Een 'flashy' pagina in mijn Art Journal met als thema 'familie'. Mijn familie uitgebeeld via deze bloemetjes. Rechts zie je het gezin waarin ik opgroeide en links mijn eigen gezinnetje.

Gemaakt met Dylusions Spray Inkten en Glimmer Mist. 

A 'flashy' spread in my Art Journal. The theme is 'family'. Tried to represent my family through these poppies. On the right, the family in which I grew up, on the left my own little family.

Made the pages with Dylusions Spray Inks and Glimmer Mist.

De 'poppies' gemaakt met 2 sjablonen (cirkel en taartpapiertje/bloem).

I made 'the poppies' with 2 templates (circle and paper doily/flower mask).

Daarna alle bloemen gemaskerd en de achtergrond gekleurd met Dylusions Spray Inkten.

After masking the flowers I sprayed the background with Dylusions Spray Inks.

Sjablonen en Distress Inkt gebruikt om de randen en letters in de achtergrond te sponzen. Zwarte stiften, witte gelpen, Distress Inkt, pastelkrijt...kwamen er aan te pas voordat de stelen en blaadjes 'goed' bevonden werden :)

I sponged the edges and letters with Distress Ink and stencils. Added accents to the stems and leaves with a gelpen, Distress Ink and soft pastels.

Geen enkele stempel gebruikt, hoe is dat nu mogelijk :)

Didn't do any stamping on these pages. Strange :)

This card is totally inspired by the previous Art Journal spread.

Bloemen gemaakt van reepjes stof. Ik toonde eerder al eens hoe ik dat doe.

Pagina 6 al in mijn Art Journal. 

We gaan nog even verder met het item balans/cirkels...hier gaat het over vriendschap.  Het zit wel ok met mijn maatjes als ik het resultaat bekijk :)

Page 6 in my Art Journal already. Again the balance/circle theme....here  I put 'friendship' in the picture. The spread turned out quite cheerful, no complains about my friends :) 

Voor de ondergrond gestart met laagjes papier (teks en rastermotief). Deze geverfd met acrylverf. Voor de onderkant gebruikte ik een sjabloon.

I covered the pages with scraps of paper (text and dots) first. Colored it with acrylic paint. At the bottom of the page I used a template. 

Hier en daar stukjes van de 'Friendship' tekststempel gestempeld. 

Added some texture to the pages with the 'Friendship' text stamp.

Voor de bloemetje met plakparels een papieren rondje gebruikt als mal. Daar de steentjes rond geplakt. 

For the sticky pearl flowers, I used a paper circle as a pattern.

Rondjes geknipt uit verschillende stofjes en daar nonchalante laagjesbloemen van gemaakt.

Cut lots of fabric circles to make these layered flowers.

De blaadjes en stelen zijn gemaakt van een pagina uit een oud boek.

Reepjes tekst op de stelen gekleefd.

Stems and leaves were made from a text page of an old book.

Added text strips on top. 

Een zomerproject waar ik me helemaal kan in uitleven :)

Art Journal Challenge #23 Stitches

Alweer juli vandaag. Tijd voor een nieuwe challenge bij  Art Journey Design Team Blog.

Deze keer mocht ik het thema kiezen. Ik koos voor "steekjes". Dus haal die naaimachine van onder het stof of maak een paar steekjes met de hand, om het even. Als er maar steekjes te zien zijn op je werk in combinatie met Art Journey stempels natuurlijk. Als je meedoet maak je kans op een mooie prijs!

 I've chosen the theme for challenge #23: "stitches". So dig up that sewing machine or make a few stitches by hand. As long as you use some stitches in your art in combination with Art Journey stamps it's fine. Als voorbeeld voor deze uitdaging maakte ik een harmonica boekje met bierviltjes.

To inspire you I made a harmonica folded booklet from beer coasters.

12 bierviltjes geverfd met gesso en acrylverf en 2 per 2 op elkaar gekleefd.

I painted 12 coasters with gesso and acrylic paint an glued them together 2 by 2.

Er gelijktijdig een gescheurde reep stof tussen geplakt die de pagina's verbindt.

At the same time I put a piece of torn fabric in between the coasters to connects the pages.

Met de uiteinden van de stof kan het boek gesloten worden.

The book can be closed with the ends of the fabric.

Ik wilde aan de hand van dit boekje graag een paar mogelijkheden met steekjes tonen. Op deze eerste pagina maakte ik een paar kruisjessteken. Altijd mooi om er daar een paar van op een kaart te zetten.

I made this book to show you a few possibilities with stitches. I made some cross-stitches on the first page. Cross-stitches always look fab on cards!

Met een stukje doorzichtige stof en wat steekjes een zakje gemaakt.  Daar de stempelafdruk met de noten ingeschoven.

Made a pocket with a leftover of transparant fabric and some stitches. I put a stamped image into the pocket.

Stitches can be used as a frame.

Hier de stelen aangezet dmv steekjes.

I got the stems accented by stitches here.

Voor de achterkant een hart gestempeld en geëmbossed. Gemat op een stukje stof.

For the back cover I stamped and heat embossed a heart. Stuck it on a scrap of fabric.

Op elke pagina ook wat witte accenten aangebracht met mijn favoriete pen van het ogenblik :)

Alle stempels zijn van Art Journey, ook de woorden!

Made a few white accents on each page with my favourite pen of the moment :)
