As part of the 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' I joined the class 'Watercolor Florals With Everyday Objects' with Sushma Hegde.

Bij de 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' nam ik deel aan de online les 'Watercolor Florals With Everyday Objects' met Sushma Hegde.

To paint the flowers we could use anything but a brush.

Om de bloemen te schilderen mochten we alles gebruiken behalve een penseel.

I used cotton swabs, a skewer, a leave and other stuff from the garden.

Ik gebruikte oorstokjes, een houten saté prikker, een blad, takjes en andere dingen uit de tuin.

Not at all easy to do but I enjoyed the challenge.

Niet gemakkelijk maar ik vond het wel een toffe uitdaging.

As part of the 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' I joined the class 'Paint the Glow: Loose Watercolor Apple Made Simple' with Ohn Mar Win. 

Bij de 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' nam ik deel aan de online les 'Paint the Glow: Loose Watercolor Apple Made Simple' met Ohn Mar Win. 

It was all about layering colors, values, light and shadow...

Het draaide allemaal rond laagjes kleur aanbrengen, kleurschakeringen, licht en schaduw...

My well used watercolor sets.

Mijn goed gebruikte aquarelverf doosjes.

Not totally happy with the outcome but it was a fun exercise.

Niet helemaal blij met het resultaat maar het was een hele leuke oefening.

Out of the more than 60 lessons over at the Summer Creative Retreat 2026 I picked a bookbinding lesson :)

Uit de meer dan 60 lessen van de 'Summer Creative Retreat 2026' koos ik een boekbindlesje :)

I made 2 junk journals decorated with pompons.

Ik maakte 2 'junk journals' versierd met pompons.

It were the pompons that caught my eye of course :)

Het waren de pompons die mijn aandacht trokken natuurlijk :)

I glued fabric on the front covers...

Op de kaften plakte ik stof...

...and felt inside.

...en aan de binnenkant vilt.

Did the binding with a simple pamphlet stitch.

De binding werd gedaan met een eenvoudige 'pamphlet' steek.

I filled the books with all kinds of junk paper from my stash.

De boekjes gevuld met allerlei papier uit mijn voorraad.

Summer Creative Retreat 2026 #1

At the beginning of August I joined the online 'Summer Creative Retreat' hosted by The Pigeon Letters.

In de eerste week van augustus nam ik deel aan de online 'Summer Creative Retreat' georganiseerd door The Pigeon Letters.

There were over 60 free workshops to pick from.

Er waren meer dan 60 gratis workshops om uit te kiezen.

The gel printing class 'Stencil Stories: Colorful Tissue Collage Papers' by Birgit Koopsen caught my eye.

Birgit taught us a few techniques on how to print on tissue paper with stencils...

Birgit leerde ons een paar technieken om te printen op tissue papier met stencils...
