Leen -ons nichtje- en Steven trouwden gisteren. 

Ik maakte dit kaartje om het jonge paar te feliciteren.

Op een witte kaart eerst een paar rijen hartjes afgedrukt met mijn zelf gekerfde hartjes stempel. Dit bedekt met een laag wit vellum. De twee lagen aan elkaar vastgemaakt door middel van stiksels.

On a white card I stamped some hearts with my hand carved heart stamp.

Put a layer of white vellum on top. Attached the two layers to each other with some machine stitches. 

Vijf hartjes uitgeponst en bedekt met een laagje imitatie bladzilver.

I covered some punched hearts with a layer of silver leaf.

Deze week koos ik een blikje uit mijn verzameling van het merk 'GreenGate'. Ik ben niet alleen fan van hun blikjes maar ook en vooral van de "stippenkommetjes".

This week I've chosen a tin by GreenGate for my 'Card and Tins' series. I'm fond of their tins but I'm a huge fan of their dotted bowls too.

Een "makkelijk" blik om een verjaardagskaart van te maken. 

It wasn't hard at all to find inspiration for a birthday card..

Vlinders gebruikt van een oude stempelset van Elusive Images. 

De bloemennamen op de achtergrond schreef ik  met de hand met een Distress Marker.

The big butterflies are from an old set by Elusive Images. I wrote the flower names in the back by hand with a Distress Marker..

De Plaid achtergrond stempel van Darkroom Door kan ik ongeveer bij elke 'Cards and Tins' kaart gebruiken :)

I've used the Plaid Background Stamp by Darkroom Door on almost every 'Cards and Tins' card by now :).

De donkerblauwe kleur komt van een stempelkussentje van Memento 'Paris Dusk'. Al het andere stempelwerk is gedaan met Distress Markers. 

I did the stamping with Distress Markers, except for the darkest blue. That is done with an inkpad by Memento 'Paris Dusk'..

Het lapje stof met knoopjes van de Oxford Impressions set 'My Story' is één van mijn favoriete stempeltjes.

This piece of fabric with buttons is one of my favourite stamps. It's part of the 'My Story' stamp sheet by Oxford Impressions.

 Hier een klein vlindertje en 2 echte knoopjes toegevoegd.

 Added a small butterfly and 2 'real' buttons.

Het randje rondom de kaart stempelde ik met een stukje van dit zelf gekerfde chevron stempeltje.

I stamped the edges of the card with a part of this hand carved chevron stamp..

Zoals elke woensdag weer een kaart geïnspireerd op een blikken doosje uit mijn verzameling. 

Each Wednesday I show a card on my blog that is ispired by a tin box out of my collection.

Deze keer gaat het over een doosje waar een polshorloge in verpakt zat.

 This tin box was packaging material for a watch I once bought.

De basis voor de kaart is een pagina uit een Paper Pad van Basic Grey 'Stella Ruby'. Geïnspireerd door het deksel van de doos heb ik de Plaid stempel afgedrukt op groen papier met Distress Inkt 'Pumice Stone'. De vogel is uit dit papier geknipt. De vleugels en de vogelhuisjes heb ik van restjes gemaakt.
Een paar groene steken gemaakt om de vogelhuisjes 'op te hangen'.

For the background I used a sheet from a Paper Pad by Basic Grey 'Stella Ruby'. Inspired by the lid of the box, I stamped with the Plaid Background Stamp on green paper with Distress Ink Pumice Stone. I used this paper for the bird. The wings and birdhouses are made from paper scraps. I made some stitches as a hanging for the birdhouses.

Met een witte gelpen stippellijntjes gezet. 

I made some accents with a white Sharpie pen.

Toch een klein beetje stempelwerk :)

Voor dit kaartje drie verschillende Darkroom Door achtergrond stempels in zwart/wit afgedrukt. De tulpen gekleurd met Distress Inkt en een waterpenseel.

For this card I stamped three different Darkroom Door background stamps in black and white. Colored the tulips with Distress Ink and a water brush.

Kraaltjes op een Tim Holtz memo pin geregen.

Put some beads on a Tim Holtz memo pin.

Een stukje van de plaid stempelafruk in een 'Melissa Frances' frame geplakt en er een laagje Glossy Accents op aangebracht.

I glued a leftover of the plaid background in a Melissa Frances frame and put a layer of Glossy Accents on top.

Achtergrond gemaakt met Distress Inkt en water op een craft sheet. Een paar van mijn viooltjes foto's afgeprint. De bloemetjes uitgeknipt, bijgekleurd met potlood en opgeplakt.

The background is made with Distress Ink and water on a craft sheet. I printed some of my violet photos. Cut out the flowers, colored them with pencils and stuck them on the background.

Een maand-een boek 3A month-a book 3

Alweer het derde boekje voor het maandelijkse boekenproject met Dymphie. Dit keer koos zij het thema en dat heb ik geweten! "Alles behalve papier" was de uitdaging, niet zo makkelijk als je 't mij vraagt :)

Gezocht naar materialen die in de verste verte niet op papier of karton leken en al mijn 'vogelstempels' opgediept (plus de StazOn inkt). Resultaat: dit vogelboekje. Acht pagina's gevuld met vogels, veel foto's dus om te tonen. Elke foto kan vergroot worden door erop te klikken. 

This is the third book I made for my monthly challenge with Dymphie. She chose the theme for March. "Everything except paper" was the challenge! Not an easy theme if you ask me :) 

Looked through my supplies for some material other than paper or cardboard and gathered my bird stamps (and StazOn inks) to make this "bird book". Eight pages filled with all kinds of birds. So I have a lot of pictures to show you. Each photo is clickable to enlarge. 

Kaftjes gemaakt van een restje kurktegel, deze geverfd met gesso en bewerkt met structuurpasta. Daarna versierd met vilt, stof, stempel, lintje en kralen.

I made the covers out of a leftover of our cork-floor. Painted the cork with gesso and put a layer of structure paste on top. I decorated the front cover with felt, fabric, a stamp, ribbon and beads.

Een drankblik gerecycleerd tot pagina. Geplakt op een stukje dunne houtfineer. Versierd met een stoffen bloem. De tekst is gestempeld op een stukje metaal.

I recycled a tin, made a page of it and stuck it on a piece of wood veneer. Decorated the page with a fabric flower. I stamped the text on a piece of metal.

Gestempeld op doorzichtig hard plastic dat ik recupereerde van de verpakking van een Darkroom Door stempel. Erachter een foam pagina.

I stamped on a transparent sheet of acetate here, packaging material from Darkroom Door stamps. Behind it a piece of fuchsia foam.

Matte plastic sheet, vogelkooi gestanst uit heel dunne houtfineer. Daarna behandeld met gesso.

A sheet of frost white acetate, the cage and bird are die cuts. Used a kind of thin wood veneer on which I put some gesso.

 Vogels gestempeld op een stukje metaal en geplakt op witte foam. Dit bekleed met een doorzichtig stofje met fuchsia borduursel dat ik al eeuwen in mijn voorraad heb en eindelijk eens kon gebruiken!

I stamped the birds on a piece of metal and stuck it on white foam. Put a transparent piece of fabric with fuchsia embroidery on top of it. Had it in my closet for ages, glad I could finally use it!

Hier een vogel gestempeld op de achterkant van een stukje wit leder.

Here I stamped the bird on the backside of a piece of white leather.

Een pagina van metaaldraad en een stampbord tegeltje. Gestempeld en daarna de witte knopjes terug tevoorschijn getoverd door te krassen in het stampbord.

A sheet of metal 'wire' and a stampbord tile. I first stamped on the tile and then made the buds white again with a carving tool.

Mijn geverfde 'Zorana vogel' van dit kaartje afgeprint op stof (PhotoFabric) en op een laagje vilt en stof gestikt.

I printed the painted 'Zorana bird' on this card on paper backed fabric (PhotoFabric) and sewed it on a layer of felt and fabric.

Nog een pagina in matte plastic.

Once again an acetate sheet.

Die transparante pagina's zorgen ook aan de achterkant voor een mooi effect.

Those transparent pages look nice on the backside as well.

Structuurpasta waar ik even de 'sequin waste' induwde hier en daar.

I made some 'prints' into the structure paste with sequin waste.

Hier is het allemaal mee begonnen dus: een drankblik. Ik wilde graag zo'n tak in mijn boek :) De kleuren en afmetingen van het boek (14 x 14 cm) zijn afgestemd op zo'n blikje.

A tin of green tea was the start of this project. I wanted the image of the branche in my book :) The colors and size of the book (approx 6 x 6") are based on those tins.

Fresh Roses

Ik kreeg een stukje jute van Debbie (zie vorige blogpost) en dit was de aanzet voor deze kaart. Het ribbelkarton werd gerecupereerd van een verpakking en is bewerkt met gesso.

Debbie offered me some burlap (see previous post), the beginning of this card. The corrugated cardboard is packaging material, I put some gesso on top of it.

Een afdruk maken van een fotostempel is niet zo simpel als het lijkt. Het lukte uiteindelijk op glad papier met Versafine inkt (#Crimson Red).

Stamping with a photostamp is not as easy as it seems. I had to make several try-outs before the result was satisfying. I finally used some smooth paper and Versafine Ink (#Crimson Red).

De "Fresh Roses" tekst is afgedrukt op een achtergrond van Glimmermist.

 The "Fresh Roses" text is stamped on a background colored with Glimmermist.

Een knoopje, waar ik het ijzeren oogje van verwijderde, op de bloem geplakt.

I first removed the eye from a button, then stuck it on the flower.

Christmas Tag #2

Ik maakte nog maar heel weinig labels, maar ik geloof dat daar verandering in gaat komen, ik krijg de smaak te pakken :)

 Mijn labels hebben dezelfde afmetingen als de Christmas tags van Tim Holtz (15,5 op 8 cm), daar kan je al het één en ander op kwijt!

Untill now I only made a few tags, but I like doing this! I think I'll make more of these in the future :) My tags have the same size as the tags Tim Holtz uses for his "12 tags of Christmas", fun to work with!

I stamped the birds with Distress Ink #Barn Door, distressed the edges with Walnut Stain.

Bloem gemaakt van tissue tape (leuk om te doen en heel eenvoudig), knoop uit mijn voorraad. Ik heb geen "Speckled Background" stempel die sneeuw nabootst, ik gebruikte wat gesso en mijn afwasborsteltje om mee te stempelen :)

I made a flower out of tissue tape (fun to do and very easy), found this button  in my supplies. I don't have the 'Speckled Background stamp" to imitate snow, I used my washing-up brush and some gesso to stamp with.
