There is a '12 Week Christmas Countdown' going on on the JoFY Jamboree!!  Facebook page. Every Sunday Jo Firth-Young, designer of the JoFY stamps, is making a Christmas card during a free Facebook live. After watching the video of week 7 I ended up with this Christmas card.

Op de JoFY Jamboree!! Facebook pagina vind een '12 Week Christmas Countdown' plaats. Elke zondag maakt Jo Firth-Young, de ontwerper van de JoFY stempels, een kerstkaart tijdens een gratis Facebook live. Na het bekijken van het filmpje van week 7 maakte ik deze kaart.

Jo made a card with a parcel and one with a tree in the centre. I've chosen to work with this festive candle.

Jo maakte een kaart met een pakje en een kaart met een boom. Ik koos voor deze feestelijke kaars.

I recently joined the 'Tis the Season' workshop on Facebook by Jo Firth-Young.

For this card I was inspired by this workshop. It was all about the new stamp set JoFY 119

All the stamps used on this card are from this set, except for the Christmas wish.

Recent nam ik deel aan de 'Tis the Season' workshop op Facebook van Jo Firth-Young. Dit kaartje is geïnspireerd op deze workshop. De stempels die ik gebruikte komen allemaal uit de nieuwe JoFY 119 set, behalve de wens. De workshop stond dan ook in het teken van deze nieuwe stempelset.

Sunflowers

 

I made this set of cards using the new 'Sunflowers' stamp set by Darkroom Door.

On these cards I worked with the largest image of the sunflower.

Deze reeks kaartjes gemaakt met de nieuwe 'Sunflowers' stempelset van Darkroom Door.

Hier gewerkt met de grootste afbeelding van de zonnebloem.

I started by applying Distress Oxide Ink (here Saltwater Taffy) through my favorite 'Small Stencil - Checkered'.

Begonnen met het aanbrengen van Distress Oxide Inkt (hier Saltwater Taffy) doorheen mijn favoriete 'Small Stencil - Checkered'.

The sunflowers were stamped with Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

De zonnebloemen gestempeld met Versamark inkt en bewerkt met wit embossing poeder.

I colored the flowers with regular Distress Ink, in the same colors as I used on the backgrounds (here Twisted Citron).

De bloemen ingekleurd met gewone Distress Inkt, in dezelfde kleur als deze die ik op de achtergrond gebruikte (hier Twisted Citron).

I've cut strips out of of white paper to stamp the wishes on. 

Stroken gesneden uit wit papier om de wensen op te stempelen.

'Hello Sunshine' is from the 'Sunflowers' stamp set. The other wishes are from the 'Sentiment Stamp - Friendship' and 'Sentiment Stamp - Happy Birthday' set.

'Hello Sunshine' komt uit de 'Sunflowers' set. De andere wensen komen uit de 'Sentiment Stamp - Friendship' en 'Sentiment Stamp - Happy Birthday' sets.

I made 2 CAS cards using the new 'Texture Stamp - Snow Flakes' by Darkroom Door.

I started by stamping the Snow Flakes with Versamark ink. I heat embossed the print with red embossing powder. 

Ik maakte 2 eenvoudige kaartjes met de nieuwe 'Texture Stamp - Snow Flakes' van Darkroom Door.

Ik begon met het stempelen van de Snow Flakes met Versamark inkt. De print bewerkt met rood embossing poeder. 

The numbers are from the new 'Ransom Alphabet' stamp set. The stamping was done with the new Distress Oxide ink 'Lumberjack Plaid'. 

To finish the card off I stamped a Christmas wish and adhered a fabric tab. 

De nummers komen uit de nieuwe 'Ransom Alphabet' stempelset. Ik stempelde ze met de nieuwe kleur Distress Oxide inkt 'Lumberjack Plaid'.

Om de kaart af te werken een kerstwens gestempeld en een stoffen tabje bevestigd op de zijkant. 

This card is inspired by the card I showed a few days ago.

Deze kaart is gebaseerd op een kaart die ik een paar dagen geleden toonde.

Darkroom Door released a beautiful new alphabet stamp set as well. 

On today's Christmas card I used this 'Ransom Alphabet' set.

Er kwam ook een toffe nieuwe alfabet stempelset uit bij Darkroom Door. 

Ik maakte een kerstkaart met deze 'Ransom Alphabet' set. 

I started by sponging through the 'Small Stencil - Checkered' using the new Distress Ink 'Lumberjack Plaid'. Next I stamped a few branches in the upper right corner with Distress Oxide Ink 'Mowed Lawn'. The letters were stamped with the same ink.

Eerst maakte ik de hokjes achtergrond door met de nieuwe kleur Distress Inkt 'Lumberjack Plaid' te sponzen doorheen de 'Small Stencil - Checkered'. Vervolgens met Distress Oxide Inkt 'Mowed Lawn' enkele takjes gestempeld in de rechter bovenhoek. De letters stempelde ik met dezelfde inkt. 

I finished the card off with some red/white clay candy and a torn strip of fabric.

De kaart verder afgewerkt met rood/witte namaak snoepjes en een stukje stof.

Texture Stamp - Snow Flakes #1

 

On this card I used the new 'Texture Stamp - Snow Flakes' by Darkroom Door.

I started by randomly making prints with the stamp using white paint. For this stamping I used my stamping platform. I filled up the gaps in between with some second generation stamping. I took the stamp in my hand, bended it a little bit and made prints with a small part of the stamp. Texture Stamps have the perfect size to work this way.

Voor dit kaartje werkte ik met de nieuwe 'Texture Stamp - Snow Flakes' van Darkroom Door. Ik begon met het maken van een aantal prints met witte verf. Hiervoor gebruikte ik mijn stamping platform. Ik vulde de lege plekken op met een aantal ghost prints. Hiervoor nam ik de stempel in mijn hand en boog die een beetje om zodat ik telkens een klein stukje van de stempel kon afdrukken. De Texture Stamps zijn ideaal qua grootte om op die manier mee te werken. 

I made 3 prints with the 'Texture Stamp - Abstract Triangles' on white paper using Versamark ink and heat embossed the prints with white embossing powder. I cut 3 triangles out of those prints to make the trees with. 

I finished the card off by adding buttons, a wish and a felt tab.

Ik maakte 3 afdrukken met de 'Texture Stamp - Abstract Triangles' op wit papier met Versamark inkt. De prints bewerkt met wit embossing poeder en uit elke print een driehoek gesneden om de bomen mee te maken. 

De kaart afgewerkt met knoopjes, een wens en een vilten tabje.

Today I'm sharing the second Christmas card I made featuring the new 'Texture Stamp - Abstract Triangles' by Darkroom Door.

I started by stamping randomly on a white card using Distress Ink 'Kitsch Flamingo'. I made another print on a scrap of paper with Versamark ink and heat embossed that print with red embossing powder. I applied Distress Ink 'Kitsch Flamingo' on top and cut a tree and a tab out of that print.

Vandaag toon ik de tweede kaart die ik maakte met de nieuwe 'Texture Stamp - Abstract Triangles' van Darkroom Door.

Ik begon met het maken van willekeurige afdrukken op een witte kaart met Distress Inkt 'Kitsch Flamingo'. Ik maakte nog een afdruk op een restje papier met Versamark inkt. Die print bewerkt met rood embossing poeder en daar overheen geverfd met Distress Inkt 'Kitsch Flamingo'. Uit dit dessin een boom en een tabje gesneden. 

I've cut a trunk out of kraft paper, assembled the tree and adhered it to the card. I punched a star out of gold paper and added a button on top of the tree. The Christmas wish was stamped straight onto the card. I finished the card off by adding a tab and a strip of pink ribbon. I set and eyelet into the tab and adhered a piece of pink cord.

Een stam geknipt uit kraft papier. De boom samengesteld en op de kaart geplakt. Een ster geponst uit goudpapier en een knoop op de boom gekleefd. De wens rechtstreeks op de kaart gestempeld. De kaart verder afgewerkt met een tabje en een strookje roze lint. Een eyelet bevestigd aan het tabje en daar een stukje roze koord aan gehangen.

Darkroom Door recently released a lot of new stamp sets. I was asked to make a few samples with their new stamps. 

On this Christmas card I used one of the new Texture Stamps.

Recent kwamen weer veel nieuwe stempels uit bij Darkroom Door. Zoals gewoonlijk maakte ik een aantal voorbeelden met hun nieuwe stempels. 

Voor de kerstkaart van vandaag werkte ik met één van de nieuwe Texture Stamps.

The 'Texture Stamp - Abstract Triangles' isn't a Christmas stamp but as you can see it is possible to make a Christmas card with the stamp. 

I started by stamping the triangles with Versamark ink on a white card base. I heat embossed the print with red embossing powder and colored a few of the triangles with Distress Ink 'Kitsch Flamingo'.  

I finished the card off with a Christmas wish, a few buttons and some ribbon I recycled after receiving a present. 

De 'Texture Stamp - Abstract Triangles' is natuurlijk geen kerststempel maar zoals je kan zien is het wel mogelijk om er een kerstkaart mee te maken.

Eerst drukte ik de stempel af op een witte kaart met Versamark inkt. De print bewerkt met rood embossing poeder en een aantal van de driehoekjes ingekleurd met Distress Inkt 'Kitsch Flamingo'. 

De kaart afgewerkt met een wens, een aantal knoopjes en een stukje lint dat ik recupereerde na het krijgen van een geschenkje.

On today's Christmas cards I applied a technique I learned from Birgit Koopsen.

I adhered a Darkroom Door mask on top of a ready made gel print and pulled a print using dark blue paint.

De techniek die ik op deze kerstkaarten toepaste zag ik bij Birgit Koopsen. 

Ik legde een Darkroom Door mask op een kant en klare gel print en maakte een afdruk met donkerblauwe verf. 

To decorate the trees I punched small circles out of scraps of gel prints. I outlined each circle with a white pen and applied a layer of Stickles on each circle.

Uit restjes van gel prints rondjes geponst en deze op de bomen gekleefd. De rondjes omlijnd met een witte pen en versierd met een laagje Stickles.

I outlined the trees with a white POSCA pen and used the same pen to make splatters on the background. I applied white paint to the edges of each card.

De bomen omlijnd met een witte POSCA pen. Met dezelfde pen ook spetters gemaakt en de randjes van de kaarten bewerkt met witte verf.

I made a set of cards using the new 'Pine Branches' embossing folder by Tim Holtz.

After dry embossing I colored the panels with Distress Inks. 

Een reeks kaartjes gemaakt met de nieuwe 'Pine Branches' embossing folder van Tim Holtz. Na het embossen de paneeltjes ingekleurd met Distress Inkt. 

I added text to the backgrounds using a stencil and Distress Ink.

Over de achtergrond vage tekst aangebracht met een stencil en Distress Inkt.

I stamped the deer on scraps of white paper with Archival Ink 'Coffee'.

De rendieren gestempeld met Archival Inkt 'Coffee' op restjes wit papier. 

I adhered a rub-on on each card and stamped a Christmas wish.

Rub-ons aangebracht op de zijkant en op elke kaart een kerstwens gestempeld.

To finish the cards off I added a few red accents.

De kaarten afgewerkt met enkele rode accenten.

Op de JoFY Jamboree!! Facebook pagina startte onlangs een '12 Week Christmas Countdown'. Elke zondag maakt Jo Firth-Young, de ontwerper van de JoFY stempels, een kerstkaart tijdens een gratis Facebook live. Na het bekijken van het filmpje van week 3 maakte ik deze kaarten.

The card above is a copy of the one Jo made during the demo.  On this card I worked with the same lay-out, I only changed the colors.

De bovenste kaart is een kopie van de kaart die Jo maakte tijdens de demo. Voor deze kaart werkte ik met dezelfde lay-out, ik veranderde alleen de kleuren.

Here I only changed the size of the card.

Hier alleen een ander kaartformaat gebruikt.

For the cute snowman I used a stamp from the JoFY 105 set.

Voor de leuke sneeuwman gebruikte ik een stempel uit de JoFY 105 set.

For the background of this card I used a gel print. I added stars to the print using a stencil and modeling paste. At the bottom of the card I adhered a strip of red and white washi tape. The vintage elements are from an Ephemera Pack by Tim Holtz.

Voor de achtergrond van dit kaartje gebruikte ik een gel print. Ik zette er sterren op met behulp van een stencil en structuurpasta. Onderaan rood/witte washi tape opgeplakt. De vintage elementen komen uit een Ephemera Pack van Tim Holtz.

To make the snowmen, the Christmas tree and the twigs I used die cuts by Tim Holtz. I added color to the scarfs, the hat, the bonnet and the tree using Distress Ink. I finished the card off by randomly adding Distress Glitter.

Beide sneeuwmannen, de kerstboom en de takjes maakte ik met snijmallen van Tim Holtz. De boom, de hoed, de muts en sjaals bijgekleurd met Distress Inkt. Hier en daar ook een laagje Distress Glitter aangebracht.
