To make this set of Christmas cards I used stamps by Different Colors.

Voor deze reeks kerstkaarten werkte ik met stempels van Different Colors.

I started by inking the backgrounds using 3 shades of Distress Inks. Randomly added text using a small text stamp. Did the stamping of the branches with Distress Ink 'Forest Moss'. For the text and pine cones I used Archival Ink.

To finish the cards off I distressed the edges using Distress Ink 'Festive Berries'. 

Ik begon met het beïnkten van de achtergronden. Daarvoor gebruikte ik 3 tinten Distress Inkt. Hier en daar tekst gestempeld met een kleine tekst stempel. Voor het stempelen van de takken gebruikte ik Distress Inkt 'Forest Moss'.  De teksten en dennenappels stempelde ik met Archival Inkt. 

De kaarten afgewerkt door de randen te bewerken met Distress Inkt 'Festive Berries'.

I made a set of cards using the cute bunnies from the Tim Holtz Thinlits 'Bunny Stitch' set.

I started by coloring watercolor paper with Distress Ink. I applied Distress Ink straight from the inkpads onto a craft sheet, sprayed water on top and put the paper into that puddle. After drying I randomly overstamped the colored backgrounds using Distress Oxide Ink.

Ik maakte een set kaartjes met de leuke konijnen uit de Tim Holtz Thinlits 'Bunny Stitch' set.

Om te beginnen aquarelpapier gekleurd met Distress Inkt. Distress Inkt op een craft sheet aangebracht, daar water over verneveld en het papier door de natte plas inkt gesleept. Na het drogen de achtergrond hier en daar bestempeld met Distress Oxide inkt.

At the bottom of each card I adhered tape and zigzag ribbon.

Onderaan elke kaart stroken tape en zigzag lint opgekleefd. 

I die cut the rabbits out of white and gray paper. For the carrots and cross-stitches I used leftover gel prints.

De konijnen uit wit en uit grijs papier geponst. Voor de kruisjes en de wortels gebruikte ik restjes van een gel print.

Last week I made two Sympathy Cards.

Afgelopen week deze labels gemaakt.

I started by inking up two different stencils using shades of pink and orange Distress Ink. After spraying water on top of the ink I made prints on ready made white tags. 

The outcome of this 'stamping with stencils' technique is always surprising. 

I colored the ribbon for the tag toppers with the same ink I used on the backgrounds.

Twee verschillende stencils beïnkt met Distress Inkt in roze en oranje tinten. Water verneveld over de inkt en afdrukken gemaakt op kant en klare witte labels. 

De uitkomst van deze 'stempelen met stencils' techniek is altijd verrassend.

Het lint voor de 'tag toppers' werd gekleurd met dezelfde kleuren inkt als deze die ik gebruikte voor de achtergronden.

The flowers were stamped on watercolor paper and painted with watercolor paint. 

All the stamps I used are by Darkroom Door.

De bloemen gestempeld op aquarelpapier en ingekleurd met aquarelverf. 

Alle stempels die ik gebruikte zijn van Darkroom Door.

I have a lot of stamps, even favorite ones, that I forgot about for quite a while. 

I have the intention to dust off those stamps in 2023. 

Today I've chosen a Geranium stamp and 2 definition stamps by Hero Arts.

Ik heb een heleboel stempels, waaronder ook een aantal favorieten, die ik al een tijdje uit het oog verloren ben. Ik nam me voor om in 2023 deze stempels eens van onder het stof te halen.

Vandaag koos ik voor een geranium stempel en 2 definitie stempels van Hero Arts.

I started by stamping the flower with gesso. Next I colored the tag with Distress Ink. The gesso works as a resist, I love the effect. 

The marks and the text were stamped with Distress Oxide Ink. 

Begonnen met het stempelen van de bloem met gesso. Daarna het label gekleurd met Distress Inkt. De gesso werkt als een resist, een heel tof effect vind ik. 

De 'marks' en de tekst gestempeld met Distress Oxide inkt. 

I bought the ribbon I used for the tag toppers at Flying Tiger.

Het lint dat ik gebruikte voor de tag toppers vond ik bij Flying Tiger.

Darkroom Door recently released a lot of new stamp sets. 

On this set of tags I used the new 'Mini Marks' stamp set.

Recent bracht Darkroom Door weer veel nieuwe stempels uit.  

Voor de 3 labels van vandaag werkte ik met de nieuwe 'Mini Marks' stempel set.

I started by die cutting tags out of watercolor paper and stamped the sunflowers, dots, squares and script onto the tags using white acrylic paint. The tags were colored with Distress Ink. I used the new color 'Lumberjack Plaid', tried out a few color combinations with that vibrant red color.

Eerst de labels gesneden uit aquarelpapier. Daarna met witte acrylverf de zonnebloemen, het script, de dots en de hokjes gestempeld. Daarna de labels gekleurd met Distress Inkt. Ik werkte met de nieuwe kleur 'Lumberjack Plaid'. Ik probeerde een drietal kleurcombinaties uit met deze levendige rode kleur. 

For each tag I applied 3 colors of Distress Ink onto a craft sheet, sprayed water on top and dragged the tags through that puddle. The white paint works as a resist, love the outcome! After drying I made some splatters on the tags using water.

Telkens 3 kleuren inkt op een craft sheet aangebracht, daar water over verneveld en de labels door die inkt 'gesleept'. De witte verf werkt als een resist, het resultaat verraste me. Na het drogen spetters gemaakt met water. 

I used stamps from the 'Mini Marks' set to overstamp the colored background. For the stamping I used the same colors as I used on the background but in the Oxide version. 

Met stempels van de 'Mini Marks' set gestempeld over de gekleurde achtergrond. Ik gebruikte dezelfde kleuren inkt maar in de Oxide versie.

There are 18 stamps in the set so there is a lot of choice! Yet I limited myself to 2 à 3 different stamps per tag. Together with the tone on tone stamping this ensures an outcome that is not too busy.

Er zitten 18 motieven in de set, veel keuze dus! Ik koos er toch voor om maar 2 à 3 verschillende stempels te gebruiken per label. Samen met de toon op toon kleuren zorgt dit ervoor dat het eindresultaat niet al te druk wordt.

I made this set of cards using the new 'Sunflowers' stamp set by Darkroom Door.

On these cards I worked with the largest image of the sunflower.

Deze reeks kaartjes gemaakt met de nieuwe 'Sunflowers' stempelset van Darkroom Door.

Hier gewerkt met de grootste afbeelding van de zonnebloem.

I started by applying Distress Oxide Ink (here Saltwater Taffy) through my favorite 'Small Stencil - Checkered'.

Begonnen met het aanbrengen van Distress Oxide Inkt (hier Saltwater Taffy) doorheen mijn favoriete 'Small Stencil - Checkered'.

The sunflowers were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

De zonnebloemen gestempeld met Versamark inkt en bewerkt met wit embossing poeder.

I colored the flowers with regular Distress Ink, in the same colors as I used on the backgrounds (here Twisted Citron).

De bloemen ingekleurd met gewone Distress Inkt, in dezelfde kleur als deze die ik op de achtergrond gebruikte (hier Twisted Citron).

I've cut strips out of of white paper to stamp the wishes on. 

Stroken gesneden uit wit papier om de wensen op te stempelen.

'Hello Sunshine' is from the 'Sunflowers' stamp set. The other wishes are from the 'Sentiment Stamp - Friendship' and 'Sentiment Stamp - Happy Birthday' set.

'Hello Sunshine' komt uit de 'Sunflowers' set. De andere wensen komen uit de 'Sentiment Stamp - Friendship' en 'Sentiment Stamp - Happy Birthday' sets.

I made a set of cards using the new 'Pine Branches' embossing folder by Tim Holtz.

After dry embossing I colored the panels with Distress Inks. 

Een reeks kaartjes gemaakt met de nieuwe 'Pine Branches' embossing folder van Tim Holtz. Na het embossen de paneeltjes ingekleurd met Distress Inkt. 

I added text to the backgrounds using a stencil and Distress Ink.

Over de achtergrond vage tekst aangebracht met een stencil en Distress Inkt.

I stamped the deer on scraps of white paper with Archival Ink 'Coffee'.

De rendieren gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Coffee' op restjes wit papier. 

I adhered a rub-on on each card and stamped a Christmas wish.

Rub-ons aangebracht op de zijkant en op elke kaart een kerstwens gestempeld.

To finish the cards off I added a few red accents.

De kaarten afgewerkt met enkele rode accenten.

Stamping with Stencils

 

I recently rediscovered the 'stamping with stencils technique' and I ended up with a bunch of colorful backgrounds for cards.

Ik herontdekte onlangs de 'stempelen met stencils techniek' en zo eindigde ik met een heleboel kleurige achtergronden voor kaarten.

I applied Distress Ink straight from the ink pad to various stencils. After spraying water on top I made prints on watercolor paper. 

It's a very easy technique with an unpredictable outcome but that's exactly why I love this technique :)

De techniek is simpel. Rechtstreeks met het inktkussen Distress Inkt aanbrengen op stencils, daar water over vernevelen en afdrukken maken op aquarelpapier.

De uitkomst is telkens een verrassing maar dat is net het leuke eraan :)

I used the backgrounds to make a set of kids cards.

Met de achtergronden maakte ik een reeks kaarten voor kinderen.

The branch, the numbers and wishes were stamped straight onto the backgrounds using Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. I stamped the birds and sheep on scraps of paper and adhered them to the cards using 3D tape.

De tak, de nummers en de wensen werden rechtstreeks op de achtergrond gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black'. Ik stempelde de vogels en het schaap op restjes wit papier en plakte die na het uitknippen op de kaarten met 3D tape.

I embellished each card with a few pompons.

Elke kaart versierd met een aantal pompons.

The sheep was decorated with fluffy yarn.

Het schaap kreeg een laagje pluizige wol.

I made a few cards using the new Distress Ink color that was recently released. 'Saltwater Taffy' is a color in between pink and soft orange. It totally fits my style :)

Ik maakte een aantal kaartjes met de nieuwe kleur Distress Inkt die onlangs uitkwam. 'Saltwater Taffy' is een kleur die zich ergens tussen roze en lichtoranje situeert. Past helemaal in mijn straatje :)

I applied 3 different colors Distress Ink onto a craft sheet, sprayed water on top and mopped up the ink with a sheet of Khadi paper. I cut a card panel out of that colored paper and glued it onto black and white patterned paper.

Ik bracht 3 kleuren Distress Inkt aan op een craft sheet, vernevelde er water over en nam de inkt op met een vel Khadi Paper. Hier een paneeltje uit geknipt en dat op zwart/wit gedessineerd papier gekleefd.

I colored the flowers with 'Saltwater Taffy' Distress Ink using a water brush.

De bloemen werden na het stempelen ingekleurd met 'Saltwater Taffy' Distress Inkt en een waterpenseel.

The pink ribbon is a leftover piece from my Willa Journal.

Het roze lint is een restje van mijn Willa Journal.

For the topic 'Water' I did some stamping with water.

I first colored 2 watercolor paper panels with various colors of Distress Ink.  I sprayed water on top of the 'Daisy Delight Background Stamp' by Darkroom Door and made a print on the colored panels. The water reacted with the Distress Ink and after a few seconds the flowers appeared on the background.

Voor het thema 'Water' stempelde ik met water.

Eerst kleurde ik 2 stukjes aquarelpapier met verschillende kleuren Distress Inkt. Water verneveld over de 'Daisy Delight' achtergrondstempel van Darkroom Door en prints gemaakt met de stempel op de gekleurde achtergronden. Het water reageerde met de inkt en na een paar tellen kwamen de bloemen tevoorschijn.

Today I made 2 one layer cards on watercolor paper. I started by stamping the flower, did the coloring with Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks.

Vandaag 2 eenlaagskaartjes gemaakt op aquarelpapier. Begonnen het stempelen van de bloem. Deze ingekleurd met Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks. 

Before stamping the background I masked off the flower.

The stamping of the squares was done with Scribble Sticks as well. 

Vooraleer de achtergrond te stempelen de bloem afgedekt met een 'mask'.

 De hokjes ook gestempeld met Scribble Sticks. 

On this card I worked with white embossing powder and Distress Inks.

Op deze kaart gewerkt met wit embossingpoeder en Distress Inkt.
