Ransom Alphabet #3

 

Today I'm sharing another card I made using the new Ransom Alphabet stamp set by Darkroom Door. First I picked a range of Distress Oxide Inks out of my stash.

Nog een kaartje dat ik maakte met de nieuwe Ransom Alphabet stempel set van Darkroom Door. Hiervoor een heleboel kleurtjes Distress Oxide Inkt uit de kast getrokken.

Next I created a grid pattern by sponging various colors of Distress Oxide Inks through the 'Small Stencil - Square Set'. I cut a square panel ( 6 x 6'') out of that grid pattern.

Eerst een rasterpatroon gemaakt door met verschillende kleuren Distress Oxide Inkt te sponzen doorheen de 'Small Stencil - Square Set'. Uit dit raster een vierkant gesneden van 15 x 15 cm.

I randomly overstamped the colored background using stamps from the new Mini Marks stamp set.

I looked for a quote about 'color' and stamped the letters on scraps of white paper using Archival Ink 'Jet Black' and Distress Oxide Ink. After cutting out I put the letters in the right order and adhered them to the card.

Cutting out these letters is definitely a piece of cake :)

I added a few accents with a black fineliner.

Met stempels uit de nieuwe Mini Marks stempel set op willekeurige plaatsen gestempeld op de kaart. 

Een quote over 'kleur' gezocht en de letters hiervoor gestempeld op restjes wit papier met Archival Inkt 'Jet Black' en ook met Distress Oxide Inkt. Na het uitknippen de quote samengesteld en de letters op de kaart geplakt. Het uitknippen van die letters, dat is echt een meevaller :)

Nog wat accenten aangebracht met een zwarte fineliner.

I recently joined the 'Tis the Season' workshop on Facebook by Jo Firth-Young.

For this card I was inspired by this workshop. 

Recent nam ik deel aan de 'Tis the Season' workshop op Facebook van Jo Firth-Young. Dit kaartje is geïnspireerd op deze workshop. 

It was all about the new stamp set JoFY 119, the one with the large wobbly tree.

All the stamps used on this card are from this set, except for the Christmas wish.

De stempels die ik gebruikte komen allemaal uit de nieuwe JoFY 119 set, behalve de wens. De workshop stond dan ook in het teken van deze nieuwe stempelset.

I also made 2 cards using the cute 'Mini Marks' stamps by Darkroom Door.

Ook nog 2 kaartjes gemaakt met de leuke 'Mini Marks' stempels van Darkroom Door in de hoofdrol.

I started by making a few gel prints to use on the background. I applied various colors of acrylic paint onto a gel printing plate and pulled some prints. For this card I used a ghost print.

Voor de achtergronden van beide kaarten eerst gel prints gemaakt. Verschillende kleuren acrylverf in strepen aangebracht op een gel printing plate en prints gemaakt. Voor deze kaart gebruikte ik een ghost print.

I overstamped the gel prints randomly with stamps from the 'Mini Marks' set using various colors of Archival Ink. The beautiful quote is from the new 'Sunflowers' stamp set.

Met verschillende kleuren Archival Inkt en stempels uit de 'Mini Marks' set willekeurig gestempeld over de achtergrond. De mooie quote komt uit de nieuwe 'Sunflowers' stempel set. 

This card was done the same way. I finished it off by stamping leaves and a birthday wish.

Voor deze kaart op dezelfde manier te werk gegaan. Afgewerkt met een takje en een verjaardagswens.

Darkroom Door recently released a lot of new stamp sets. 

On this set of tags I used the new 'Mini Marks' stamp set.

Recent bracht Darkroom Door weer veel nieuwe stempels uit.  

Voor de 3 labels van vandaag werkte ik met de nieuwe 'Mini Marks' stempel set.

I started by die cutting tags out of watercolor paper and stamped the sunflowers, dots, squares and script onto the tags using white acrylic paint. The tags were colored with Distress Ink. I used the new color 'Lumberjack Plaid', tried out a few color combinations with that vibrant red color.

Eerst de labels gesneden uit aquarelpapier. Daarna met witte acrylverf de zonnebloemen, het script, de dots en de hokjes gestempeld. Daarna de labels gekleurd met Distress Inkt. Ik werkte met de nieuwe kleur 'Lumberjack Plaid'. Ik probeerde een drietal kleurcombinaties uit met deze levendige rode kleur. 

For each tag I applied 3 colors of Distress Ink onto a craft sheet, sprayed water on top and dragged the tags through that puddle. The white paint works as a resist, love the outcome! After drying I made some splatters on the tags using water.

Telkens 3 kleuren inkt op een craft sheet aangebracht, daar water over verneveld en de labels door die inkt 'gesleept'. De witte verf werkt als een resist, het resultaat verraste me. Na het drogen spetters gemaakt met water. 

I used stamps from the 'Mini Marks' set to overstamp the colored background. For the stamping I used the same colors as I used on the background but in the Oxide version. 

Met stempels van de 'Mini Marks' set gestempeld over de gekleurde achtergrond. Ik gebruikte dezelfde kleuren inkt maar in de Oxide versie.

There are 18 stamps in the set so there is a lot of choice! Yet I limited myself to 2 à 3 different stamps per tag. Together with the tone on tone stamping this ensures an outcome that is not too busy.

Er zitten 18 motieven in de set, veel keuze dus! Ik koos er toch voor om maar 2 à 3 verschillende stempels te gebruiken per label. Samen met de toon op toon kleuren zorgt dit ervoor dat het eindresultaat niet al te druk wordt.

I already made a card with these snowmen, this time I made a tag with 'Twig & Stump'. 

 I colored the scarfs, the hat, the bonnet and the tree with Distress Ink. The noses and arms were die cut out of patterned paper. For the background I used a gel print on which I adhered a few snowflakes. 

I attached strips of washi tape to the bottom of the tag and glued a die cut fence behind the snowmen. 

I finished the tag off by adding a tab, red ribbon, a pompon, droplets and label tape. 

Ik maakte eerder al een kaart met deze sneeuwmannen, deze keer maakte ik een label met 'Twig & Stump'. 

 De sjaals, de hoed, de muts en de kerstboom gekleurd met Distress Inkt. Voor de neuzen en armen gebruikte ik gedessineerd papier.

Op de achtergrond is een gel print te zien waar ik een paar sneeuwsterren op kleefde. 

Onderaan het label eerst een aantal stroken washi tape geplakt. Ook nog een hekje uitgestanst en dat achter de sneeuwmannen gekleefd. Alles afgewerkt met een tabje, een pompon, rood lint, droplets en label tape.

I made two cards using the bobbly 'JoFY tree' I worked with before. This time I had the intention to keep the cards as clean and simple as possible

Twee kaartjes gemaakt met de 'JoFY boom' waar ik al eerder kaarten mee maakte. Deze keer geprobeerd om de kaarten zo simpel mogelijk te houden.

For the background I used paper from a paper pad by Studio Light.

Voor de achtergrond papier gebruikt uit een papierblokje van Studio Light.

On the trees I again applied the paper piecing technique. For this card I worked with patterned paper in various green colors.

Op de bomen opnieuw de paper piecing techniek toegepast. Hier verschillende soorten groen gedessineerd papier gebruikt.

The wishes were stamped with stamps from the 'Yuletide Greetings' stamp set by Darkroom Door.

Voor de wensen stempels gebruikt uit de 'Yuletide Greetings' stempel set van Darkroom Door.

The 4 cards I'm sharing today were made after watching the Tim Holtz Holiday Hoopla 2022 -  Part 1 on YouTube.

In that live Tim demonstrates how to make Sparkly Watercolor Tree Cards.

De 4 kaartjes van vandaag maakte ik na het bekijken van de Holiday Hoopla 2022 - Part 1 van Tim Holtz op YouTube.

In deze live demonstreert Tim hoe je Sparkly Watercolor Tree Cards maakt.

I started by stamping the 'Bottlebrush Trees' on watercolor paper using various colors of Distress Ink. For a watercolor look I sprayed water on top of the inked-up stamp before making the print.

Begonnen met het stempelen van de 'Bottlebrush Trees' op aquarelpapier met verschillende kleuren Distress Inkt. Voor het afdrukken eerst water verneveld op de beïnkte stempel.

After drying I overstamped the trees with Versamark ink, sprinkled Sticky Embossing Powder on top, heated this powder with the heat tool before sprinkling Distress Glitter 'Clear Rock Candy' on top. The Sticky Embossing Powder works as a glue and holds the Distress Glitter in place.

Na het drogen de bomen nog een keer bestempeld met Versamark Inkt. Sticky embossing poeder over de natte afdruk gestrooid en dat kort verhit met de heat tool. Onmiddellijk Distress Glitter 'Clear Rock Candy' over de bomen gestrooid. Het Sticky embossing poeder werkt als lijm en houdt de Distress Glitter vast.

I left the stamp and the paper in the same place on my stamping platform during the whole process. 

Tijdens het hele proces de stempel en het papier op dezelfde plaats gehouden op mijn stamping platform.

I used a die to die cut panels out of the watercolor paper. Each panel was matted onto handmade paper before adhering it to a top fold card.

Met een stans paneeltjes gesneden uit het aquarelpapier. Elk paneeltje op een stukje handgeschept papier gemat en het geheel op een dubbele witte kaart gekleefd.

It's not easy to catch the glitter on the photos :)

For the wreath on today's Christmas card I used a large stamp by PaperArtsy. The text was done with a stamp by Darkroom Door.

Voor de krans op het kaartje van vandaag gebruikte ik een grote stempel van PaperArtsy. De tekst deed ik met een stempel van Darkroom Door.

On this card I applied the paper piecing technique. For the ornaments I used gel prints, for the bow I used patterned paper.

De paper piecing techniek toegepast. Voor de kerstballen gebruikte ik gel prints, voor de strik gedessineerd papier.

For today's Christmas card I started by sponging through the 'Small Stencil - Checkered' with the new Distress Ink 'Lumberjack Plaid'. I kept some white space in the centre of the card and stamped a Christmas wish in that open space. Next I made a frame by stamping branches with Distress Oxide Ink 'Mowed Lawn'. 

Eerst maakte ik de hokjes achtergrond door met de nieuwe kleur Distress Inkt 'Lumberjack Plaid' te sponzen doorheen de 'Small Stencil - Checkered'. In het midden van de kaart een stukje wit gelaten en daar een wens in gestempeld. Vervolgens met Distress Oxide Inkt 'Mowed Lawn' takjes gestempeld rondom de kaart.

Voor de achtergrond werkte ik met een gel print. Daar een motief op aanbracht met behulp van structuurpasta en een Tim Holtz stencil.

As I mentioned earlier Darkroom Door released a beautiful new alphabet stamp set as well. On today's Christmas card I again used this 'Ransom Alphabet' set.

I started by coloring scraps of white paper with various colors of Distress Oxide Ink. I punched inchies out of that paper and adhered the inchies onto a card panel.

The letters were stamped using Distress Oxide Ink as well. For a shadow effect I matted each letter onto black paper. To finish the card off I stamped a Christmas tree.

Zoals ik al eerder vermeldde kwam ook een toffe nieuwe alfabet stempelset uit bij Darkroom Door. Ik maakte opnieuw een kerstkaart met deze 'Ransom Alphabet' set. 

Eerst restjes papier gekleurd met verschillende kleuren Distress Oxide Inkt. Daar inchies uit geponst en deze op een kaart geplakt. 

De letters werden ook met Distress Oxide Inkt gestempeld. Voor een schaduw effect elke letter op zwart papier gemat. Tenslotte een kerstboom gestempeld om de kaart mee af te werken.
