Wie mij al langer volgt weet dat ik vroeger een blikjeskaarten item had hier op mijn blog. Ik maakte toen af en toe een kaart geïnspireerd op een blikje uit mijn grote verzameling.

I've made a fresh start with this cute tin.

De achtergrond van de 10 x 10 kaartjes verfde ik met een mengeling van witte en crèmekleurige acrylverf.

I painted the background of the 4 x 4" cards with white and cream acrylic paint.

Voor de appeltjes een sjabloon gesneden en hier doorheen gesponst met rode en roze verf.

To create the apples I've cut a stencil and sponged through it with red and pink paint.

Steeltjes en blaadjes met de vrije hand 'geschilderd'.

I painted the leaves and stems free handed.

Voor de motieven in de appels stencils gebruikt.

To create the pattern inside the apples I used stencils.

Weer een eenvoudig  éénlaagskaartje vandaag.

Once again a simple one layer card today.

 Voor de achtergrond mijn nieuwe Tim Holtz patchwork stempel afgedrukt met Distress Paints. Omdat ik er nog met zwart overheen wilde stempelen koos ik lichte verfkleuren uit.

To create the background I used my new Tim Holtz patchwork stamp in combination with Distress Paints. I've chosen soft colors so I could add some black stamping on top.

Skateboard #4

Hier de skateboard stempel 2 keer over mekaar afgedrukt. Eerst 2 kleuren verf opgenomen met een brayer. Ervoor gezorgd dat het dunne laagje groene en blauwe verf netjes naast mekaar bleef op de brayer. Dit over de stempel gerold en afgedrukt. Voor deze techniek gebruik je best een stempel die breed genoeg is. Nadat de verf droog was de print overstempeld met zwarte inkt.

On this card I did two stamp prints on top of each other. To start I picked up a thin layer of green and blue paint with a brayer. I made sure the green paint was at one side, blue at the other. I loaded the stamp with that paint and made a first print. After drying I overstamped the print with black ink.

De bloemetjes deed ik met 2 stempels uit de Full Bloom Vol 2 set die bij mekaar passen. De 'volle' stempel met verf afgedrukt en de 'open' variant met zwarte inkt.

I stamped mini solid flowers from the Full Bloom Vol 2 set on a paper scrap using blue paint. I overstamped these with the open flower stamp from the same set using black ink.

Inspiration Wednesday 2016 #10

Vorige week een kleurige spread gemaakt in mijn Inspiration Wednesday journal. 

Last week I've made a colorful spread in my Inspiration Wednesday journal.

Hiervoor een leuke techniek met waterverf gebruikt.

I used a fun watercolor technique.

Je legt een stencil op het papier en kleurt alles met waterverf. De verf goed nat maken zodat er veel verf onder de stencil kruipt. Net het tegenovergestelde van wat je normaal doet dus :)

Put a stencil on the page, apply watercolor paint on top. Use lots of water together with the paint to make the paint seep underneath the stencil.

De stencil laten liggen tot alles droog is.

Keep the stencil in place until the paint is completely dry. 

Doordat de verf zich onder de stencil verzamelt krijg je een mooi donker patroon op die plaats.

After lifting the stencil you'll have markings underneath where the watercolor has collected.

Nog wat accenten aangebracht met een witte pen en een quote gestempeld en toen was het al klaar.

To finish the spread off I added details with a white pen and stamped a quote op top.

Hier één van de mooie bloemen uit de Darkroom Door Fine Flowers stempelset gebruikt.

On this card I used one of the Darkroom Door Fine Flowers, such a fabulous stamp set.

Voor de achtergrond deze IndigoBlu stempel beïnkt met Distress Paint Twisted Citron en Tumbled Glass.

On the background I used this stamp by IndigoBlu, inked it up with Distress Paint Twisted Citron and Tumbled Glass.
