Sheep

 

A while ago I watched a video on YouTube by Diane Antone Studio. I was immediately in love with these sheep, put these on my to do list. This week I finally had the time to give it a try.

Een tijdje geleden botste ik op een leuk filmpje op YouTube van Diane Antone Studio. Sindsdien staan deze schaapjes op mijn to do lijst. Afgelopen week is het er eindelijk van gekomen om ze te schilderen.

Diane has a bunch of free instruction video's on YouTube on easy watercolor paintings. 

Er zijn veel gratis filmpjes van Diane te vinden op YouTube. Ze demonstreert vaak eenvoudige maar heel mooie schilderijtjes met aquarelverf.

I used my color swatches tag books to pick 6 favorite colors. 

Ik gebruikte de stalenboekjes die ik lang geleden maakte om 6 favoriete kleuren uit te kiezen. 

I added shadow and details with pencils, a white POSCA pen and a black fineliner.

Ik bracht schaduw en details aan met kleurpotloden, een witte POSCA pen en een zwarte fineliner.

Anemone #2

 

On today's card I used the new Anemone stamp by Different Colors. I stamped the flowers using Archival Ink 'Jet Black'. The coloring was done with watercolor paint.

Deze kaart gemaakt met de nieuwe Anemoon stempel van Different Colors. De bloemen stempelde ik deze keer met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black'. Ze werden ingekleurd met aquarelverf.

More Flowers

 

The "Flowers Magic Challenge" by Francisca Nunes came to an end but I'm still busy filling the pages of my junk journal with flowers.

Here I added 2 stamped flowers to an eco printed page. 

De 'Flowers Magic Challenge" is afgelopen maar ik ga nog even door met het vullen van mijn junk journal met bloemen.

Hier kleefde ik twee gestempelde bloemen op een eco print.

I completed the spread by adding marks, a tab, a piece of one of my 'snippet rolls' and a few rub-ons.

Verder nog 'marks', een tabje, een stukje van één van mijn 'snippet rolls' en een aantal rub-ons toegevoegd.

Here I started by making scribbles with a pencil. I randomly stamped with the 'Abstract Stamp - Distressed Diamonds' by Darkroom Door and adhered 5 orange circles and a stamped heart. The circles were punched out of tissue paper that I colored with Dylusions Ink Spray first. I outlined the circles using an orange Distress Crayon and a black Stabilo All pencil.

Hier eerst met een gewoon potlood krabbels gemaakt. Daarna op willekeurige plaatsen gestempeld met de 'Abstract Stamp - Distressed Diamonds' van Darkroom Door. Vijf oranje cirkels opgeplakt en een hart. De cirkels met een pons uit tissue papier gesneden, het tissue papier eerst gekleurd met Dylusions Ink Spray. De cirkels omlijnd met een oranje Distress Crayon en een zwart Stabilo All potlood.

I finished the spread off by adding one of my 'Wonky Bits' flowers.

The page on the left is from a Dina Wakley Media Collage Book, not my work!

On the right I drew some simple flowers that I colored with Distress Crayons. The light green handmade paper with a lot of texture was not an easy surface to work on.

De pagina links komt uit een boek met papier van Dina Wakley, niet mijn werk dus!

Rechts tekende ik een aantal simpele bloemen die ik inkleurde met Distress Crayons. Het lichtgroene handgeschept papier met véél textuur was geen makkelijke ondergrond om op te werken.

I'm currently taking part in the "Flowers Magic Challenge" by Francisca Nunes. We started by making a junk journal and now we are filling it with all kinds of flower projects. 

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. 

I again made a collage inspired by the work of Roben Marie Smith.

The text on the right page was already there, the light orange and blue colors are the result of the eco printing I did while making this junk journal.

I adhered scraps of black and white tissue paper, applied white paint and green watercolor paint, stamped black tiny circles and made marks using fluorescent paint and a black Stabilo All pencil.

Opnieuw een collage gemaakt geïnspireerd op het werk van Roben Marie Smith.

De tekst stond al op de rechterpagina en de licht oranje en blauwe kleur komt van het eco printen. Ik plakte stukjes zwart/wit tissue papier op, maakte vegen met witte verf, bracht groene aquarelverf aan, stempelde zwarte rondjes en maakte marks met fluo verf en een zwart Stabilo All potlood.

I adhered a watercolor flower and some circles to the right page. The leaves on the left page were painted straight onto the background.

De bloem en de cirkels op de rechterpagina zijn opgeplakt. De tak links verfde ik met aquarelverf rechtstreeks op de achtergrond.

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. 

This page is inspired by a lesson by Roben Marie Smith. She challenged us to make a collage in our junk journal. I added patterned paper, stamped prints, gel prints, a watercolor flower, images from wrapping paper, leftover wonky bits....and made lots of marks using a black Stabilo All pencil and Distress Crayons.

Deze pagina is geïnspireerd op een lesje van Roben Marie Smith. Ze daagde ons uit om een collage te maken. Ik werkte met gedessineerd papier, gestempelde prints, gel prints, een bloem die ik ooit verfde met aquarelverf, afbeeldingen van op cadeaupapier, restjes van mijn 'wonky bits' ... en bracht details aan met een zwart Stabilo All potlood en Distress Crayons.

The outcome is a bit busy in my believe but I had a great time making this collage 

Tomorrow I'll post a collage that is less busy :)

Het resultaat is nogal druk geworden vind ik maar het was wel heel leuk om te doen 

Morgen post ik een collage die er minder druk uitziet :)

Flower Doodles

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. 

Suzanne from @mitkrearum showed us how to doodle simple flowers inspired by nature. I picked a few Japanese Anemones from the garden and worked on an eco dyed page in my junk journal.

Susanne van @mitkrearum toonde hoe je simpele bloemen tekent, geïnspireerd op echte bloemen uit de natuur. Ik plukte een paar herfstanemonen uit de tuin en werkte op een pagina in mijn junk journal waar al een eco print op stond.

The page was folded out of wrapping paper from a flower bouquet, for sure a challenging surface to draw on and to put watercolors on :)

Ik vouwde de pagina van dun papier dat rond een bloemenboeket zat, zonder twijfel een uitdagende ondergrond om op te tekenen en te schilderen met aquarelverf :)

In my opinion the flowers match well with the gel print on the left page. I'm always happy if both pages from a spread do look cohesive.

De bloemen passen goed bij de gel print op de linker pagina. Ik ben altijd blij als beide pagina's van een spread een beetje met elkaar matchen.

For this page I was again inspired by a lesson from Joana Dornellas.

 The background as well as the vase and the flowers were painted with acrylic paint and finished off with oil pastels.

Voor deze pagina werd ik opnieuw geïnspireerd door een les van Joana Dornellas. De achtergrond, de vaas en de bloemen werden met acrylverf geschilderd en afgewerkt met olie pastels. 

 I picked colors that match with the page on the left.

Ik koos voor kleuren die passen bij de linker pagina.

For the left page I was inspired by a lesson from Joana Dornellas. I worked on top of a gel print.

Voor deze pagina werd ik geïnspireerd door een les van Joana Dornellas. De pagina waar ik op werkte is een gel print.

For the right page I was inspired by a pattern on a blouse. 

Voor de rechter pagina liet ik me inspireren door een patroon op een bloes.

I stamped squares with acrylic paint and drew flowers on top using acrylic paint and oil pastels. 

Hokjes gestempeld met acrylverf en daar bloemen op getekend met een combinatie van acrylverf en olie pastels.

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. Voor deze pagina werd ik geïnspireerd door Camila Garcia.

To create some kind of boho style I mixed colors, textures and patterns. Did some mark making with  several colors of watercolor paint on a collaged background.

Om een soort van boho stijl te creëren combineerde ik kleuren, patronen en texturen. Over een collage achtergrond strepen gezet met verschillende kleuren aquarelverf.

For the flowers I was inspired by an Instagram reel by Anastasia Sälinger.

 Voor de bloemen liet ik me inspireren door een Instagram reel van Anastasia Sälinger.

On the collaged background I used pink flowers from a napkin by Marimekko.

Voor de collage achtergrond gebruikte ik onder andere bloemen afkomstig van een papieren servet van Marimekko.

For the Love of Flowers

We started by making a junk journal and now we are filling it with all kinds of flower projects. For these paintings I was inspired by a lesson from Michelle Shratz aka raspberrybluesky. 

"Flowers Magic is a free challenge for mixed media artists and art journal lovers, who love and are inspired by the magic world of flowers."

Ik doe mee met de "Flowers Magic Challenge" van Francisca Nunes. We zijn begonnen met het maken van een  junk journal en nu vullen we dat boekje met allerlei projecten met bloemen. Voor deze schilderijtjes werd ik geïnspireerd door Michelle Shratz aka raspberrybluesky.

I used a black Stabilo All pencil and watercolor paint to capture the beauty of roses.

Met een zwart Stabilo All potlood en aquarelverf geprobeerd om de schoonheid van rozen weer te geven.

I glued two of the watercolor panels in my junk journal.

Twee van de paneeltjes in mijn junk journal gekleefd.

To decorate the pages I used parts of the snippet rolls I made a while ago.

De pagina's versierd met stukjes van de 'snippet rolls' die ik een tijd geleden maakte.

And of course I had to use one of the panels on a card :)

En natuurlijk maakte ik ook een kaart met één van de tekeningen :)

Accordion Books Challenge #1

 

I made this 8-pocket accordion book for the "Accordion Books Challenge" by Ali  Manning aka vintagepagedesigns.

Ik vouwde dit accordeon boekje met 8 vakken voor de "Accordion Books Challenge" van Ali Manning aka vintagepagedesigns.

I kept the accordion book simple, wanted the tags to be the eye catcher.

Ik hield het boekje zelf simpel, ik wilde dat de labels het middelpunt werden.

I decorated the front cover using stamps by Dina Wakley.

De voorkant versierd me stempels van Dina Wakley.

I folded 8 pockets to hold the tags.

In de 8 vakjes passen 8 labels.

I decorated the inside pages of the book with a border stamp by JOFY.

De pagina's binnenin versierd met een stempel van JOFY.

I dyed white seam binding ribbon with Distress Inks and used that colored ribbon for the tag toppers and the closure.

Ik verfde wit naadlint met Distress Inkt en gebruikte dat voor de sluiting en als decoratie voor de  labels.

I colored the tags with watercolor paint.

De labels kleurde ik met aquarelverf.

I worked on one panel and divided the panel into 8 strips after finishing it off.

I applied this technique in the past on THESE tags as well.

Gewerkt op 1 paneel dat ik achteraf verknipte tot 8 stroken.

Deze manier van werken paste ik ook al toe bij DEZE labels.

I transformed each strip of paper into a tag.

Van elke strook papier maakte ik een label.

The large panel looked very busy but when you look at the tags one by one it seems ok I think.

Het grote paneel leek heel druk maar na het verknippen viel dat toch heel goed mee.

If I would have made each tag separately I would never have reached this effect.

Als ik elk label afzonderlijk had gemaakt, had ik nooit dit effect kunnen bereiken.
