Thinking of You #2

While working on another project I tested out my Distress Paint bottles on a scrap of kraft paper. Used that paper for this sympathy card :)

Tijdens het maken van een ander project testte ik mijn flesjes Distress Paints uit op een restje kraft papier. Dit restje nu gebruikt voor de achtergrond van deze sterkte kaart :)

Inspiration Wednesday 2016 #15

I still have some catching up to do in my Inspiration Wednesday 2016 journal.

Ik heb nog wat lesjes van Inspiration Wednesday 2016 in te halen.

I started by attaching scraps of letter stickers to the pages.

De pagina's eerst vol geplakt met restjes kleefletters.

Next I covered the awful letter collage with 2 coats of gesso.

Om de lelijke kleuren weg te stoppen eerst 2 lagen gesso aangebracht. 

After coloring the spread with paint I added a mixture of white paint and glazing liquid. I removed most of the glaze layer using baby wipes. 

Daarna alles gekleurd met verf. Ook nog een mengsel van witte verf en glazing liquid aangebracht. Het meeste van die laag weer weggeveegd met babydoekjes.

Love the texture.

De letters zorgen voor een mooie structuur. 

I couldn't resist adding my favorite tape :)

Mijn favoriete tape mocht niet ontbreken :)

The only thing Donna did was sticking a quote to the textured background. I've chosen to add some stamped images as well.

Donna voegde alleen een quote toe maar ik koos ook nog voor een paar gestempelde bloemen en een blad.

As usual I decorated the inclusions the same way.

Zoals gewoonlijk ook de kleine tussenpagina's bewerkt.

Thistle

Twee kaartjes gemaakt met de distel stempel van Paperbagstudios.

Made two cards with the thistle stamp by Paperbagstudios.

Een mooie stempel vraagt niet veel extra's. Dat is mooi meegenomen :)

A beautiful stamp doesn't need that much extras. Nice bonus isn't it :)

De ondergrond maakte ik met alcoholinkt.

Na het stempelen de cirkel bijgekleurd met Distress Inkt. Ook nog wat accenten aangebracht met wit potlood.

Made the background with alcohol ink.

Colored the circle with Distress Ink after stamping. Added a few details with a white pencil too.

Koordjes in bijpassende kleuren.

Cords in matching colors.

Het effect van alcoholinkt op glanzend papier vind ik vaak nogal hard van kleur. Hier gewerkt met mat papier en heel weinig inkt.

I know alcohol ink is designed to use on glossy paper but I wasn't happy with the outcome on glossy paper. Here I worked with matte paper and very little ink.
