous post.

I started by sponging Distress Oxide Ink 'Picked Raspberry' through the 'Small Stencil - Arty Circles' by Darkroom Door. I stamped balloons on the background using StazOn Ink 'Dove Gray'. For a 3D effect I masked off some of the balloons while stamping. The small stars were stamped with Archival Ink 'Jet Black.

Dit kaartje is geïnspireerd op de JoFY kaartjes uit mijn vorige blogpost.

Begonnen met het aanbrengen van Distress Oxide Inkt 'Picked Raspberry' doorheen de 'Small Stencil - Arty Circles' van Darkroom Door. Ballonnen op de achtergrond gestempeld met StazOn Ink 'Dove Gray'. Voor een 3D effect maskertjes gebruikt op de ballonnen tijdens het stempelen.

De sterren werden gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black'.

The blue bauble was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Ink 'Salvaged Patina' & 'Speckled Egg'. I attached the bauble to the card with 3D tape.

De blauwe kerstbal werd gestempeld op aquarelpapier en ingekleurd met Distress Inkt 'Salvaged Patina' en 'Speckled Egg'. De kerstbal verhoogd opgeplakt met 3D tape. 

I added shadow to the balloons with a Derwent graphic pencil and finished the card off with Stickles and tiny blue stars.

Schaduw aangebracht rond de ballonnen met een Derwent potlood. De kaart afgewerkt met Stickles en kleine blauwe sterren.
