 I used my hand carved snowdrop stamp in a totally different way on this set of cards.

Mijn zelf gekerfde sneeuwklokje eens op een ander manier ingezet bij deze reeks kaarten.

 For a more abstract look I've chosen to work with non traditional colors.

I did the stamping with Distress Oxide Ink and only used one color per card.

Ik koos voor een meer abstracte look door te werken met niet traditionele kleuren. Ik hield het bij één kleur per kaart en ik stempelde met Distress Oxide Inkt.

For the backgrounds of the cards I used paper from a Masterpiece Design paper pad.

Voor de achtergrond van de kaarten werkte ik met papier uit een Masterpiece Design papierblok.

On each card I made a few cross stitches with embroidery floss.

Op elke kaart een aantal kruisjessteken gemaakt met borduurgaren.

Before attaching the stamped panels to the cards I inserted a small paper tab.

Vooraleer de paneeltjes op de kaarten te kleven bevestigde ik een papieren tabje. 

Here I added a frame that was cut out of matching plain paper. 

In fact I only wanted to hide a not so crisp stamped frame :) 

Hier kleefde ik een extra kader op dat ik sneed uit bijpassend effen papier. 

In feite wilde ik alleen een niet zo mooi gestempelde rand wegmoffelen :)

Sympathy Cards #22

 

Last week I made 2 Sympathy Cards using Penny Black stamps.

Afgelopen week maakte ik 2 sterkte kaarten met Penny Black stempels.

I worked on watercolor paper and used Distress Ink to do the stamping. 

Ik werkte op aquarelpapier en om te stempelen gebruikte ik Distress Inkt. 

 I've chosen shades of green and turquoise colors.

Ik koos voor tinten groene en turquoise inkt.

Snowdrops #1

 

On today's cards I used one of my hand carved stamps.

Voor de kaartjes van vandaag gebruikte ik een home made stempel.

I inked up the snowdrop stamp with various shades of green Distress Ink, sprayed water on top of the ink and made a print on watercolor paper. I cut out the different elements, reassembled the flower and attached it on a white panel. I outlined the petals and stem with a black fineliner.

De stempel beïnkt met verschillende tinten groene Distress Inkt, water verneveld op de inkt en een print gemaakt op aquarelpapier. De verschillende delen van de bloem uitgeknipt, de bloem opnieuw samengesteld en op wit papier geplakt. De steel en de blaadjes omlijnd met een zwarte fineliner.

The frame around the flowers was done with pink Flower Soft.

I finished the cards off by stamping a birthday wish.

Ronde elk sneeuwklokje maakte ik een kader van Flower Soft.

De kaarten afgewerkt met een verjaardagswens.

I have a lot of stamps, even favorite ones, that I forgot about for quite a while. 

I have the intention to dust off those stamps in 2023.

Ik heb een heleboel stempels, waaronder ook een aantal favorieten, die ik al een tijdje uit het oog verloren ben. Ik nam me voor om in 2023 deze stempels eens van onder het stof te halen.

For this set of cards I picked a box with 4 flower stamps by Hero Arts.

Voor de kaartjes van vandaag koos ik een doosje met 4 stempels van Hero Arts.

I almost never buy stamps mounted on wood anymore because I'm addicted to my stamping platform :)

But in my opinion the wooden stamps from back in the days still have a lot of charm.

Ik koop bijna nooit meer stempels op hout, vooral omdat ik 'verslaafd' ben aan mijn stempel platform :)

Maar de houten stempels van toen hebben nog steeds veel charme vind ik.

I inked up the stamps with various colors of Distress Ink. For a watercolor look I sprayed water on top of the ink before making the prints on watercolor paper. 

De stempels beïnkt met verschillende kleuren Distress Inkt. Om een aquarel effect te bekomen de inkt verneveld met water alvorens een afdruk te maken op aquarelpapier.

With my 16 prints I made 4 different color combinations.

Met mijn 16 prints maakte ik 4 verschillende kleuren combinaties.

I adhered the watercolor panels to the cards and finished the cards off by stamping a birthday wish.

De paneeltjes op de kaarten bevestigd en de kaarten afgewerkt met een verjaardagswens.

Pompon Sheep #3

 

Tackling unfinished projects, another intention of me for 2023.

Last year I made a set of cards and a canvas with sheep made of pompons.

While working on it I made up my mind to create another canvas with a green sheep but it took me until now to finish this canvas.

Half afgewerkte projecten afwerken, nog een voornemen van me voor 2023.

Vorig jaar maakte ik een set kaarten en een canvas met schapen gemaakt van pompons erop.

Toen nam ik me voor om ook nog een canvas te maken met een groen schaap maar pas nu vond ik de tijd om dit af te werken. 

I started by covering the canvas (20 x 20 cm) with tissue paper on which I made gel prints. Next I added text. The text was stamped on tissue paper as well.

Eerst het canvas (20 x 20 cm) vol gekleefd met tissue papier waar ik gel prints op maakte. Daarna text opgeplakt die ik ook eerst stempelde op tissue papier.

The legs of the sheep were painted straight onto the canvas. The head and ears were cut out of mixed media paper and were colored black before adhering to the canvas with 3D tape.

De poten van het schaap rechtstreeks op het canvas geschilderd. De kop en oren uit mixed media papier geknipt, zwart geverfd en met 3D tape op het canvas geplakt.

For the body I used 3 different sizes of pompons and I filled up the gaps in between the pompons with green thread.

Voor het lijfje drie verschillende maten pompons opgeplakt en de ruimte tussen de pompons opgevuld met groen garen.

The one I made last year.

Deze maakte ik vorig jaar.
